Miranda, while we all love regular content, please make sure to not burn yourself out if it starts coming to that. I know a lot of content creators that started out weekly have moved to ever other week, just because the work churn got to be too much. I'm excited to see what you do this year! Just take care of you first. :D
Miranda will likely respond but I just wanted to say I really appreciate this comment. Thank you! Burn out is a big thing on RU-vid. Miranda and I are very focused on not burning out this year. We will definitely take some Sundays off here and there, and some edits will take longer too and we’ll always take the extra time to make sure a video is right, but even so we think we can deliver weekly content most of the year.
I don’t know why I feel compelled to say this….. somehow I just feel like Miranda needs to hear that she’s doing a great job and she doesn’t have to please anybody, so whatever she is/was searching for…. She deserves it hands down. Keep up the awesome work MGO Team! ❤
Yay Leavenworth! You gotta get some of that WhistlePunk Icecream 😋 Also, I’d love to see a Miranda does Trail Maintenance video. Maybe partner with WTA and let us know what we can do to help/get involved. Looking forward to your adventures!
Just a little history check. From the history I have read Leavenworth was not a mining town. It originally started when the Great Northern Railway built tracks through Steven's Pass and the regional headquarters were there until 1925 when they moved to Wenatchee. A sawmill was built in 1903 and a the town continued on as a logging community that was in serious decline in the 1950's. The Bavarian theme was deliberate move to try to switch the town's economy to tourism. It worked.
Ok sweetie, I don´t know if you will see this but: so many serendipity moments; just binging around your videos, in the same life situation as you, into hiking, thinking of moving, and I see the main Street of Leavenworth which reminded me of my favourite show from my childhood "Northern Exposure", I google the street, it is Roslyn Washington, which absolutely blew my mind, almost near haha. And, my heart melted even further by discovering and seeing Leavenworth! How fairytale cute the town is! Keep your spirits high, you made an excellent decision! Greetings from Germany 💞
The past few weeks I have been wondering if you moved to Leavenworth because I recognized it, congrats! I camped along Icicle Creek for three months in 2013 and it kinda changed my life... since then I have always wanted to revisit the area, especially since I now live a (long) day drive away. I hope it's as special a place for you as it is for me.
It is such an incredibly special place to me, for a ton of reasons, and I'm super jazzed to live here now! I hope you get a chance to visit again ❤️ it never loses it's charm.
Rainer and Miranda!! You guys should definitely enjoy and maybe vlog the tulip festival that they have by there :) one of the biggest in the US (so they say)
It's a cool place, lots of good hiking. My mother in law wrote a whole series of books based there called Life in Icicle Falls named after the hike you did.
I love Leavenworth. As former East Coasters who moved to NoCal 14 years ago, my family has made two trips to Leavenworth in the past few years to get a taste of snow, mountains, and Christmas.
As a Texas transplant living in Tacoma, the Leavenworth area has been one of my favorite places in Washington since I stumbled on it 10 years ago. Magical every time of year. Definitely jealous-enjoy your new home!
We have a very similar Bavarian- style tourist trap in Helen, Georgia. Your background is much more breathtaking. I totally understand wanting to be really close to trails. Big Congrats!! You're killing it!!!
I did 2 polar plunges last Saturday. I stayed in 1.5 mins my first time and 1.3 minutes my second time. Though I didn’t stay in as long, my second dip I was able to regulate my breathing. Woohoo! It’s always good to push ourselves and try new challenges. I love living in a small mountain town! We have about 9K people living at 8500’ here in Colorado.
Congrats on your move! Leavenworth is my absolute favorite place!! December and October events there are wild🎉. If ya get a chance check out the outdoor play “sound of music”; it’s held up in the trees above town(September?). I live on the other end of the cascades. 🙋♀️
Hooray!!!!! I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!! (Yes, I am yelling!) What a cool town, and so beautiful, too! Now, with YOU there, it just got more cool, happier, and even more beautiful! Happy times ahead, for sure! Thank you, Miranda, Abby, and Rainer, for always sharing such great joy with us. You are the best! I wish you all, the very best!
I'm so excited to see what you have in store for this year! I love seeing your adventures and learning from you. I went car camping this weekend, and on our hike, every single time we crossed a bridge I had to call out "Bridge! Miranda, a Bridge!" There was no Miranda with us, so some of the group was confused, but it made me happy :)
My son lived in Seattle for a few years after college and my wife and I had always wanted to visit Leavenworth, so thanks for the tour! Now we want to come more than ever.
Miranda, my mom grew up in Coeur d'Alene and she said they called themselves Little Switzerland. Very Bavarian theme and I think they were the model for that Cascade Alpine feel. It's beautiful.
So happy for you- most ppl, including myself, are not brave enough to make such a drastic change in their life- love the channel- keep up the positive content- can’t wait to see what you have for in store for the future in your new hometown 👍🏻
...well, Miranda, you have certainly nailed one of my absolute Must-Live Bucket List places. I already live in a place that is extremely "touristy", but Leavenworth is certainly a different version of that. Summer seem to be a far more outdoor high-mountain recreational time that is far different than the Christmas-y Bavarian Swiss Alp theme of the town. The great thing about Leavenworth, aside from its access to the Wenatchee River and Icicle Creek, is the access to Lake Wenatchee. Lake Chelan, the Entiat River, and all that Blewett Pass country to the south. I'm looking forward to your hiking adventures in this area that I've always wanted to live in....
How exciting! Lucky the whole crew moved. that's awesome. Hope you enjoy life more (although it looked pretty golden to me as I sit in my office 6 days a week).
Amazing as always! The polar plunge was a surprise and wish I could have seen her facial expression! I learn a lot from Miranda and I have said it before and I really would like to see more of the crew! 😊
I've been to Leavenworth! It's a neat place. Beautiful land in every direction there. I cannot wait for a chance to run into Miranda next time I'm up there!
After seeing your video, I had to think about two parallels: one is Helen, Georgia, that is modeled after an Alpine town. It was formed by businessman, looking to revive an old mountain town AND also the moniker, “Christmastown USA” has been used for years by McAdenville North Carolina local town here. I guess they figured people from these towns would never run into each other😂
I'd like to see you do some East coast Hiking. Perhaps do a video on Appalachian trail Day hikes, and perhaps cover some of the lesser known but hidden treasure hikes.
Good luck in your new home. I look forward to some more dappy adventures, peppered with some info - your style is uniquely inspired and refreshing. (when you were beginning your murals section, I thought you were going to dip into “a pigeon sat on a branch “) maybe next time 😂
First of all, I LOVE YOU GUYS! You’re always cracking me up. Second, muddy buddy’s… Oh honey, bless your heart hahaha. Third, that is THE CUTEST FREAKING TOWN EVER! Congratulations!
Growing up on the west side we used to go to Leavenworth to area to hike on cloudy days. Beautiful area, but expensive to by a house there now I imagine! I backpacked the Enchantments back when there were no restrictions. How things have changed.
I’m so happy for you and excited about your move, but I’m a little worried about your safety. Stay safe in Leavenworth! It’s so cute. It reminds me of Helen, GA…if you want a break, you can visit all the German bits and bobs complete with a southern accent. Then take a relaxing tube down the river, through downtown. Ahhhhhh 🍻
Of course you moved to Leavenworth; you're like if Leavenworth was a person 😛 maybe I see you if I make it that far on my PCT hike this year (though I did see you at PCT Days last year, so I'll probably see you regardless)
I love leavenworth! If you haven't already tried it, go to The Loft and get their seattle dog. Also, have you given any thought to doing the wonderland trail? Would love to see that. Thanks for everything you do! ❤️
Thanks so much for introducing us to such a gorgeous place. Would love to try Klymnt but you have to purchase 3 boxes in order to get the sample pack. I cannot afford to do that. I think their order page is false and misleading. Will stick with the old, reliable, switchel that I can make myself. .
Please get a Garmin for emergencies if you don't already have one. I know people don't like the minimal monthly subscription price but in a life/death situation for yourself or others, it will be worth it.
I've been watching your adventures so long, I actually figured out where you moved just by its description. This one was fun, all the golleys and a singular gosh! However, your pee system is way too complicated.
This Hallmark movie writes itself. Big city RU-vid celebrity, Miranda moves to a tiny mountain town to further her career, But things don't go as expected when she finds love & realizes that that is what she was really seeking all along. 😄
Miranda! I’m so happy for you. Rainer’s goofy dance cracked me up! Thank you for lending your voice to RU-vid. The way you share the outdoors and the honest way you share your struggles help me and so many more feel less alone. Keep bringing your authentic self and know you are appreciated. ❤
