Professor Frankl laid the roots down of BJJ in Korea and has been so influential in growth of it. Ive had the pleasure to train at his schools in Seoul and am so thankful for the experience.

Started with water ended with six full pints of beer on the table! Professor Frankl brews a mean homemade soju by the way. Hope to study under him again one day.

Wow! This is the first time I've ever heard about the setbacks and drawbacks of Brazilian jiu-jitsu self-defense. I've been doing it for decades and I thought wow everything improves innovates but the self-defense looks like it's frozen and freaking time. Thanks for being honest guys I appreciate it a lot!

I agree with the statement about people using things other than Jiu-Jitsu to tap people. In my years in Jiu-Jitsu, I have seen quite a few “crappy” black belts who are still using their strength, aggressiveness, wrestling, etc… to tap people.

Actually the Kung Fu method of Bruce Lee is called Jun Fan Kung Fu that is well documented in 5 tomes book series , Jet kun Do is a concept like MMA .

No offense but Gordon looks more effortless than Rickson did back in the day. He was and is a legend but bjj has evolved and new positions have made it easier to control and dominate the strong non bjj opponents as well as lesser skilled opponents. Mma has evolved to where everyone trains bjj or grappling so you can't really compare the different eras. You could say Gordon has invisible jj since no one can stop it.
