Makes no sense. The transfiguration happened 6 days later. If I was talking to a group of people and said “I’m going to a baseball game in a week and there and some of you will still be alive when that happens”…you’d think I lost my mind. The same holds true for the argument that Jesus was talking about the Transfiguration. It was literally 6 days later. I imagine no one tasted death before that happened.

For me, it's a slam dunk that all 3 of the instances of Jesus saying this are followed immediately by the Transfiguration. The 2 Peter reference is even more confirmation. Thanks for the teaching

Great answer. That is the only answer that seems to make sense. Although this isn't an easy passage to understand.

Enoch and Elish have not tasted death coming back in end times. With God all things are possible. A test of faith Lord Jesus left some Apostles here until his return you don't believe you don't have faith. All things are possible with God. Your choice.

On the day of Pentecost, people being saved the Holy Ghost was poured Out. The Holy Ghost IS Jesus nit a 3rd person in an invented trinuty. John the Baptist said Jesus would baptize them with the Holy Ghost. And with fire. Jesus came to them on the Day of Pentecost

jesus was speaking concerning those who had not repented to follow his father works he had taught him to save them from his wrath and judgment when he comes in the future, he was prophesying, 2000years ago,concerning his return back here to bring judgement, my heavenly father was revealing this to him to tell his disciples at that time, verse 27,of chap,16,leading up to verse 28,he told his disciples, as he was prophesying of his return in the future, as his father was revealing this to him, the son of man shall come in the glory of his father, with his holy angels, then shall he reward every man according to his works, then he proceeds into verse 28,which l showed earlier who he was referring to, you notice in verse 28,they shall not taste of death, he was referring to sinners, Roman's 6 chapter,verse 23,for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life, through jesus christ, sin brings death, obedience to christ brings eternal life.

Then why insert, They are some standing here that will not taste death, being that the event happened shortly afterwards! That doesn't make sense. For example, I'm going on holidays soon and address my family members by saying, there are some here that won't die before I go on holidays!

What if some of them did not die??. What if God is allowing them to be alive somehere and they are among us??

This could not be transfiguration it does not make sense, think about it,why would he speak about some could die before this event when it is only a week away,it sounds to me like the event he's talking about is along way off ,if you were going to meet a group of people in a week's time you would not say to the group some of you will not die until you see me especially in such a short time, maybe if it were a long time you might say it, but definitely not in such a short time so I think you will have to come up with a better explanation than that to convince me.

I believe it is possible that it is speaking of the time of the end but technically I do not know

Well done. I too had come to the conclusion that this passage is speaking of the transfiguration. How about handling one even hotter than that one? How about taking up this: Mat 24:34 Truly I say to you, Not will this generation pass away, not until all these things have occurred.
