Yes, the main problem with both the canonical and apocryphal gospels is that there is a third party element (according to). As a result, as many Christians admit, the gospels are more like the hadith in Islam than the Quran in Islam. The equivalent of the Quran, for some of them, is Jesus himself, because Jesus is the word of God (kalamullah) that became flesh, while the Quran is the word of God that became words. But recognizing the existence of the apocryphal gospels and the existence of the canonical gospels alone is a clear admission by Christians that the gospels have indeed undergone changes. If it has undergone changes and has many versions, then its status, both apocryphal and canonical, is no longer holy because it is no longer pristine. The words of God that have been changed by man have lost their status, they are no longer holy, because they are no longer pristine.

The authors of the gospels were not the ones who were walking with Jesus according to Christian scholarship, who admit all authors of the gospels are anonymous. People were just writing about Jesus what they heard about Jesus. The authors of the gospels never claimed that they were witnesses. They never claim who they are. And they never claim any divine inspiration.

After the prophet's death, the Caliph realized that the surah's that people memorized was beginning to differ between different people, and so an effort was made to write everything down so it couldn't be messed up. Subhanallah. I blame no one but some Imams and Sheikhs for such misunderstanding. They usually say these type of things either out of ignorance or to somehow make Islam pleasing to people of the book.
Living proof of how hard people will fight God and His message. God said in His message: "Love one another"....people reject it and made their own gospel reflecting their own desires. God also said: "Love your neighbor, love even your enemy"....but people are not interested in that so they wrote their own book in which this word "love" does not appear. Instead..."strike them at the neck" and "cut their fingertips off". The bible is not Injeel that was revealed to The Prophet Isa or you call hin Jesus. Injeel was words of the One True God that had sent Jesus. It contains the words of God or we call Him: Allah. Bible on the other handb is stories that Luke and friends told containing what they saw Jesus did and what they heard Jesus said in addition to letters written by people considered saints, and many times: anonymous.
