The Ulma Family from Markowa. They knew that to live is to help those in need. They remained humans in inhuman times and paid the highest price. During WWI the Ulmas had been hiding their eight Jewish neighbors for over a year. On March 24th, 1944, all of them, Poles and Jews, were murdered by the Germans.
