technically the spongebob movie is the canonical end of the series, every episode that was made after that takes place before the events of the movie i believe edit: damn, nvm ig.
@@handlename88That can’t be true as we see king neptunes daughter visiting SpongeBob in later episodes of the show, but yeah the movie was meant to be the canonical ending until nick wanted more seasons
@@handlename88I’ve always hoped the last season would start with the announcement of the Krusty Krab 2 and end with the film, along the way wrapping up everyone’s story in each episode of the season
Well, Mr krabs did that to trick plankton. For all we know, as babish points out, there is no secret, and it's all hype to keep people talking. Mr. krabs is a salesman, after all.
There is some truth to it, SpongeBob is the frycook behind the grill and everyone loves the Krabby patties he makes, Mr. Krabs has been working with the same ingredients and the customers all taste the difference
Hang on this actually fits SpongeBob really well. It’s been made clear in multiple episodes that SpongeBob himself is the reason that krabby Patties are so good. Even when he’s not working for krabs, The secret to krabby patties is a love for making krabby patties!
It really is, plankton is really smart, he could start a tech firm selling tech across bikini botton and everywhere else making it big, and with the money he makes on technology he could experiment on different types of food making something better than krabby patties driving the krusty krab out of business from having a better product, and then once the krusty krab goes out of business the formula is all his not that he would need it
Which checks out: He doesn't actually cook his chum. Karen has before, making it at minimal look much better, and Squidward has cooked it too, making it apparently delicious. It'd honestly be the ultimate plot twist that the only reason the Chum Bucket's a failure is because Plankton refuses to sell anything but raw, uncooked, probably spoiled meat.
@@Umbra_Ursusactually, he does try and cook it. He does so on multiple occasions. He just can’t sell it because no one wants to eat what is considered fish guts in real life. In one episode, he said no one can ingest raw chum and survive.
Mr Krabs: In order to make something special, you simply have to believe it’s special me boy. This is honestly a perfect answer for the secret formula. It makes more sense for Mr Krabs to not spend money on expensive ingredients to improve the the Krabby Patty’s taste and instead pour enough love and passion into the art of burger making and to perfect it in order to make the perfect burger. It can also explain why he sees Spongebob as a major asset to the Krusty Krab, because he’s really the only other person, aside from his former fry cook Jim, who can still make Krabby Patties with that same love and passion.
@@ksoundkaiju9256 so hypothetically, if they take this down it becomes canon but if it already has a formula it becomes a Sonic situation where we don’t know what is canon or not
Honestly, this is such a perfect concept for the Krabby Patty Secret Formula. The idea that it's the person that makes the patty. Spongebob is a person with a well-balanced life, he's kind, caring, and has plenty of love in his heart. He creates patties that are well-balanced with a sweet taste (not sure if I'm mis-remembering, but I remember the burgers being described as having a somewhat sweet taste in one of the early episodes). Squidward feels his life is ruined and he has a tortured personality. He loves himself, but in a superficial way that's only skin-deep, and in reality he's held by major insecurity and self-loathing, so his patties end up burnt (tortured/ruined) and lacking any sweetness because he lacks love. Plankton is fueled purely by hate and spite, the exact opposite of love, and violence is no object in getting what he wants, so he produces gruesome slop with a horribly vile taste. Even Mr. Krabs, pre-flandarization, while a shrewd businessman with a love mainly for money and success, his love for those things was because he had known poverty and wanted a better life for himself and his daughter, which is a genuine love, thus, same story, the same sweet patties. The idea of the Krabby Patty as a reflection of the chef's true-self is a remarkably tenable idea and I really wish they had gone with that instead of it being a magic piece of paper from a magic book.
This needs to be top comment. I love the nuanced characterization of Mr Krabs as being a bit greedy but it comes from knowing poverty nd wanting a comfortable life for Pearl.
You've perfectly hit the nail on the head. There is so much more understanding of the cast in this one comment alone than mostly anywhere else I've seen on the internet.
I like how air tight this entire comment is. And it even fits with Jim who didn’t quit out of greed, but due to the conditions of his job. He still loves the art of fried cooking to the point he even surpasses SpongeBob. Much like Mr. Krabs Jim wanted a better life so him leaving while still maintaining his free cooking skills makes even more sense with this interpretation.
This is unironically true tho People like to make up stories but its pretty easy to see that The patties are just regular burgers. Spongebob's(and really anyone else's) love is what makes them so delicious
For some reason seeing the scene in this context hits hard, and makes you realize just how freaking amazing this moment is. The message in that scene is so powerful it transcends the movie.
I remember someone once pointed out how the Krusty Krab in the cartoon's first episodes was supposed to be a shitty place to eat and the joke was that Spongebob was excited to work in a place like that, and didn't get how in later episodes it became as if nobody in Bikini Bottom could live without eating there. I like to think it's the amount of love Spongebob puts into his cooking that made the Krusty Krab such a popular place to eat. The Krabby Patty was nothing out of the ordinary in the beginning, but it became special when Spongebob put his heart into every patty he put on the grill. And maybe Mr. Krabs capitalized on it by pretending it was always special, it wouldn't be out of character for him
@@notfunnydidntlaugh4929 tbf, I think Spongebob's Pretty Patties stand was stealing business from the Krusty Krab in that episode, which is why Krabs begged Spongebob to come back in return for letting him run the stand
@@aedan742 does that theory have a hole as big as the jerkonium theory? ( About that the jerkonium didn't do anything and the fish used that chance to be true themselves which obviously is fake )
*Spongebob laughs, which confuses Plankton, making him attack repeatedly, with still no effect on Spongebob* Spongebob: Stop it! I'm gonna pee! Don't! Don't!
Even if it is a reference, Internet animators just know how to make an adaptation to pull at the communitie's heartstrings better than any official person working on the series ever could. "It's just you." Flashbacks to that episode where the formula said it was made of plankton.
This is absolutely top tier omg. Excellent voicing and animation! I especially love how the animation takes so many style cues from the original Spongebob. It's really the little things that make this work so well.
Honestly, this would be a great scene since Bob has a lot of love for his service HE IS THE FORMULA the burger is good because he makes it with dedication
Good vid. Sidenote: AI voices aren't bad, especially if you can't afford voice actors, but It always feels more genuine if it's a human you're hearing.
This is brilliantly fitting. The Krabby Patty can be compared to Mr. Ping's special noodle soup. It's just soup, but anything can be special if you believe its special. And I'd like to think that that's the reason why people like Krabby Patties so much. That and SpongeBob's genuine care for making them.
@the9thplanet768 Fair. There was that episode with the fake book meant to scare the hell out of plankton and his family, but that defeats the message of the line.
@@shlingusdingus4174 Indeed. A "It was inside you all along" message fits spongebob much better than "oh btw we've been eating your entire family this whole time" Obviously i was only joking when i said that. 🤣
My dude, I saw this on Twitter first and I thought you hired other people to voice the characters, the fact that it was you speaks volumes, as you seriously nailed the characters perfectly! Also! SpongeBob's smile at the end was just so SO damn sweet, I love it!
I love how everyone has different takes on what the secret formula is and how the tone sets in You have this animation, and then you have the Secret Formula horror story
This is incredible! Your voice impressions are fantastic (Plankton especially), and the sound effects combined with the animation have it feel so much like a real Spongebob animatic. I love it!
"I didnt get it the first time" plot twist: SpongeBob is talking about how he used to run a successful burger chain, until Crabs tookover so SpongeBob had to steal the formula to become successful again but it took him to long, he did get it though but then realized the love is the formula then was forced into closing and working for Crabs.
It would be an interest twist to it. Not about the Krabby Patties themselves but how you make them, essentially meaning that "love" is the secret ingredient. ...Of course that would require something deep and complex in a Spongebob plot and while it would work for classic Spongebob! New Spongebob? Oh God no!
In this scenario, the secret ingredient Krabs used to make the perfect patty batter was…passion. Not a secret oil or a fancy grill technique or any type of spice, just a desire to keep getting better and be better simply for the sake of it, not fueled by some greedy ulterior motive. All Plankton sees is the desire to be rich. Krabs sees the desire to be better for those around him and for himself.
I love the idea that the Krabby Patty secret formula was just a ruse or a marketing gimmick Mr Krabs came up with, and the truth is that Spongebob is just a REALLY good fry cook.
the way the entire video is an animatic but then spongebob's smile at the very end is a fluid animation makes me feel some indescribable level of wonder
Plankton: You… cannot… defeat me! You… You’re just a big obnoxious sponge! (Tries to punch SpongeBob but SpongeBob catches plankton’s finger) SpongeBob: I’m not a big obnoxious sponge, I’m THE big obnoxious sponge. (Holds out his pinky) Plankton: “gasp” The wushi finger hold! SpongeBob: Oh you know this hold. Plankton: You’re bluffing, You’re bluffing! Krabs didn’t teach you that! SpongeBob: No, I figured it out. Skadoosh!
You know what, this reveal would actually make perfect sense if this was canon. Sometimes it isn't about a hidden ingredient that makes things so much better, it can be as simple as putting love and care into what you love doing which in turn will make what you do taste that much better. Heck it could also even be have been foreshadowed this whole time way back in the episode where Neptune and Spongebob battled to see who could make the most burgers and whilst Neptune made more than Spongebob, they tasted aweful but the single one Spongebob made tasted amazing and because if that Neptune admitted defeat. Spongebob didnt even use the good from the thr Krusty Krab it was all ingredients that Neptune gave to him in the arena which further implies Spongebobs magic touch was what made the patties taste so good. On top of all that, ofcourse Mr. krabs would capitalize off the idea that the burgers were made with a secret forumla to give his burgers that extra pull and gimmick to draw people into the resturaunt. All in all I hope this becomes canon because this would be literally the most perfect reveal after all these years. Itd make so much sense and it'd be incredibly wholesome!
"Except the music. This is the original music" Don't me modest, we all know the magic those golden lyranx you were gifted with are capable of. Now whistle us a London Philharmonic Orchestra send off.
i was waiting for spongebob to say "There is no secret formula, its all just a lie. it just tastes good for no reason. thats it." because that would be realistic
