@@huhh3983 his crit spear whold have done around 700-800 before resistence. So it got reduced by 75%or less. Tbh It did do less damage then expected. Thats a late game Ornn stacking armor and wardens mail. Ornn did have enough armor that even though Panthon had a lot of pen. He had enough armor that even the reduced amount is still high.

@@snakeinabox7220 Mf ornn had 440 armor after the shredding. Substract 1/4 because of mighty spear's arpen, that outputs 330 armor which reduces dmg by 77%. Maths might be a bit off but yeah, they check out. Crazy how tanky this guy can be and still have % max hp dmg. How are you supposed to fight such a force of nature lol

Tbh I think that 9 crit was indicative of the real problem with tanks in league of legends. It's a stat checking class, filled with champs with abilities that are meant to build upon that stat checking. ANd riot has built an item system that's balanced around giving raw stats and unique passives, but the importance with tanks ALWAYS ends up being stats and stat steroids. So like, in order for tanks to ever be "balanced" is for the class to be gutted and rebuilt completely

thats some quick napkin math right there pantheon non empowered Q is 190+115% bonus AD increased to Crit Value on targets below 20% so in total 380+230% bonus ad against Orn who at that time had 420 armor (after the reduction) so pantheon at that moment had 20% armor pen and a bit from runes that adds up to 25% so he penetrates ornns armor to 315 at 315 armor you have 76% damage reduction ornn also has wardens mail which further reduces damage by 5 + 3.5x4 (3.5 per 1000 max hp) pantheon at lvl 15 with 244 ad means that he had 137 bonus AD or that spear hits for 380+315=695 damage at 76% damage reduction and 17 flat reduction equals to 149 damage in fact he hit for more than he should have as he hit for 187 damage so my math was a bit lacking somewhere maybe items interacting in different order i don't know regardless if that spear was empowered it would have killed but it wasn't and regular spears even if they crit don't deal that much damage the Empowered spear is the almost guarantee execute on sub 20% hp targets including tanks you can see the empowered spear hitting for 238 without a crit so there is that

​@@novaseerthat may be where my math went wrong i guess if you disregard wardens mail the math will math out point is resistances are hard to understand thats why rito introduces % dmg and true damage a lot so that when you hit an ability you have a relatively good idea what it will achieve not all yes but recent champion designs include a lot of % dmg
