If they want a long term goal to grind for, they should make it cosmetic. Like have a 4th mastery level or something that's a cosmetic upgrade. I think star points did this kind of? I'm not sure, I've never used them, but there's got to be some way to create a grind that doesn't imbalance the game like lvl 15 has
They abandoned the cosmetic star levels because it doesn't make em money. There are so many cards without 3rd and even 2nd star upgrade. We haven't even got star upgrades for all the cards from _the trailer for this feature_ yet.
Also it’s so boring grinding for levels, there’s literally no incentive to do it cuz u get nothing other than just a 10% increase on your cards stats. It’s garbage progression

Other games manage to have all-cosmetic monetization schemes just fine. Aka of course cosmetics don't sell well when the other option is literally "get better cards."
No we need to fix everything wrong in-game before introducing new stuff. Clan wars and the p2w progression system. They need to figure out how to purely monitize on cosmetics and boosters to slightly save grinding, and not lock features behind a paywall for everyone.

Literally a day before the update i managed to get my towers to level 14 and yesterday got my ass cheeks clapped by two opponents with lvl15 boosted cards and towers
I cannot wrap my head around how these deals are worked out. It has to be just experimental to see how far they can push it and have a select playerbase just buy everything automatically. It has to be just a robotesque exchange while destroying their reputation in the process. Something like that.

i think the devs listened but they think theyre idea is still better they shuold post the things theyre gonna put in game first to youtubers so youtubers can make it better
100% they will use people coming back for slash royale and for evolutions, to argue that their data supports addition of lv15. Imagine a cliff dive their graphs wouldve made if they just added level 15 without those.
Its amazing how clash of clans is doing the same thing as clash royale with progression, but instead gets all the praise from their community for the banger updates they've done for the past year or so, plus it's like they're experimenting with the micro-transactions in clash royale before they fix it in clash of clans

At this point I only play classic challenges, they’re the only way to play a fair game. I’ve been trying some alternatives to cr, and so far the only one I found that was decent is Marvel Snap, you should give it a try, there’s no need to upgrade cards there
Totally agree, they need to change the amount or conversion. And also add like new cosmetics or something for players to work for, because working for levels isnt enjoyable or fun
i remember a time when i was in arena 8 which was the ice arena, and i had an all legendary cards deck because i had so many that i needed to show off to everyone because legendaries were so hard to come by and it was so much fun. i stop playing for 4 years i come back and this shits here.
Going off of his prices: in total it takes 163,500,000 gold to max every card, no gold guys! just realised: 1,308,000 gems to max every card which is approx $14855.14 along with that if you are getting the dollar offer: its costs $1633.91 love supercell!
At this point, what would keep me from quitting the game would be if they quartered the cost of level 15. If I can get anywhere from 4 to 8 of my max cards BACK each season, and it would only take me a year to be back where I started, I would still be angry and I would still feel scammed but I could accept that since we're 'algedibly' getting a new evolution each season. Also I need the promise of never adding vertical progression ever again.
Imagine if supercell devs actually choose to make that for getting to lvl 15 you need to get to do a mission with that card, similar to masteries. That would've been soo much better
They are used to doing quick math and memorizing interaction numbers like how much hp on the tower for a fireball+log to one shot. So not "advanced math" like matrix but probability math, total sum, things everyone should understand easily
If the gold offer wasn't so garbage I could've understand, like people who already had 5 million gold could use that gold for something But the offer being such ridiculous eliminates that point completely

They're so detached from their game they do not even know how to improve it...they really don't even know how to make the game better. They think the best way to maintain the playerbase is by adding levels 🤦...not improving the game itself, which has needed improvements for years! A good version of clan wars and 24/7 1000 player tournaments with good rewards would be a massive success and would bring back millions of players. Fixing the matchmaking to not punish good players would solve one of the top reasons people leave. The possibilities are infinite with this game, but here these oblivious fools are driving the game right into the gutter, in hyperdrive 🤦 It's unbelievable.

Lvls are not good adding new lvls every year just to get the same interactions is not ok they should monetize their game differently better cards, make the megaknight wizard all of them look cool, better tower skins add landscapes like in clash Royale they can monetize the game in so many ways that don’t just add repetitive grinding for new lvls I don’t understand why do you want new lvls is grinding every year for the exact same interactions fun or are you just defending their laziness and lack of creativity in monetizing their game?

Everything is true, as they said, the upgrade is free, you only need elite cards, and you can earn them without a donation, but it takes a long time. For example, to raise 10 leagues, they give a good amount on the way + in addition, chests will fall.
I accidentally bought the 150k gold deal as I thought it was for 50k elite wild cards. I then realized it was supercell making the deal and audibly yelling no.
Since the new battle pass has dropped, my clan of 20-30 people has went from 3000-4000 points for clan wars per day to 1300-1700 per day. The game was absolutely gutted when the new battle pass came out. You know… the one that costs more for less resources.
The update wouldn't have been that bad if they had removed p2w aspect after lv 14 max. So it could've become play to win. But they intentionally "forgot" about the whales lurking in game

Plus SC usually drastically decrease resource cost and upgrade times in lower th when they add a new th

No matter how rare youll encounter it the fact that it can happen it just screws over what makes competitive games fun in the first place. When you play smth like valorant you dont want to just lose games randomly just because they have a higher lvl gun than you
The devs say it constantly and youtubes, streamers etc. sometimes repeat it being somewhere between believe and doubt. "Some players like leveling up" and want level 15. Anyone who actually gets a thrill from that process is NOT getting enjoyment from playing a game, they're getting enjoyment from satisfying and ADDICTION. No other way around it.
Non-cosmetic solution: exclude elite levels from PoL, grand and classic challenges. The main mode and paid modes. Global tournies, trophy road, clan war, whatever else they want to introduce.... P2w modes. Users who want to chase a carrot can do it there.
what some people might not realise is that gems are pretty easy to get by just playing the game, so obviously it would be way more expensive to get it with gems. i got 24k atm by just playing the game
To max collection: 163.5 million gold (despite them saying no gold, and you can only hold 5 million gold at a time), or 1.308 million gems (despite them removing 300 gem mastery reward right before they drop this deal, they knew what they were doing), or $1526 CAD. absolutely disgusting. And this is with the current 109 cards. And remember, gameplay with all level 15 cards is the exact same as everything level 14. This is just mindless grinding. A RoyaleAPI post from February 2023 stated that the absolute most gold you could possibly get from one season, buying every RT max chest, winning all clan wars, buying the old pass royale (the old one might I specify), converting all extra lvl 14 cards into gold (which is impossible now) and constantly unlocking chests 24/7 with maximum efficiency, you could at most make 952k gold/season. At this rate, it would take over 14 years to max your collection. Now if we factor in that the average player won't do all of these methods, the pass is far worse now, and you can't use trade tokens or overflowing cards to get gold, its not much of a stretch to estimate 15-16 years of grinding for a player who buys the pass every season, and for the average f2p player, it could take nearly 20 years to max your collection. and this is all assuming they don't add anymore cards within this timeframe.
OMG why are they doing these bad things to the game!? I have been playing for years off and on and recently Ive been seeing more and more issues with Clash Royale. It's sad.

I just deleted Pokemon GO a couple months ago because they screwed the community, I think I'm done here too. That really sucks because I've put in so much time and so many years into both games. Oh well, I"ll find something else to do, maybe with fewer MACRO transactions

Clash of clans is an idle builder game as well. The core gameplay originally was progression. It's why the new content makes sense there. In CR it makes zero sense. People aren't playing the game for progression like with CoC.

Didn’t they say that they didn’t want players to get to level 15 right away? I don’t agree with lvl 15 but I think the problem is play to win players that are actually paying to get to that level right away and then having the casual f2p players go against that.
