Going by our exchange rate, it shows that there is still some form of subsidy cushion going on.

It's funny to compare Nigeria with other countries when it comes to pump price. What is the minimum wage in those countries? The poor can't even feed more than a dollar here per day. Let's not be insensitive to people's plight.

It's almost laughable when we try to compare Nigeria with other countries regarding fuel pump prices without considering the glaring differences in standards of living. Have we stopped to ask what the minimum wage is in those countries? The reality on the ground is that many Nigerians struggle to survive on less than a dollar a day. It's absolutely heart-breaking. We must be cautious not to be insensitive to the everyday struggles of the masses. I honestly can't comprehend why analysts keep comparing Nigeria's fuel prices with international market rates. Workers in those foreign countries earn significantly higher wages, enjoy better working conditions, and benefit from government incentives such as affordable housing, healthcare, and social security, all of which contribute to a more comfortable life. In stark contrast, Nigerians are enduring severe and unnecessary hardships. It's not just about fuel prices; it's about the entire system that leaves citizens gasping for relief. Comparing Nigeria to these countries without taking into account the vast differences in wages, welfare benefits, and overall living conditions is both misleading and unfair. Let's not lose touch with the reality that Nigerians are facing a crisis of survival, and it's time we stopped pretending otherwise.

Cost of producing petroleum products is the same everywhere in the world. So the comparism is valid. It cost about $55 to $70 to produce petrol. Not adding transport and other overhead charges. So please, we are lucky to even be buying it at the price we are now. If you doubt, travel to next door Benin Republic or Chad or Cameron and see for yourself.

Are they earning the nonsense 70 thousand naira minimum wage that you looter's in public office imposed on Nigeria workers? Do they have the type of condemned roads and lack of electricity you have in Nigeria? Senseless statements.

Whoever wrote that thing on the headline that there is nowhere petrol is less than 1 dollar is telling lies. I stay in Qatar and a liter of petrol is Qr 1.80 draham. Qr 1 is four naira sixty five Kobo. It's way below 1 dollar. I dollar here is Qr 3.65 draham. Nigeria with abondant petrol suppose to be selling it like Qatar to their at one liter to 4 naira if you calculate it. Nigeria has and produces oil and don't have sell or calculate the price of petrol in dollars because we ddon use dollar rather we use naira. Nowhere civil servant collect 30 dollars or less in the world

I wonder what is happening with our leaders in Nigeria. When it comes to things that make Nigerians suffer, our leaders will always compare us with other countries, but when it comes to things, Nigerians will benefit from they will be silent. I live in the UK, and the list paid workers receive. £10 an hour, so if you worked for 10 hours a day, you would be earning £100 per day, which is equivalent to #200,000 .00 while in Nigeria, the minimum wage is #70,000.00. In London, if you are over 60 years old, you will be entitled to freedom pass, which would would enable you to travel with bus ,train, and tram from 9.30 am in the morning. Once you're a pensioner, you will get your money month. Our leaders can't see all these good things and implement them.

Nigerian analyst have a a way of telling us what they think is true. A liter of fuel in the US is less than a dollar and a taxi driver makes over 5 thousand dollars after tax monthly. In Nigeria the minimum wage is arguably N70k per month and fuel is sold for N1k per liter. It’s not easy for our people. But I suggest government subsidizes crude oil to Nigerian refineries and regulate the price downstream. God help naija

It's always easy to compare fuel price in Nigeria with other climes. True, fuel is cheap in Nigeria but do we always compare the wages Nigerians earn. In those climes wages are not $25.00 a month, in those climes primary and secondary education are free and health is highly subsidized. What is Nigeria leaders doing for Nigerians, nothing. Some of our analyst should also let Nigerians know that in those climes their leaders don't live the type of luxurious and flamboyant lives our leaders live. They don't steal their country blind as our leaders do. Any country where politicians are richer than the nation is a very sick country.

And as of today, the Nigeria government has just agreed to pay minimum wage of $42 dollars per month which some states are even yet to implement! What is the cost of living in Nigeria today? So, if petrol (gas) is sold at a $1 to Nigerians, the Nigerian government can't even pay workers salary that can give them gas for a month!! What an irony and shame to a giant. Most countries Nigeria wants to compare themselves with, their minimum wage per day is more than a year salary for most Nigerians. Whoever is putting these things in our heads has truly succeeded. Our resources are "smartly" been snatched away from us and we are been pushed several years back, in terms of our wellbeing. I wonder who is benefitting from this move?
