I started playing on a server with a crazy virus where you gotta do research and stuff with it and make cures or more virus with microscopes and stuff. Pretty neat to watch dayz evolve thanks to the modding community. Great video as always!

Smoke monster is a thing build into Deer Isle, scared the hell out of me and some buddies in the middle of the night first time it happened. One ended up bleeding and teleported from portland to the SE island, the other 2 of us just kept running from the screams and weird light. Good times lol.

Theres a smoke monster on all Deer Isle server's. Its set loose when a player opens the door at the ice temple.

We can tell you did your homework, good info shared about the server in this video. One thing folks should remember is you won't be able to store heat (aka buff) until you have clothing with the insulation to do that. How you going to store heat in that t-shirt? The tip to make improvised heat packs is a game changer. More ways to die? Sure, but more ways to stay alive too. Look around and get creative. Every resource matters. I want to see a server where not only do you eventually turn into the zombie, but your stuck in the zombie body while it moves around, and you have to watch at you eat other survivors or are pummeled to death.

No... even better you co trol the zombie with a new game mechanic. You can't equip anything you can't get sick cold or hot but you can control movement scream and attacks

Any Aussies or Kiwis wanting to play on a server with a virus very similar to this, as well as the Syberia medical mod, there's an Aussie server that hosts a Winter Livonia map with all this and more. Hardcore DayZ. It is brutal to survive in ☠️🤣🇦🇺

I think it could help if you put a colored box around the edge of the screen to indicate whether the view is of Jon or George. (Red vs blue for instance). Sometimes, I don't notice the name change on the bottom-right.

The secret to playing on these hardcore servers is crouch walking, sneak about the zeds and don't engage unless you're on top of a car or through a window.

They should add a more over powered claymore that you can throw at people when it is damaged and it blows up when it hits something. Also “I’m so cold” to start off. Edit, John might die first. RIP John

Modern claymores contain C4 explosive which is so stable you could shoot it or light it on fire without it exploding. Previous to the development of C4 claymore mines contained C3 (the immediate predecessor to C4,) and I'm no expert but everything I've read about it indicates that it's not any more sensitive to shock than C4 is. Even badly damaged, a modern claymore wouldn't explode from being thrown, and I suspect the same is true of older, previous models of claymore mines.

john's wincing at the halfway point of the video is the deep infection. that one CAN be healed with disinfectants, but it takes about 3 full bottles to do it. what you need at that point is tetra and vitamins. RIP john!

Longest infected life we've seen is 5.5 hours until there was so much bleeding the cure had to be administered. It's not an instant death sentence. It's more fun to kill people slowly we found.😉 Wound infection is the quick killer for sure. Meds and disinfectant should be a priority.

The markings look similar to a so-called Vipera Berus which is found in finland (similar to the Russian based environment). Common European adder. Supposedly non-aggressive unless seriously provoked and supposedly rarely fatal. Still, don't tempt fate in this game.

the smoke monster is on every deerisle server (unless turned off by the admins) and its SCARY AS FUCK! i encountered it the other day and hands down the scariest moment ive had in all my 4000hrs on dayz
