I recommend you update the diesel generators addon because it has recently had a big rebalancing update with new huge diesel engines and oil you can pump from oil chunks. The recipes are a lot cheaper and easier to make as well as the fuels being far more effective and encouraging the use of long fuel pipelines distributing gasoline and diesel around your base. You can also make a whole field of pumpjacks pumping oil and have a train pick up the oil and ship it to a refinery which I feel could be an entire episode or two on its own
That’s actually an entire different Create Addon called The Factory Must Grow I also do recommend it due to the large amount of power you can produce from the oil byproducts and a lot of industrial building options and new avenues of production
yeah it’s from the “create: diesel generators” addon.. Im playing with it right now. It adds gasoline, diesel, biodiesel, plant oil, crude oil.. the ability to refine said crude oil, it adds pump jacks and huge diesel generators and everything op said
I now want to build a base which is a huge tower with floors and floors of machines, where the roof is glued together so whenever I build a new floor, the roof lifts up some more to make room, so the tower just gets taller and taller over time. There could even be a way to automate the building of the outside walls of a new floor.
@@gerwalt2137 Yeah, it would only work if I’m not producing stuff at high rates, maybe just enough to build casually with actual farms located elsewhere
Your pipes were breaking because they were mixing liquids(as you figured out). But the reason the liquids were trying to mix is because basins don't have input/output slots, the pumps were sucking the ethanol/plant oil out of the basins, not the other pipes.
Considering that the biggest draw for the diesel engines is that they're compact, I thought of a use for them; Trains. You could use them on train cars, where space is extremely limited, for things like a mobile workshop. One car could be a workshop and another could store fuel.
You would have to disassemble the train at a station for machines to work, correct? That'll probably change once Steam n' Rails updates to support Landlord when it releases with Aeronautics. I wonder if by then, The sterling engine it adds may be a better power source for compact spaces.
use the biodiesel in place of lava for your standard steam engines - they are equivalent to blaze cakes. the diesel/biodiesel is the star of the addon - the generators are a massive red herring.
When you raised a whole section of a building with the mechanical piston to fit your needs I started laughing in disbelief and saying "goddamn I love Create so much"
I have a ton of respect for your commitment to only passing power and items through the basement and only processing stuff in the buildings. It'd be so easy to do those one or two processes that couldn't quite fit in the basement, but I really feel like the self imposed challenge makes the quality of your content shine through.
if you really wanted to have a collection area in a compact setting like the first design you can place down a backpack with magnet upgrade and it will suck up nearby items
You won't need to increase fuel burn time, if you just use 1 engine and increase the SU that it produces accordingly. Only downside is that it won't look as cool as having one cargoship-sized generator block somewhere.
Pretty sure you just discovered the real life problem with internal combustion engines: The only reason they're useful is because we have a lot of places selling fuel for them. Without that convenience they're far too inefficient to be of any use at all. There's a reason most power stations run on steam. Electricity on the other hand, we can generate with steam, or wind, or from the sun. That's what would be actually useful in create (and I'm pretty sure there are mods for that).
If you aren't already using them, check out Mccaw's various decorative mods. They have a LOT of awesome decoration pieces using all kinds of materials including roofs, catwalks, bridges, stairs, fences, doors, etc. It's an amazing series of mods.
You should take all of the choclate bakery building and put it in the engine building and put the engine building in the other factory with the cobble. But all in all good job on all of the different thinks in the create mod.
It would be interesting to see if the diesel factory produces enough diesel to run itself. The only real use I see for this would be a backup system that can be used to kickstart the whole base in case something breaks horribly. Like "Oh my reactors ran out of fuel now I have no power to produce fuel". You then switch on your backup generator to get the fuel production going in oder to bring your main generator back online.
I just wanna say you should try create new age, its an addon for create that adds electricity and with diesel engines that would be a good source for electricity.
I feel like the diesel engines are more like a portable source of power, or maybe an automatic kickstart for a steam system, or maybe emergency power. The problem is that waterwheels are more convenient for all those.
Exactly. The diesel engine is meant to be a mid/late game portable power source to help you set up new builds. It’s not meant to be a permanent source of SU.
You might be able to fix the overstressing issue by connecting clutches connected to stressometers so when it gets over stressed it automatically disconnects and reconnects the system.
I know im a month behind but i'll post this anyhow: I use seed oil to run my diesel generators. Pumpkin farm to mechanical craft to make them into seeds and then press the seeds. But there is one more engine you didnt mention or maybe its not in your version, its the huge engines.. there more like a piston style. but seed oil is the best fuel.. if the others gave better output or lasted long it would be worth making the other fuel but they dont.
Foxy, i have been learning KubeJS for the sake of a mod pack I am working on, if you want help with the stripping of the cherry wood logs I would happily help create you a small patch so that works as expected. it might not be KubeJS in forge but I will figure it out
Hey foxy, I’ve got a little tip for you, if you break a storage drawer when looking at the outline it will drop a nbt storage drawer and it will keep all its items, for easier transport
What version is this because in my world diesel generators also has pump jacks to produce oil, and the oil gets distilled into gasoline and diesel, the diesel gets put into a new generator "huge diesel generator" which is the cheapest and best one produces 4k su each. and the gasoline super heats blaze burners for 40 minutes so easy max level steam engine
It might be a recent addition, but you can adjust the burn rate multiplier of the fuel in the server config now! You might need to do it within you server's files though since you're running the world on a server instead of on your pc.
Create The Factory Must Grow allows for waay better diesel engines run off actual diesel made of oil... but you will have to find a new place for getting it out cuz its included in worldgen
If you're looking for a cooler diesel engine than those, i suggest installing Create The Factory Must Grow. It adds crude oil and oil refinery systems. The diesel gets you alot more bang for your buck than bio diesel
You should have a Vanilla/Create hybrid Skelly farm built around a skelly spawner. The vanilla part would be how it moves the skeletons, using water. The Create part would be how the skeletons are killed for the bones, using either mechanical drills, saws, or using deployers with Looting III, Unbreaking III diamond swords, as long as you can spare the diamonds for the swords, you should go the deployer route. If not, saws and drills will suffice. I know, you _could_ use mechanical fans to push the skeletons towards the kill chamber, but I, personally, like using a combination of vanilla _and_ Create to, well, *create* my farms. FoxyNoTail, if you want to go full Create, you go right ahead. It's a matter of personal preference. If you don't have enough resources for 10-20 fans, you can use a Minecart contraption or mechanical pistons to push the skeletons. There are alternatives to nearly everything, except for maybe Blaze Burners.
New to your channel but im glad recommended page pushed your video cuz I enjoyed every episode of this series. I would only recommend adding torchmaster mod to your list so them pesky mobs stops spawning in areas you dont need them
Diesel generators are actually better because think about your water power engine takes hundreds of blocks and not just that you need to actively make a fuel source for it and also have something I can play power it doesn't even started well for a diesel all you need is fuel and it starts and it goes what it's all you need is two blocks
I make wine as a hobby and i have never once thought to ferment TOMATOES.😂 I might have to try that one day. Can't imagine it'd turn out very good, but who knows? 🤷♂️
Is there the create straw? If you click a blaze burner with one you can pump fluids into it and JEI shows the time and heat the burners give out depending on the fluid you give it. I’m wondering how long the blaze burners last and what heat level biodiesel gives
To be fair Foxy, a builders bucket is 5 US gallons while the tin buckets represented by minecraft is more likely a 1 gallon bucket, so your math is likely off a bit, but still... the diesel mod (or the nuclear reactor mod) is somewhat out of place in the steam based world of Create, and very out of place in the horses and swords world of vanilla minecraft.
