We've had it in Poland back since 2021 in Lublin. We were one of the first countries to host the installation. In fact, it was supposed to be removed back in 2021. Although, it stands until today. And is all good, mostly civilized 😂👍

Me too. I'm also smh at some of the comments here. Too many people talk like Irish people are either all good or all bad, while others either claim the offender must be an immigrant or that the immigrants have somehow corrupted them. I've been part of many groups and I've never had to learn that there are bad apples in every basket because that's obvious. One thing I have learned from experience though, is that most people who agree with you about something you think is reasonable don't agree because they figured it out - they agree because of dumb groupthink. Beware of the mob you bring along with you, people. This comment section is a great example of the kind of mob who will quickly return any political success to the base equilibrium the world loves.

I just got let go from a middle school that’s hiring foreigners forward to be exact and a small school. Before signing a paper to resign I was told that my Facebook post have made many of the teachers uncomfortable, then show me the stack of screenshots people have been taking. Mission accomplished going to be home schooling my kids next year for sure.

Then complained about the best librarian being pushed out to my position in title one and hers to the most rotten person there. She’s messed w me n my kids . N others. But by giving up I took back my parental rights. I was the basketball coach n volleyball coach n drama teacher. Started helping in the kitchen too. Put together their fall festival last minute n was a complete success. I’ve also complained of people w their degrees not being as great as they’re made out to be. The school board is crooked so I and other parents started speaking out about that too. The one who made the most problems for me whose going to be the new librarian had skanky videos of herself on her Facebook w kids from the school as her friends n I’m the bad guy .

It's also interesting how a lot of people complain about "corporations" but are totally cool with any of them on their own side. They do all sorts of research there, not just nuclear research (although I think it started for nuclear research). They now study particle physics and stuff.

I was living and working abroad (for a US company) during 9/11/01. My friends in the USA STILL can't believe me when I tell them that around the world: 1/3 danced in the streets, 1/3 looked up a their TVs and said "its about time those Americans got it." And 1/3 were somewhere between barely giving a damn and horrified. They are convinced the world wept along with Americans. Few did.

I find taking down the Portal quite sad on the part that people are so sensitive. Seriously. 9/11 happened over 20 years ago. People make jokes about it and memes too. Get over it. Only thing that it led to was destabilizing the Middle East with illegal invasions of nations based on lies of WMD's that didn't exist and thinking those nations were third world when they were actually stable and functional nations with decent governments (that weren't pro-USA). Some of us who worked in Media saw how compartmentalized America is. In NY State I was shocked when I was having to go to different sites and do uplinks and I thought they were reporting about the story happening in the Capital District, but there were actually 4 sperate exactly the same incidents happen in Binghamton, Rochester, Syracuse and Albany at the same time, within a month of each other, and no one else knew this. Even the police, only a few at the state level knew this. America has sealed off each little area from the rest of America and only the stories they want to get out do. It is crazy how much this is done.

I had a friend in Ireland around 2008 and we used to go on Skype (when you needed a separate, not terribly cheep, bad quality webcam at like, 10 frames/minute) and listen to the online versions of our local radio stations together. The idea behind "the portal" is stupid. It would have been terrifically exceptional in 1998. in 2024, its just kumbaya nonsense.

Kind of a cool idea but they need to put it in a US city that is NOT New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, or any other democrat led city. Needs to be put at a location where people are actually respectful. Also, should be able to change to another city if the other city pulls the 9/11 pic from Dublin. Allow, perhaps, the ability to see 10 different cities.

Sadly this may have worked if Ireland wasn’t used as a dumping ground and Dublin wasn’t let go as far as it has 🙃. The rest of Ireland is truly beautiful DO. NOT GO TO DUBLIN if yuu can help it 🥸
