I agree, that would have been awesome. It'd be like the Doopliss battle refight in chapter 4

This is wishful thinking but kind of in the same vain of Super Mario 3D World, I kind of hope they make some DLC where you play as Luigi and get to discover what his adventures were all about. I know there’s already a fan game making that possible but in the worst case scenario that doesn’t happen for whatever reason, it would be nice for Nintendo to publish something like that.

Technically you can hack PM64 to load Whacka into battle, but his only move is to grow a bump and crash the game.

Yep. After that, you can do another 15 question quiz, but it’s just questions he’s asked you already, and you only get 1 coin when you answer them all correctly.

It doesn’t change after 80. Only after 50. There’s only 2 themes in the soundtrack player for the pit (and the 2 accompanying ones for rest stops)

​@@Tactix_se Yeah the only thing that changes at floor 80 is the visuals. I think that's what convinced OP that the soundtrack changes too.

wacka passes all the stages from "Everywhere at the end of time" thanks to mario and your will to 100% the game

maybe they wanted pit of hundred trials to be more optional so you don't feel like you are losing out if you skip it.

I was thinking the cap would be 30 because in the original it basically doubled your storage. I made it to floor 50 after chapter 1 and although I don’t regret it, was a little surprised to see it was only 20.

I think it was more like people in Petalburg weren’t aware of Hooktail being female in the original, so they assume Hooktail’s male. It’s more of a realization when in Chapter 8, Gloomtail refers to Hooktail as his sister. I think I remember the partner’s response was something like “Wait, Hooktail was a girl?”.

But he has no other attacks, so you can just use Veil

If you use Koops’ Shell Shield, Vivian’s Veil or the Boo’s Sheet item, Whacka is actually pretty easy.

He literally didn’t take any damage at all tho. And the only attack that would’ve damaged him missed, as he was lucky (Even though he timed the Superguard)

Yeah, I was just going to comment this. It made me feel like there was more to do. (there was, but I didn't know what at the time. I just went around listening to the music).

I had this happen to me when fighting Prince Mush with the stage fog on my side, and because he couldn’t touch me, I literally was not able to Superguard him to change stances, but the devs didn’t seem to take into account Special Moves, so I attacked Mush with Art Attack when the fog caused him to miss me multiple times. He was super trivial due to this alone without even taking Power Bounce, Multibonk, Power Lift, etc. into account; my expectations were higher, but (and I don’t say this negatively), the player can be so blatantly overpowered that any opponent doesn’t stand a fraction of a chance of being threatening. Edit: There is a stance Mush can have that makes him completely invincible to every attack, Special Moves included. However, due to the fog from the stage causing him to miss me, and with the fact I was able to land a Superguard on him and then kill him due to how OP I was from Power Lift + Power Bounce + Multibonk + my Badge loadout, I literally never got to face that phase (and I didn’t watch anyone else complete the fight beforehand, so I wound up breezing through him before he could become invincible).

​@@BadShotDR the thing is that you can fight him in chapter 4 just by doing help wanted! And waiting for her email if you want the challenge.

@@Nitosa aye, noted; I personally did all the troubles as soon as I gained access to then per chapter. Same thing with recipes. I also was able to beat Bonetail before the Shadow Queen in this version as well, mainly because you’re not capped at 999 coins and the pit gives you so many coins, that you can build yourself up to be even more OP than ever. I enjoyed the game even with that notion realized.

​@BadShotDR you sure about that? I tested nearly everything during Mush's last phase - Art Attack included - and no special moves can hit him. They just don't do damage. So yeah, calling your bs on that one.

Superguard also works but it's harder.

You don’t have to use whacka bumps though.

I replayed through the entire game with the belief on that one you had to use a wacka bump because they sell decently on the excess express and it was one of two recipes I was missing at the time the other was the coconut bomb I deleted my near perfect save file on the assumption I'd permanently missed it All on GameCube by the way

@@phictionofgrandeur2387 idk, who even ever has 50 HP and FP? Unless you're maxing out your levels, there's never a reason to have that much HP and FP. 40 of each is more than enough.

If you wanna make it cheaper to cook a Zess Deluxe you could cook a Life shroom+a dried shroom for a shroom steak. A turtlely leaf+a horse tail for a healthy salad. Then cook the salad and steak for a zesa deluxe. Saves you from cooking the bumps ^^ (also forgot to add but if you want to save a few coins buy the life shrooms from twilight Town for 40 coins)

And a life mushroom if not game over on-top of that

That's why it's best to buy a pro controller before it's too late lol

I mean... no offence at all to Bringle but it was very obvious he already knew lol. Even just being told "make sure you hit Whacka 8 times" by a random person basically spoils what the boss will be. People CONSTANTLY spoil the new bosses by saying stuff like "no spoilers but [spoils everything anyway]" so it's basically impossible to not know about them.

@@Logandroid It's really a shame that you _have_ to hit Whacka 8 times in order to trigger the secret fight. With the other secret boss, I had a hunch that it would be in the game simply because there was a missing battle track in the Chapter 3 section of the music player, but the requirements for unlocking it are something a person would naturally do when going for 100% anyway so it's easy to stumble across without being spoiled (this is what happened to me.) Hitting Whacka isn't like that though. A new player might get enticed by the fact that he gives super good healing items, but that's assuming they've even run into him in the first place *and* are greedy enough to actually take all 8. I don't really see the majority of people doing that, so you lose out on even the _potential_ of getting surprised, because by the time you're hitting him for the 8th time, you're probably doing it because you already know it's a prerequisite.

The problem with that is that none of those events have probably likely happened yet (well at least super hasn't)

@@randomnpc445 That's what I've read, but like I said I rarely actually used it. It's in-game description (at least on gamecube) implied the move as a whole didn't work as intended, so its hard to research.

This boss technically only has one other attack and that's the one where it hurts itself to create more bumps.

It is 100% in the original, Bringle apparently has never reentered a game save after passing before.

yeah, you don't need to be champion again to fight him. you can battle him as early as chapter 4, though i got the email after chapter 5.
