There's More To This Dad Than You Think! - Character Obsessed 

I'm sorry this took so long! Life sidewinded me pretty hard and caused delays, these videos take me a long time, so any support is greatly loved!

Amazing intro. Mark may not be able to connect with the younger generation too well, but Goddang if that man ain't Daddest Dad in a clinch. I've said it before but I genuinely love how Outbreak is the tender mixing of jump the shark Resident Evil Bullshit and more grounded real to life stories. Even Kevin Ryman himself is a hero who so desperately wanted to be a hero but for better or worse was constantly shafted out of it (likely because he didn't follow orders too well especially, meaning Wesker could've never killed him), similar in some ways to Junpei. They're all genuine average every day people but with skillsets due to their jobs and hobbies. I'm honestly so happy that Mark seems to have gotten a happy ending given being a Vietnam Vet. That one was one of the worst as far as atrocious shit going down went - for both sides. A lot of soldiers came back with debilitating PTSD that led to extended depressive episodes, many dying due to it by their own hand or the depression itself - either neurologically or just eventually giving up. The Iraq War was similar in many ways, but not necessarily to the same level. Mark being so strong and courageous despite everything from back then, genuinely respectable. I like to hope he eventually got therapy and was able to fully connect with his son. Mark gets it that you don't gotta be a hero necessarily to live a good life. It's all about those around you. Even if he's still struggling around that time. He's very considerate and thoughtful (far more than Kevin I think) despite not always having the easiest time connecting. He knows what people like, usually, and when he doesn't he certainly does try. Weird Strangers don't follow simple rules. I not only think that Jim and Mark probably get along due to Mark finding him amusing to be around, I also think Jim sees Mark as a comforting father figure during a difficult time. Combine that with the fact Jim probs knows his way around the city the most out of everyone, and Mark has various tactical and strategy skills from the war, and I wouldn't be surprised if they make for a pretty good team all in all. I like to think that maybe, if Jim had no other family (especially given if he did that family probably died in Raccoon unless he moved here when he was younger), Mark adopted him later down the line. Mark definitely got the most blessed out of anyone in that game. So happy he had a proper ending with his family. Despite, you know, his best friend Bob. We can salvage this by playing as Bob. Even if it's not the same. :^) Imagine, Mark and Bob going through Outbreak 1 and 2 together. Cindy got lucky that night, she's not guaranteed to have the shift there. Will always is though. :^) J and Will both got fucked up to the max. Bob being pulled out of the zombie window is genuinely hilarious. Zombies love zombies I guess. I love the concept that you can make one Mark with 2.31 Yokos. I was not aware that block could block insta-kill moves. Seems meaningless however given the metric-fuckton of health it took out anyway. Could he have avoided it or would that be certain death given his speed? I wonder if it's possible to do the same animation-wait skip (between each shot) with Mark's batter up stance that you can do with Alyssa and Kevin's potshots? It's something I'll have to try. Maybe I'll get more use out of Mark than Kevin? I want to believe deep down inside my soul that Mark modded out his own personal handgun. Eventually as the years pass his son and wife are gonna be like "bro why you not aging?" And then they'll realize T-Virus does a number on you. Thanks for the vidya Arek. :D

Still love Outbreak to this day, my favorite Resident Evil Games next to the second one

Mark Wilkins was the character of both Outbreak games that not only didn't think much about him as a character but also i been having difficulties to use his abilities to use on gameplay, nowadays i think Mark is the most underrated of the Outbreak cast. Even though we don't know much about his days on the Vietnam War, his relationships with his friends n family, etc. there a lot of potential for great story arcs about him. David King and Mark Wilkins ending in the first Outbreak game when they fought the zombies until the missiles hit the city was utter badass, makes sense from a story and character respective on both of them.

I like that he can hit enemies behind him with upward hit.

I'm always happy to enjoy some Outbreak info! Only few channels actually go into the specifics and plus it's nice to hear someone who enjoys the characters too. Ahhhh love it

I very much like these videos you are doing centered on The Outbreak characters I really hope that you do more videos focusing on the main player characters of Outbreak. Though in terms of The Outbreak scenario even though Mark is the main character not Cindy atleast Cindy is the main character of Wild Things!
