Side note : I love the way when someone (human or pet ) interrupts Tab she kindly tells them not now. It has mad me question how I handle interruptions. I know work to always be kind. ❤
😂😂😂 you two make anybody feeling down feel lifted up with joy. Thanks for keeping it real. I live in Greensboro NC. Glad you have not forgot your roots. Keep doing what you doing to make all people feel special. Home is where the heart is!! I love you two.
I left my home in Virginia and moved to California in 2012. I’ve been living in California since I was 23 all by myself and now that I’m 34 I don’t regret moving away. However, I do miss the home cooked meals, born & raised in the country. Eating deers, rabbits, squirrels, etc. country good eating lol. I do miss church in the country, church in the city is definitely different from the country. lol.
I'm originally from NYC but my family all moved South. Eventually so did I. I still have some peeps from the 'Ol Stomping Ground, but home now has a new meaning for me, because home does not always involve logistics. For me, it is living in my authenticity and being with people who vibe with that wherever we may be. 🙏🏽💕🦋
I’m so thankful that you all went back to NC and loved your stay there. You are so right, there’s no place like home and people from North Carolina are some good folks!! I am a Proud Jones County (28585) girl here. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Grew up in SC, but husband hails from Jacksonville and we both graduated from A&T. I consider Greensboro my second home. Grew so much there as well as in my faith. We have friends from Eden. 💙💛
Had some good ole days in Greensboro, North Carolina!! One of the best decisions I’ve ever made is earning my Bachelor’s degree at NC A&T State University!! Aggie Pride💙💛
Recently, I moved back to temporarily live with my mother while I finish my PhD program. I have mixed feelings about this move, never thought I would return back to my hometown, and I have to honestly say, that I hope to move out of the South because it is all I've known; however, while here I will make the most out of it until my circumstances change. Tfs
Love this yes family husband from Mississippi so he enjoys showing us his spots and childhood memories . Gods brought him from a mighty long way .. love those moments . North Carolina may check it out .
Our story being taught in history when I was in High School 1962-1966 in Buffalo N. Y., consisted of Dr. George Washington Carver, Booker T. Washington and Mary McLeod Bethune… sad but true. I have been thirsting for more of who we are and our accomplishments ever since. Thank you Tab and Chance for this terrific video, (one of so many). Peace and blessings always. ❤❤
I lived in NC most of my adult life in RTP area, but my mom's people are from Whitakers area. I looked up where you are from and I read you're from Eden. My good friend grew up there and i love that song by Laurelyn Dossett called Leaving Eden (covered by the Carolina Chocolate Drops).
Greensboro, Eden, Reidsville, good places. I'm in Winston-Salem! You always sound like home to me cause I began listening and watching you during the pandemic and now love all your vegan and vegetarian recipies! I've toured the museum in Greensboro and learned alot!
10:15 Thanks for talking about this. I’ve been thinking about the VALIDITY that comes from people affirming (esp those who know a person)!… I’ve always been trying to be mindful of not being PRIDEFUL- but the recognition simply HITS. Relevant conversation. 🌌
My family lives in Reidsville NC! We’ve had reunions there thru the years! If you know anyone last named “Chestnut”, you know my people! Much love to you & your family!! Love & respect and how you honor your “daddy”! ❤❤❤
I love you all and your episodes but I particularly LLLOOOVVVEE this one because it literally hit home. I too am from NC and it’s very precious when I can visit home but boy does time fly when I’m visiting. I am active duty military and I’ve been stationed in locations over 4,000 miles from home for the last 5 years. Time with loved ones is truly precious because we don’t know when we will no longer be around to visit them or how long they’ll be around to be visited. If the Lord allows, I will be going home in July for my mom’s retirement ceremony and I am super excited.
Tab and Chance! This is such an amazing, important, and deep conversation! Thank you for sharing your experiences and insights. Bless your entire family 🙏🏾
Hello family, I follow you guys on all platforms, and I love you all!!! I also was born and raised in Statesville & Salisbury, NC. Thanks for sharing, my husband and I are gonna go and visit the Civil Rights Museum very soon.❤
"There's no place like home" because home provides a unique sense of comfort, familiarity, and security that is hard to find anywhere else. Here are some reasons why home is special: Personal Sanctuary: Home is a space where you can be yourself, relax, and unwind. It's a refuge from the outside world. Memories: Home is often filled with cherished memories of family, friends, and special moments, creating a strong emotional connection. Customization: You can design and decorate your home to suit your tastes and preferences, making it uniquely yours.
This Bennett Belle(married to an Aggie) loves Greensboro! I’m from Delaware(current home). I take any youth with me to the International Civil Rights Museum. I love Fridays with Tab & Chance- never miss an episode!
I had my first boyfriend in second grade, his name was Tony Hilton lol. He was so kind and would always save me a seat on the bus. I had to break up with him though because my sisters teased me in front of my parents when he gave me a pair of fish earrings 🤣 that was in Youngstown, Ohio my hometown. I was blessed to meet this beautiful woman last year in NC and took a picture with her. What a beautiful spirit!!
I loved hearing about your home visit to Reidville NC We live 4 hours away in Virginia Beach Va I am a New Yorker but I have lived here almost 27 years. I always look forward to watching you I even saw your episode on the Upshaws it was great and it spoke into your talk on black history 😊 have a great weekend God Bless❤
Awww, I still remember my 1st boyfriend. I was in the 2nd grade and he was my neighbor across the hall from my apartment. He would bring me flowers and candy and we would walk to the bus stop together! How cute that you two still remember their names.
I know that's right, Tab!😅😂 Don't talk about her daddy.🤭 I'm like that too Tab, don't talk about my daddy!😂 Chance don't do that! 🥹😂 I love my hometown as well, I become a little girl in spirit.🥹❤️

Yes! International Civil Rights Center & Museum is life changing. Our daughter wanted to go for her birthday one year and it was an amazing experience for her and our family.
I was talking to someone in San Francisco, CA who said their child graduated from Elizabeth City State and I said, "Oh great! An HBCU!"🤩 He said, "HBCU?"🥴🤷🏾🤦🏾🤣
My husband and I are both Military children. He was born in England and I in Seattle WA, live there 6 month. We just don’t have that kind of connection. I like listening to your connections.
Dad was giving Denzel vibes😂😂😂😂 You can’t tell Tab nothing bout her Daddy. My Dad passed when I was 8 so I never had the real chance to be a Daddy’s girl; I love seeing the love females have for their Dad. It really speaks to how great the Dad is!!!!
Wish I had known you were in Jacksonville, NC!! I am only 40 minutes from there in Newport. I would have definitely come out there to meet you. One of the items on my bucket list is to meet you and Chance and to chat a bit. Hope I can catch you next time.
I wasn’t sure where to put this comment but I would love to see you make sausage using eggplant. Field Roast makes a vegan sausage like this, I would love to see your take on it
I live in the Winston-Salem area. I have been to the Civil Rights Museum in Greensboro, 2 times and It is absolutely amazing. Each time you go, you see and learn something you didn't realize the visit before. Like Tabitha said, when you hear about the tragedies and the events that happen involving our black grandparents and great grandparents in America and abroad, it is gut wrenching. But we as a black people need to be very careful not to do things(like singing about bringing more love in the world) that will minimize the impact of the dreadful things that did happen to our ancestors especially when we are showing and teaching our children. If so, we will create a generation that will feel and say, "oh, it wasn't that bad." Like Malcolm X said, "we cannot love, not love of those things." It's not up to black people to spread more love and it's not up to white people to spread the love. But need for destruction of an unjust and violent system that maintains white superiority by any means necessary. ❤🖤 💚
Speaking of Black History Tab I enjoyed you on “The UpShaws” knew it was you by your voice. I said that sounds like Tab sure enough it was you. You, Wanda and Kim had me hollering. ❤❤❤
Left Philly at 17 moved to D.C. for a government job at 19 and been here since and retired from government living in Maryland. The family still in Philly but I am mever going back to live I like the Suburbs😂
No need to explain. Nicknames like that are common in our families. We have a Grandma Mommy (what the great grands call her), Uncle Brother, Baby Doll AND a Doll Baby, Tee Tee and Sugarfoot in my family😂
