There's No Place Like Plrtz Glrb: Angel 2x22 Reaction 

The Pylea mini-series is probably one of my favorite bits of the entire Buffyverse.

"They ended it there?" They had to. IIRC, if Allyson Hannigan had been given any lines, they'd have had to credit her as a guest star and her appearance wouldn't have been a surprise.

And they leave Lorne's home world ("hell") to come home to... Willow... with bad news.

The humor gets better and better as the seasons go on... Wesley's now a leader and not just playing as one. He's been for some time, but this episode really put it front and center.

Your reaction when you accidentally said "Willow in Angel" was the best. Many people would be interested in seeing that!

Never heard of Hercules : The Legendary Journeys? The show was huge back in the 90's. I think, though I'm not positive, that at some point it held the most-watched TV show in the world spot. It also became one of the highest-rated syndicated shows in the world back then. Xena started beating it in the ratings & became even more popular after a couple seasons. I grew up watching both, haven't seen either in a long time though. Oh, Hercules was preceded by a few TV movies to act as pilots. Xena was spun off from Hercules & there was also the Young Hercules show with Ryan Gosling that was a hit but still got canceled after like one season or something because it was expensive. I ended up enjoying Xena more, but Hercules was still awesome I believe. Bear in mind that I don't remember much, so if it's crap now, sorry lol. Anyway, nostalgia aside, the Pylea arc was so awesome! I have no criticisms about it. It was fun, funny, & action-packed. It introduced a whole new world & culture & did it in such a way that you weren't confused. I loved seeing new aspects of the characters, Wesley has some darkness in him. I avoid anything that justifies itself by being for the greater good. It was a war though, so people will die. Hope the New Year has been treating you right Dakara, thanks for helping us start it off with some great entertainment. I've been getting some internet troubles so my comment on Buffy & Grimm didn't go through. I'll be sure to recomment.

Yes, it would appear that Wednesday's Sherriff came from another dimension. Sam Rami is one of those behind so many TV shows and movies I've loved from The Evil Dead (1981) to Hercules (1995) and Xena (1995) to Ash vs. Evil Dead (2015), and Legend of the Seeker (2008). Darkman (1990), Army of Darkness (1992), Spider-Man (2002).

And thus closes one of the best arcs in the series... and to close it with that moment as the gang was celebrating their triumphant victory and return, only to be greeted by a sad revelation of the demise of Buffy, in the powerful sadness emanating from Willow... a well executed moment.... the Pylea arc was so funny and so good, and like you mentioned, advanced our characters: Cordy finally accepting her role in the scheme of the PTB and who she has become of it, Wesley accepting some of the hard,dark choices one has to make as a leader, and possibly the addition of Fred to the cast. A ton of fun moments throughout this arc, and just a well written and executed one. Another big CTU for you today, D.....Keep em coming!

I thought in There's No Place Like Pltz Glrb we were relieved to see Lorne still alive, even though is only in head form. The Priests of course are totally evil. More great comedy when Gunn is in the stocks about to get his head cut off. Amy Acker puts is a great performance as Fred (BTW when you finish Angel, you could if you like watch Dollhouse starring Eliza Dushku, Faith in Buffy, and Amy Acker Fred in Angel it's a superb show). Super scene at the end when Cordelia decapitates the evil priest. Great little scene too when Lorne says to Angel that they both belong in L.A. because nobody is actually from there. We were of course so happy for the gang when they make it back to the hotel, but then seeing Willow there is such a shock for them. Great to see you enjoying the show now, as many of us said it really is a great show on its own, but of course is still very much linked to BTVS. Some super episodes in S3 of Angel.

Hercules and Xena are like Buffy and Angel. There is a watch order and occasionally characters and stories will crossover or be shared by both shows. Hercules came first, so you would want to start with that. The Hercules show is (for the most part) funnier and more lighthearted, the Xena show is darker and more somber. They are both worth watching, maybe once you finish Buffy and Angel.

Xena is a corny, somewhat silly, over the top 90's, low budget fantasy series. And still, the characters and deeper themes the show explores are actually brilliant. Knowing you I am pretty sure you would like it. So yeah, I would love to see your reactions to it. Hercules is pretty much the same show... Just with men and not as deep and emotional. It came out first and introduced Xena in a backdoor pilot. Its also worth watching, but not crucial to Xena itself. So it is your decision if you watch both.
