If they ever make a mario maker 3, maybe they should add an option when finishing a level of whether or not you want it included in adventure mode so people don't get kaizo levels that take a month to learn
kinda defeats the whole purpose of super expert, they're supposed to be nearly impossible levels not meant for casual players. Also skip button exists for that exact reason
@@randomentirely1006 Eh, to a degree. some of these kaizo levels take like hundreds of attempts to do, even by the pros, is that something people should expect in a 30 life challenge mode where you literally have to prog them like raids dying over and over cause you don't know whats coming? imo those levels defeat the purpose of the mode, not the other way around. The level can be hard but it shouldn't be a blind prog of tricks most people won't even know. that being said, in this context, yes you can of course skip levels.
Each level should have a unique life counter that should be defined based on its clear rate. Then you should have your own personalized adjust over that (lets say "I want 50% of the lives indicated by the clear rate) to make your game more challeging if you're a pro player.
I know what I'm saying is cheesy, but, I look forward to seeing LilKirbs clear it almost as much as I look forward to the next DGR mario maker video to bring some positivity into my days. These videos really have done a lot to help me destress on rough days, and I just wanted to let that be known.
23:30 - the level clear video is not from one single run. It was edited - seen by the coin count, the timer (hard to see it behind the chat - dang you chat!) and the activated P switch music abruptly cutting out when Toadette leaves doors/pipes. It does show, however, what needs to be done to beat the level. Just wasn't beaten by the person recording the video.
I have to wonder how and why they spliced the video in the first place. It's not like they're speedrunning it, and any small mistake would have made them restart anyways. Plus the video wasn't shot in the level editor, so it had to be clips from a clear check. I have to think the maker just made cheap ways to get to each section, filmed themself doing each one individually, then put them together into a video and actually uploaded the level, which I still don't really get the "why" of.
That’s the thing, Dave. That’s what everyone said about the levels lilkirbs has beaten. Dave, please embark on a new jersey to make a level impossible to realistically beat. edit: yo this is my first top comment. edit: nvm edit 2: 69 nice Edit 3: 96 also nice
Flexing Dave is back. 1:30 - Daddy is gaming. Shut up! 1:37 - What? *dead* 2:32 - I can't believe you are giving up on me. 2:37 - *dead* 2:44 - I still have sixteen lives. 2:52 - *dead* Fifteen lives I mean. 4:33 - With a literation like this, I'm sure it's going to be a good level. 4:37 - Oh Noooooooo *dead* 9:47 - Don't give up on me now. 9:49 - *DEAD INSIDE* And the @LilKirbs challenge moment at 26:15.
Dave, if you need some profanity options, you might consider Ice Cream Flavors like Rocky Road, Mint Chocolate Chip, or Pralines an Cream; or Town of Salem-style things like Tarnation, Pillion, and Flummery.
The "Anaconda" was your old college nickname? You sure 'bout that? Cause I heard it was "The Inch Worm." Ha ha, I like your videos Dave keep it up. UPDATE - after writing this I heard all the grief you got from your wife. Haha, I can empathize and feel for ya. I'm sorry inch worm.
I see a lot of people hyping up LilKirbs, but that level honestly looks insanely ridiculous. If someone can point me toward a video of LK beating a level similar to that, maybe I'll change my mind. But I dont think DGR is going on his wall anytime soon. (If he alreasy beat it, then I suppose I'm extra foolish)
This is why I love DGR’s channel: a gamer that’s good enough to be better that all their friends, but not good enough for hyper competitive play. I relate so hard lol Plus he’s wholesome as heck
Sir, where did the GPW 3 video go? I saw it up the other day at work on my phone and was going to watch when I got home, but when I got home it wasn't there.
@@bradenmulally5209 Tool-assisted speedrun, when it is not a person who plays, but recorded presets of button presses. I also thought about this at first, but then why was splice needed there? Most likely, the author of the level went through this.
Its just the history of the community. Invisible blocks had always been around, yes. But in the official games, they were strictly for secrets only; never to troll and kill you. But there was a super popular mod called "Super Kaizo World." It was basically 'first' in being a released, popular, ultra hard Mario, that featured those blocks used in much more malicious ways.
Didn’t the start of the video literally say it was a spliced run? As in, they synced up the timer, but just went through the doors for each section in separate runs. (So when put together, it is essentially like playing the level, just not as insanely hard as doing it all in one go.)
Only way you're getting that level played is if you go on twitch during his viewer level live streams. Then you have to hope it gets played. Or get enough points on twitch to get it played automatically. Or just ask someone that's on twitch to add it during a viewer level stream

Bro.. I love the whole squabble between Dave and his wife about eggnog. It reminds me that even ol’ DGR, despite all his Mario Maker glory, is still just a man in a typical marriage. 😂
I legitimately commented 100 days in a row asking for an official announcement about the Mariothon recap, and not only did I not get a reply, I don't think even a single comment was read. I don't think he watches the comment section.
@@mike1024. he reads lots of comments but he will almost never reply to anything that is "x days of doing y" just like live streams it gets annoying to see the same question over and over again. As for the mariothon he put out an semi-official statement located here. clips.twitch.tv/EasySneakyButterflyOSfrog-pncpV8ypK7BY3iHD
@@gizanked Thanks for that clip, extremely helpful information! I had a feeling that's what he was dealing with, but I loved the mariothon recap more than his other content myself. It was new and interesting. As for the comments, it's hard to say he's reading comments when I haven't seen any sort of acknowledgement or reply on anybody's comments in months.
12:08 I wish I could watch these youtube videos without being reminded I'm watching a twitch recording and being guilt tripped about "missing out" because I'm a youtube follower instead. Whatever happened to this channel having lots of youtube friendly content? I started watching for Dave's Mario Odyssey content, but now this channel is just watching recordings of a man who is now devoted to streaming and not to his youtube video audience. I like your content and personality Dave (except when you ignore your wife), but please don't make me feel guilty because I just want to watch your videos and enjoy that content. I know streaming is interactive, but so is reading and replying to youtube comments.
Listen dude, I know of a few people who are sick and tired of your annoying-ass rants and constant complaints about Dave's RU-vid content and guess what? Nobody cares how one person who has nothing to say but whiny complaints and nitpicking every thing Dave may do wrong, you can't expect Dave to be perfect, he invites people to Twitch streams because that's his favorite form of content, he gets to hang out and meet people while youtube stream chats are full of whiner and children, invites aren't guilt trips, it's Dave saying he wants to know you guys better, Dave has a family and can't spend every minute making content, so the best form is an edited VOD from Twitch, quit being the entitled wuss thinking Dave should do what you want and consider thinking about how he's a person too, not required to do anything you want...be grateful he even uploads any content, just don't comment every day about how much you don't like his content, find somewhere else if it bugs you.
He's a twitch partner. If he didn't stream on a regular basis his pay would go down. Yeah he gets paid here but not as much as twitch. Probably doesn't have time to do youtube only content much anymore so that twitch is happy
