I think it's important to factor in that these purchases also drive the demand to open up wax. The guy opening or buying the break knows that these hype players low # sells for big money, fueling chasing the opportunity to open a product and win a big payday. Now the collector or buyer is really taking a huge risk here vs an 80k ohtani card but without the folks out there purchasing these ultra modern high $ cards id be surprised if the demand to open new expensive hobby products just took a nosedive. Connard bedard 1 of 1 chase, the zion chase when it was 2020, it doesn't help the collectors pocket in the long run if these guys don't pan out but man does it sure help the today hobby. Theres no 10x +/- going to happen on buying a vet unless something drastic happens like a death or becoming a head coach, scandals ect. The 10x factor really applies to the newer guys that have that upside, in 15 years we go back to skenes being the GOAT id be surprised but id rather go for a 80k shohei card and hold for a world series starting pitching auction or something like that!

The Super is the #1 card of Skenes, unlike basketball which has like 200 “#1” card of each player. 80k seems like a steal compared to basketball.
