The problem about waiting for the stock market to tank 5%-20% is that while you are waiting, it probably went up by the same percentage so you're buying at the same price now as you would have months ago. And if the market doesn't tank, then you're buying higher. that's what they said last year and now those who stood on the sidelines are paying 60% higher because the market goes up in the long term! That's what those who stood on the sidelines in 2009 said and now it's 4-5 times more (or 450% return) because the market goes up in the long term! I bought these on the dips in the last few days. By your percentage explanation shows you don't know what you are talking about..E.G. if the market drops 50% then it would take 100% gain to get back to where you where. Which a 50% drop is quite common in these condition, starting from the year 2000, plus the market is not real, in other words, the market is up only because of the FED'S actions i.e QE, lowering rates therefore causing the TINA effect , not based on it's own merit. It's way overvalued
