@OrderlyHippo When server meshing is in there will be more players in every server instead of only 50 and it means more people could be in a given area during your missions.
Tom has such immense PTSD from everything in this game...Elevators, Delivery Missions...While the bugs can be annoying - these clips also show how such simple missions can become absolute cinematic journeys that bring the community together. Protect the noobs from the pirates haha. Love it.
I've played this game for a couple years now and have absolutely no idea what they were talking about with the delivery thing lol. The most a delivery has ever bugged out for me was when the mission didn't complete one time but that's it.
It's worth a minimum purchase if your PC can run it. Not worth grinding anything yet, but for a couple dozen hours zipping around exploring and meeting random people. Nowhere near done so don't commit time to it as things will eventually be erased.
There is only one problem with the community, too many carebears. Some players, a lot, genuinely think the game should be their safe space and will hurl abuse and utter nonsense at you if your a pirate org that does proper piracy loops like boarding actions and capture and releases. People scream at you and call you griefer for creating content its a very weird mindset and reminds me of attitudes a lot of people had towards bandit clans on Life is Feudal MMO back in the day. beside that, great community.
@@LordKotal If you have a PC it is only $45.00. All you need is a starter pack and a decent PC. Especially in the upcoming 3.17 where performance has been massively improved.
@@LordKotal The game itself is 45$. However, people like to invest in it and buy much more expensive packages. fundamentally the 45$ can do anything the x$ package can
This game is wild. I don’t know if I’ll ever play it, seems like too much of a commitment, but this could be the largest & most detailed game ever. Will love to watch it on RU-vid
Well, there will also be game modes for people who only want to experience the combat aspect and/or want to get into the action quick Theaters of War is basically a battlefield-esqe type of mode which is supposed to be an in-game "combat simulation" (think of the lore explaining Halo's multiplayer mode) of past battles that happened in-lore
@@TheRealPapaBearChris I would recommend waiting for a free fly event like some users have said. That way you can play with no commitment. I think there should be one towards the end of May
Right? People can criticise the bugs and how long it's taking to produce but you can't knock the vision and commitment... it's a staggering accomplishment even in it's unfinished state.
@@jimtaylor431 yea people don't see the achievements this game has over the years and there are possibly much more progress done on the background with squadron42 which have couples of star systems in it.
My favourite series from you lately. Its like I’m watching a tv show. Never played this game but damn I love watching it. If I could like it twice I would 🤙🏼
@@SubsidedLemon Yeah I know, Sometimes its just folks struggling in this day and just can't afford a starter pack. Especially with some of the exchange rates.
Arc Corp is a planet covered entirely in cities. The individual "city zones" are "Areas", not sure how many there are, but at least 18. The main landing zone is Area 18, but you can land at others.
"you can land at others" I'm pretty sure that's untrue, lmao. Area 18 is the only Landing Zone on Arc Corp. You can go to dinky little prefab outposts but 99% of the "city" itself is faked.
Star Citizen: lots of the environment can unintentionally kill you Australia: lots of the environment can also unintentionally kill you …. Is Star Citizen Australia in space???
Absolutely loving the Star Citizen content, every single video has made me laugh out loud throughout! Fantastic stuff, really hope you continue with it! :D
It’s amazing what $45 can get you. This game is easily worth the $45 for a starter ship + access to the game. Just don’t try running it on a potato. Been playing for a month and have 9 ships + my starter ship. All of the additional ships have been bought in-game with in-game currency.
You need to post this more, just randomly on any video. Its short, concise, and truthful. It might help fight against the whole misconception of the funding model, that is to far misunderstood. Thank you for supporting this project we all love, buy purchasing a starter pack!
yeah, for the starter pack you will get your monies worth just trying things out and visiting all the planets, someone should do a video on how long it takes to visit every planet, try roc mining every planet, visit every space station, try every mission that exists. It'd be a *lot* of hours. Check out every spaceship and just have a good look at each one.
@@jarnohaneveld6595 works well enough on my i7 with 1070 :o ;) Just remember to turn v-sync off, and clouds to medium detail, and 32Gb ram + ssd install is more important than a gpu to start with, having a good gpu is icing on the cake
the scale of SC allows for combined arms to be fully realized more than any other game that has attempted it to date. loved the view of the aerial battles above the moon from the ground, it looked very cinematic. the RP section was also very funny too. looking forward to the next installment of the SC series. @@vorpalrobot i want AI traffic at ports to come back, but not be derpy. commercial flights for players and npcs, roads, etc. man we are in for a treat in the next few years!
They flew too low and stayed in restricted airspace too long and were destroyed by air traffic control. It's like flying too near the White House. Was funny though!
You are not allowed to land at ground level amongst the buildings. If you get too low into the no fly zone, you explode. You can land on most rooftops. There is little to do up there, but the views are great. There was a spaceport a few kilometers away from where you were. That was where you were supposed to land.
Dude, the interactions and comms are so funny. Two people can have the same experience and have totally different reactions. Love this. Please Do more when u can.
And in over 2,5 of playtime with several hundred boxes delivered I have never been killed by the Box Maschine. Grim Hex Elevators though are cursed af. They like to duplicate so can't use them to go down and if you go up you sometimes get crushed between the two
@@derhauptmann2359 oh god that sounds terrifying lol, yeah I haven't been to Grim Hex that much recently, sounds like I really do need to be careful then. And same no issues with box drop off points... The boxes themselves however lol
@@Riku-Leela The boxes themselves are scary. Especially when you are in EVA with then and then transition back into gravity... Can't tell you how many times I died because I tried to EVA back into the cargo Hold off my Avenger Titan. Thank God we have the tractor Beam now
So when someone sends you a call, it causes a bug that allows them to see you. It gets exploited a lot. Ships are locked by default unless you are in the same party. You can unlock a ship if you can get to the pilot seat. Flying too close to residential areas or hubs engages auto pilot, but there is also a death floor if it doesn't get you away in time. Need to land at the landing zones for Area 18.
29:18 "what's the story?" basically ArcCorp/Area18 is a megacorporation conglomerate and is one of the largest companies in Star Citizen's lore. they bought the planet from the UEE Government and covered it in city and factories and use the real estate to lease property to smaller companies, which generates even more income for them. in fact, all the planets in Stanton are owned by corporations, that's why some of the names of the planets are a bit strange.
This game is truly amazing. Just a few years ago, I thought their massive and incredible visions could never be realized - but here we are today... There is still a long way to go, and iam here for it. Keep it up, Jack!
Awesome video! At the end there, you got under the Area 18 no fly zone (there should have been a warning on Tom's HUD saying something along the lines of "restricted area ahead/below"), and unfortunately, instead of doing what Tom saw, which is for autopilot from Area 18 to take over your ship's controls and fly you above or away from the restricted area, it instead kills you due to a bug. Otherwise, looking forward to more SC from you!
@@imacuck9523 It's good either way, but I would recommend waiting for the next update which is soon to come out (Alpha 3.17) which is going to bring a couple more features and polish online.
@@imacuck9523 SC is one of the buggiest games I have ever seen, currently. Also, the "fans" (cultists) who support the game tend to mis-represent the performance and gameplay. DO NOT invest in this pyramid scheme. Do some independent research.
The game is epic for sure! But the ending sums up most my attempts at playing lol. When it's an actual release I can see this being huge. Even with the bugs its an awesome game to play.
The pilot likely had a huge warning about restricted area ahead well before the explosion. Many people make the mistake of flying third person too much, you lose a lot of information that way.
That was Tom's fault. The game kept warning him he was in a "no-fly" zone, but he either ignored it or was flying in 3rd-person the entire time and didn't see it.
I was thinking of Day-Z too! Specifically that video from the early days of the mod where a group kidnapped players and made them fight to the death in a gladiator pit. Did Jack play Day-Z back in those days? I always thought he did and I might have watched but never went digging for confirmation.
Which is exactly why they called them. They were exploiting a bug. It's probably within the acceptable limits of somewhat legit gameplay but this won't be possible in future.
@@festersmith8352 it doesn't matter if you pick up or not it still gives away your location. I have ignored a few call only to still have the name tags show up. its the initial call itself that causes the exploit there is no way around it. I just leave server because the constant player icon becomes annoying.
Everything about this game screams "next Gen"... Including the bugs. Love this content, please keep it coming! That half hour video felt like it flew by until it exploded like one of your ships
I love how lowkey chaotic Jack is in Star Citizen. In a game leaning more towards hyper realism with various deadly bugs and glitches still, Jake is just touching all kinds of things and roaming around with zero urgency and awareness. "I just want to sit in it." Immediately fires off the big gun.
Terada (popular SC streamer) is disappointed since 3.17 PTU because, quoting: "I always end my streams with a server crash, but 3.17 is too stable, I've tried everything... I can't believe I say that but Star Citizen became too stable".
@@cabritsanscorgaming sure my pc could more than handle it and I encountered a game breaking bug every hour that set me back 2 hours this game is utter dog shed man
The mousewheel to run, is one of a million things that needs to pop up when you like, first pick things up. Hopefully implemented in the final prodcut. Just that, one off tutorial hint. Excellent video on one of my favourite games.
This was FREAKIN' HILARIOUS. I love your vids, Jack. You guys are so innocent and in awe of everything. Absolutely brings me back to my first experiences. Please keep making them. The ending is absolutely epic.
I'm so glad more people are catching the Star Citizen itch! Been playing the game for like 6 years now and loving every minute. Once it sinks its claws in its hard not to be addicted 😅
I think everyone has a love/hate relationship with Star Citizen. The game is truly unlike anything else, but the development process has been hard to follow.
Mate that's nothing you should see when ya in the PVE event and the capital ship that comes explodea it's fucking awesome witnessing it in person actual game
That’s nothing comparing to the upcoming improvements in the next q2 and q3 patches, regarding to physical damage and vfx that involves this tech I mean, with the physical damage tech and fire hazard tech, this railgun shot can make a hole in the hull, disabling the ship and igniting a fire inside as well
Love these videos! I just love Jacks attitude the whole time. Jacks playing a fully polished game and everyone else is like “careful, don’t press that button….you might die” 😂
@@sprucemaroose yes exactly. I’m fully aware of the state of the game. But Jack just goes in head first, when told the elevator was broken he was like” noo?? Surely not. There must be another way”. Great content!
@@anonanonymous4021 It will frustrate you. Seasoned players know the bugs and how to workaround but new players are often frustrated until they learn them. Either way there is a free fly next month so you could play for free and see for yourself.
@@anonanonymous4021 My advice is the gameplay here is actual, they aren't sugar coating the bugs. It is very playable with limited game loops. Get yourself a base minimal $45 Aurora package and play it, many ships can be earned and bought in game You don't need a better starter. I think it is easily worth more than that amount of entertainment+ and getting more each patch. Overall very little risk thinking of it that way. The in game community is very helpful for new people. Advice: Only play it if your PC is decent. The game isn't very well optimized for midrange or less PC's so it will be a bit underwhelming. If you try it we recommend watching a few tutorials online before hand. For starting city choose New Babbage (Microtech) or Loreville (Hurston). Orison (Crusader) and Area18 (Arccorp) can run a little rough on some machines.
lol welcome to Star Citizen. See you in the verse! The guy who called you was a pirate most likely, scanned your ship and pulled up your names then called. Once you are in a call, you are effectively in a party with them as well which is why their names popped up on your hud. In the mobiglass under the communications tab, you can see and end the call for future reference. But that looked like alot of fun, emergent gameplay lol.
People say it will never come out...People say it only a cash grab.... I believe it takes years if not decades to create a universe such as Star Citizen. This is more than a game, this is a new reality.
Most people who complain that the game will never come out fail to realize that unlike most games that are coming out these days, the developers of star citizen truly care about this game, and will most likely refuse to release this game in full until their vision of the game fully complete. And when this game does end up releasing, I assume it will be the largest game release in history(in terms of publicity and physical hard drive space needed to download). Right now the only thing that holds this game back is the negative publicity this game has from being under development for so long with seemingly extremely little content to show for it, and the fact that you need a pretty beefy computer to run SC well.
These past three Star Citizen uploads from you, Jack, have been some of the most entertaining videos that I have seen, period. Please keep it up, at least every once in a while.
On the one hand I am internally screaming: "Get help from a professional Star Citizen player!!! He will tell you what you should do." On the other hand, well, it is charming how you guys are bumbling from one blunder to the next, not knowing whats going on half the time. XD
What I've learned in time I've spent over the last 3 weeks in this game. When an experienced player says that something is: bugged/broken/missing/unnecessarily deadly. It totally is. Hospital gurney is perfect example. It will kill you almost immediately. Tommy's flat out anger at Jack maybe or maybe not touching him and him dying was hilarious though.
After enough time in the game, you become just like Tom. You have no idea what's going to kill you next. Usually an elevator or someone just standing next to you. It's accidentally become a survival game just to complete a mission. Makes it absolutely hilarious. You never see how many pirates actually come for you, half of them died to their pilot seat, some forgot to put their helmet on before exiting the airlock, and some accidentally found a no fly zone, just like Tom at the end of this video.
