I want as much control over my controls as possible. They are controllers after all and we are supposed to be able to control our characters with them. We need speed adjusters that actually work (looking at MANY Quest games here). We need remapping since humans aren't cookie cutter beings and we all have quirks. Easy to use simple actions like jumping, turning and crouching should ALWAYS be implemented in controllers since not all people can do these things in reality. Oh, as a side note, if you have the space you should try using a swivel chair to aid in turning for those stiff-turning games! That is if you like sitting while playing. I do because I will definitely get disoriented if I stand in VR.
@@ilikestuff8218 I don't need a mat, but I usually can't play in wide open spaces, it seems other people in the house always need those rooms. So I play it areas where physical turning won't work.
Played for like 15 mins and gawd damn it's bad.. came to see if I missed something. I had seen the ads so I knew it wasn't a good looking game but omg it's really the smallest issue.. I never seem to be able to send things straight in the inventory, I tried the circle but it didn't seem to work. I didn't see the game use any of the 4 main buttons, the only front button it uses is the menu button which is for your inventory.. Most of the characters won't talk to you if it's not the right time, like after killing some ants in the tutorial I thought I had to continue but couldn't talk to the guy there, I went back to the elder and turns out all he wanted was for me to kill the 3 ants but like can't the other guy tell me "good job, now go report back to the elder" or something ? I just feels like it's not a real person.. same when I arrived at the base some guy was there but I couldn't talk to him I go back to the balloon guy and he tells me to talk to the dude, so then I go back and now I can talk to him.. like wtf. I don't like how your base is on a separate map too, it doesn't feel like you are "surviving the wild". the forest looks like it's all narrow corridors like it's some n64 game. The skybox is so damn low res and you can even see where the texture ends. In general it really doesn't feel like you are a small person in a giant world, it feels more like a world where insects are giant or something. Maybe that's on me but I was expecting a "classic" survival game where you are in an open world can explore in any direction, not some corridors and stuff. Items like the sword also kinda slide in your hand when you hit things it's so weird. I heard people compare it to medieval dynasty because of how it's ported to standalone and looks rough but medieval dynasty is actually really good, cutting trees feel good, making food is super immersive like you have to physically cut the food with a knife and then put it in a cooking pot and mix it then fill bowls. You have a backpack and a book for quests etc.. it's not really and exploration game though you moslty build your village which is a bit boring for me.. It's closer to stardew valley than something like valheim. sorry for wall of text XD
Wall of text was actually entertaining 😅 I do like this game but like you said, so many immersion issues. The lack of open map doesn't kill it for me due to the balloon. I really liked that. But medieval dynasty should have been the goal that game is awesome. Speaking of thier great cooking, the baking is ADDICTING. I can't keep enough flour on hand. Not to mention, the meat pie gives you nice bonuses which is cool.

I didn't know you could drop stuff into inventory without opening the menu! I tried throwing stuff over my shoulder to a virtual backpack as works in some other vr games. 🙃
I KNOW! I discovered that in the last 30 minutes of testing. Changed the game, but it still needs LOTS of improvements. I can see me being addicted to this if they fix it.
I'm done buying games that release without Q3 optimization. We're to far in the Q3 life cycle to still be getting Q2 ports. If a dev wants my money, make use of the new hardware.
@@superhippieman grounded is an amazing game. Its so beautiful yet optimized and the devs do care and released a major update about a month ago when the game is already 4 years old. So much exploration to do, second playthroughs are rewarded combat is fair and crisp yet forgiving. im at the end of the main story line but i havent gotten to even half of what the game has to offer. plus base building is fun. If you liked anything about this game you'll love that one trust me. And instead of feeling like a mystical land it makes you feel like you legit shrunk down to that size.
grounded is a great game small land has been in development far longer than grounded i only played small land for a bit and its very fun but vr version souds amazing
