A fantastic subject! Well done, Yanasa! Was in remarkable Texas going west from San Antonio and country is so beautiful as the climate changes. Then saw the oil fields north of Pecos that I never knew we had!!! It was awesome!!! And now the buffalo, too!!! Of course God gets all the glory!!!
Fellow Texan here yes TX is a beautiful state you mentioned the oil fields around Pecos they're also down in southeast TX plz vote Blue don't let trump destroy it again. 🇺🇸
I'm born raised and live in Texas, best state , we Texans just need to do something about dallas, Austin, terrible, san antonio, and houston starting to follow, dallas and Austin, we need to fix Texas so it doesn't get worse
No Dallas has to many funny people not ha ha funny either, and are trying to tell people they can't have 2a to protect themselves, houston at this point still can 2a to protect yourself, Dallas has dumbest drivers in United States, and I know I drive for a living, been to all lower 48 states, Dallas has worst traffic and stupidest driver hands down, in United States
@MikeMarshall-uu5bc pure bullshit...you ever drive ever in Houston?! Seriously...how much do yall pay the driver instructors or dmv to get you a license? How about those fucking fake paper plates. And for fucking Pete's sake don't look at your damn phone slowing traffic down, and keep youe brown ass in the slow lane.
Thank you for sharing. Have been in Texas all my 74 years and we love our State. Our Son and his family camped in Pala Dura a few years ago in January. It was so beautiful but very cold. My husband and I have never been . Lord willing one day. Sure enjoyed your video. May God bless you d your family. And God bless Texas!
Thank you for sharing. I really enjoyed this video. The wild bison is such a big part of our history and I am grateful for Bison conservation and this park as a native Texan.
Great Video! Another great place to see Bison is Medicine Park Oklahoma. It is just North West of Lawton Oklahoma. I was eating lunch, enjoying a fall day with my window rolled down and a Bison licked my arm. One of the best memories I have. I also lost a good pair of underwear that fateful day.
They used to allow camping below Mt Scott and we held family reunions there for 30+ years... many run ins with them. I'll never forget waking up to my grandmother chasing Bison away while they were cooking breakfast.
My daddy was born in Texas. We moved from Oklahoma to Texas when I was 10. Sis was 12. Stayed there about 8 years or so. Back in Oklahoma now. Neat seeing the Bison. God Bless. Granny Lee.
My daddy was born in Oklahoma 😊I have always wanted to visit. My grandma had 40 acres outside of Norman it's now underwater. They built a darn it's now a lake. I moved to Texas where my maternal grandma was from.
Caprock State Park is very pretty country! My daughter and I recently visited Texas Tech, her top college choice, and she was pleasantly surprised that there is caprock country like you find in New Mexico so close to Lubbock. 👍
This is such an important discussion, the Bison are literally sustaining themselves, those that become food are sacrificing themselves for the benefit of the herd. Every animal that becomes food for HUMANS is fulfilling its destiny no different than the animal that died due to injury, illness or old age, it too becomes nourishment for birds, wild animals, insects etc.
Born and raised in Texas. Never been to this park. Beautiful country and the Bisons🦬🦬 look peaceful & happy. Good to know that they are still able to run freely like they use to. Running Wild🦬🦬🦬 and Free. L💕vE the video . And, Thank you, for sharing.🤠Richardson,Tx. 🕊️Texas/USA🇺🇸
Bison are are just arround to smash into cars and don't taste as good as Longhorn. You listing to a bunch of hype originally created by Ted Turner who was obsessed with Bison.
I'd drive and stay in meridian when oldest played ball at Mississippi. Always glad to be back. But to see bison, I guess I'm lucky! Just walk out the back door 🤠
@@ArtisanVaquero I'll tell you, Artisan, the few times we've been to Ol Miss we have met the nicest most hospitable people, feeding us great southern cooking! Loved touring the battlefield of Vicksburge.....'Merica!!! Love from west Texas!
My best friend is from Quitique, I spent lots summers there working the cotton fields with his grandmother who in her 80s and was still doing it, this video brought back memories of every summer going to the canyons, Love the video thank you
Great hiking. Fern canyon is a beautiful spot in the park. Best to hike in late February. South prong is a little difficult but worth the view at the top.
Beautiful canyon country, I had the privilege of spending 4 days on a trail ride in the cap rocks . The scenery especially in the early mornings something to see
I live in South central Oklahoma in the Chickasaw headquarters and our native tribes have worked hard to replace the bison herd in Oklahoma and Texas. My maternal Great great grandfather Rodger’s donated the land for Waxahatche Tx and my Paternal Great grandparents came from Lynn county Tx and Crockett Co so my Roots run deep in the Lone star state. It’s such a beautiful place and such wonderful people. Thank you for your great video.
Charles Goodnight is buried, right down the road from there, in Goodnight, Tx. (Lonesome Dove) His wife is the one who helped save the Southern bison herd.
im in southeast texas and near me ive seen a large herd of bison there are Brahma bulls next door also someone had elephants others have timber wolves things like that are moved periodically
The next gift shop t-shirt: Let’s Go, Bison! Will have to visit there, native Texan and have never been there. Thanks for the video, y’all are doing a great job with bison management. 💚♾️💚🙏
I'm not far from someone raising bison near Florence Texas. They're on the same road as my ranch. They're definitely not cattle, but I see absolutely no reason they can't be economically viable. As the State Officer explains, bison being economically viable furthers their numbers and herd health.
FYI, there’s no such law enforcement agency as “Texas State Police”, the guy on camera works for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department as a Park Ranger at Caprock Canyon State Park, and while he is commissioned as a peace officer through TPW, he is not a State Game Warden, he is a LE officer/park caretaker assigned specifically to Caprock Canyon State Park.
True but his ticket carries the same weight as DPS the same as state college police departments, they just have more leeway for situational discretion than regular Leo agencies here
@@jdsr7423 You’re sharing the real reason a Caprock Canyon State Park Ranger/Police Officer appeared on camera for an interview about the Texas State Bison herd displaying his “State Police” ID’d tactical body armor vest; a common insecurity/annoyance because Park Rangers/Police occasionally encounter the misinformed/ignorant/non complaint park visitor who doesn’t properly acknowledge/respect the authority of TPW Park Rangers as licensed peace officers to write tickets or make the occasional if rare custody arrest. A common line used by Park Police to assert their very real LE authority is “Yes this a real ticket, you need to sign here promising to appear before a real judge, and if you don’t you’re going to a real jail”. Countless litterbugs, drunks, stoners, and assorted other law violators have learned the hard way to respect and follow the rules in Texas State Parks.

Oh give me a break. He’s a buffalo cop and can get your butt behind bars. Texas is my home - sometimes we call these guys green meanies, but this one’s got a ❤ of gold!
Have you spoke with Dusty at Cross Timbers Ranch in Sulphur Ok? Very knowledgeable family when it comes to raising Bison . Great video, first time watcher, won’t be my last!
Fantastic video thx. I’m a Texan and wasn’t aware of this. Beautiful scenery. I’m in northern Texas, texoma. Driven through west Texas several times. Looks like that. I didn’t catch the location. You don’t need an expensive microphone, you can just dub over the wind noise or edit it out. But a good cover for mic will help.
It's called a " wind screen", in radio we called it a spit screen or spit boot. Look into it. Keeping mic close to you is also very helpful. Good luck!🍀 ...ol' Texas Radio Man🙏🏻
Thank you for a well done video. Bison are a truly majestic beasts steeped in the grains of this nation. They fed and clothed the native peoples for thousands of years and then slaughtered by the millions to starve and depopulate those same peoples. But today, not only here in Texas, there are other states who have conservation efforts too. Oklahoma, Kansas and others too. And there are both private and public funded groups, some who are native peoples located it the plains states.
@@rjay7019 PBS has THE AMERICAN BUFFALO by Ken Burns. It is excellent. I highly recommend it. There are bison in almost every state, some even in the Texas hill country in the area where I live.
Was an interesting video, your opening has you in MS going to Dallas (which you do ) but then you take one heck of a jump to the Panhandle of Texas, just a few hundred miles to the NW ! and quiet a long drive ! which might mislead folks it's just west of Texas
I lived in Texas all my life and to me it’s not a state. It’s a state of mind. I consider Texas a separate country from the United States… we’ve got it all prairies Mountains Forest, and a very long coastline. I live in Paradise here in the Lonestar state
Funny, very recently had my first bison burger. I was blown away!...not just by the rich flavor, but by the feeling while consuming it. (sounds weird...felt good, tho) Pa., here, & now I'm checking out our local Buffalo Farm...and, isn't this how it begins? :) Beautiful works, Big guy & Co!...We live in a beautiful country, no doubt...Thank you for the scenery of places I may not yet get to experience otherwise. And, it would be truly wonderful to keep re-planting the seeds of such primal intelligence back into the Natures of Life, Here. WE could sure use all help in that aspect as We can get! :D
Hey, I live here in Texas. I need to show you a photo I took of that exact spot you show when you were panning your camera on min 3:20 of the video. Is there an email I can use to send??
Texas is not as exclusive as she portrays herself to be…the Wichita Mts natural refuge park in Oklahoma has had free range bison for over 100 yrs. Boomer!!
Thought I'd never say it, but I second your sentiments... The hidden hand has turned Texas into a police state, the border has been out of control for 30yrs
Texas Panhandle born raised spent most of my days in the grasslands of the Rita Blanca Grasslands working on cows and calves my Grandparents raised alfalfa for King Ranch seems like yesterday!!!
There are pockets of growing buffalo herds all over this country. There are some openergy range, and many controlled herds. Oklahoma has several, and of course everyone knows they are in Yellowstone National Park. I call the Buffalo because we know what we are talking about here in the usa. Arkansas now has a rancher in which they have grown, near Fox, Arkansas.
