I’m sure they know it by now, but that bonus was essentially: “The game will pick ONE of the allies that were collected, and whoever happens to have collected that ally gets a star” Every ally you have is like a ticket, and only one ticket gets pulled

30:20 The Buddy Bonus goes to the team with a specific, but random, ally. Even if you have the most, the other team could have Yoshi (for example) and that would be the special ally.

@@pickledeliveryguy9593 I'm pretty sure it's like if you have Mario as a character and you get Luigi as an ally you'll get the Buddy bonus because their characters that go together easily you have Mario Yoshi Mario goomba Luigi goomba Luigi Daisy and Mario peach I'm pretty sure that's what it is I think it's that go together so if you have like a koopa and Bowser then that'll be one

The buddy bonus star in this game means you have to have the “right” buddy. Basically it will randomly choose a buddy someone got and who ever has it gets the star. It’s absolutely dumb.

Any one of the bonus stars tends to be absolutely dumb, because they get “randomly” selected but the selection tends to favor the lower-place players. Oh, and they tend to favor the predicted winner. Oh, your prediction won? Yeah, obviously, because you made sure they won by picking the bonus stars so they would! Maybe if actually collecting stars didn’t feel so useless it might actually feel like a skill game.
