I’m sure the CEO wouldn’t like the way this headline was written because it sounds like he’s saying there is little legal headway but I think he meant little in the way of legal headway.

It's gonna last until it causes a massive wreck with death/injuries. Lidar is good but has to have perfect weather. Most of all you can't take the human element out of the motoring public. I have personally seen other Autonomous Trucks perform along the I-10 Corridor from Arizona to Texas. It's a rolling disaster in the making. Also you have no problem putting millions of Drivers out of a livelihood. Good job.

@@Maxx61 These trucks are going to fail as soon as they run into construction zones. Those cars will cut them off at the last minute when there is a lane closure, making those trucks come to a complete stop, and backing up traffic. These trucks better stay far away from any snowy or heavy rain conditions...Oh, and I make over 100k as a company driver.

@@montd1906 they've already operated headline free in Texas for well over 100,000 miles in all types of construction environments. No incidents and in all types of weather. Instead of declaring what they can and cannot do, visit their website and take a look at their technology. It really is remarkable. Their lidar is a hell of a lot more accurate than MY eyes I can tell you that and when in construction zones they'll do what any other person behind the wheel would do...slow down and proceed accordingly. It has to be noted that every single accident in the United States last year involving a truck at fault was driven by a human.

@@Maxx61 do you think for one second if they had actual footage of these trucks doing impressive acts, that they would not dare to release it? No footage of it responding to emergency vehicles, no footage of it handling heavy rain, no footage of it handling road construction/lane closures/splits. No footage of it driving in heavy congested north eastern traffic. I could go on for days. The only thing they release is the truck itself, their plans, their technology. Short skits of it driving on a open highway on a clear day with a safety driver hovering their hand above the wheel. They give cute demonstrations of how their LiDAR systems work without realizing the average human is smart enough to realize that we have had planes and drones using highly advanced technology for quite awhile and these companies are trying to merge it in trucks beside us on roads to strike gold but they can’t make that machine predict human behavior. They have solved 90% percent of self problems but that last 10% is kicking their tail. Wanna know how I know? Read everything I’ve said they have yet to release knowing dang well they would release it so fast Dominic Toretto couldn’t beat them in a 1/4 mile race to it.

@@Maxx61yea I wasn’t expecting you to respond to that, If you don’t mind can you send me some of the videos of those LiDAR systems driving trucks through construction closures and splits? Also if you can find some of them driving through school zones and responding to emergency vehicles I’d appreciate that. I already seen them explain the technology and how it’s going to work, they have been doing that since 2016. I also seen what the truck looked like but since they’re saying trucks are capable of driving them selves this year surely they have some videos of them. Can you reply back with all the links to them?

This video is old, This company Aurora recently was back in the news with examples of incidents that can happen on the road, all incidents are not realistic. One of the examples was a car cutting in front of their autonomous semi trucks - the car cutting way ahead of the semi truck, in real life cars cuts right at the bumper of a semi truck, why not show an example of that? In real life there are many scenarios like that. Next is, who is responsible for when an accident occurs - if it is Aurora, they will be out of business in no time. Many people they have interviewed in the most recent ad video, are brainwashed and not intelligent.

So people are continuing to follow the new AI-driven mania. Right into this company and then off a cliff. They never had and won't ever have a solution for the Trolley Conundrum. Ever. So this will always be a dog that won't hunt. Because it could end up in jail. And serving a life sentence.

@@Maxx61 None of these technologies are offering real solutions to the long-standing problems. They will still be legally mandated to include 'safety drivers'. So what then? Build more autonomous-only highways? No. Go back and upgrade and improve train tracks and rail freight services? Why hasn't that been done instead already? This is all a joke. And just more lipstick on a pig. The government simply needs to spend money on infrastructure. And they don't want to unless its to fight a war.

@@Maxx61what made all the other autonomous vehicles companies collapse? What makes this one seem to be the one that’s going to save the day. My thing is in 2023 we can’t even build a car or tv that will not throw out electrical issues but something as sophisticated as this is already perfect and has only been tested with human drivers aboard with Tesla autopilot not even fully legal with already recorded motorcycle deaths. Seem like you have a go getter attitude with your invested stocks to a company making pie in the sky promises right now. I could be wrong tho 🤷‍♂️

@@danielelij6997 Tesla uses radar predominantly while Aurora has what arguably could be the world's most advanced lidar technology in conjunction with radar for an all-encompassing solution. Their trucks have already driven 100,000 mi in Texas with no adverse headlines. Autonomous trucking is coming. There's simply no way to avoid it...we don't have the truckers and the current climate is unsustainable with the average age of a trucker 49 years old. The reason other autonomous companies that were looking at trucks have pulled out is because the gap Aurora has put between them and the competition is considerable. Those departures were simply a smart business decision.

@@Maxx61 yea it’s without a doubt coming, I’m very confident that at some point robots will preform open heart surgeries to avoid human error in the hands of a human doctor. Technology will never stop and only advances but again it’s 2023 and as someone who has worked in towing cars believe me when I say it’s not uncommon as you think for a 2023 car to be towed to a dealership within 10,000 miles with the majority being from the electrical issues due to todays technology in a new car. That’s not even near as sophisticated as self driving. Don’t even get me started on todays TVs either, I just replaced a 2 year old wash machine lol I think in our lifetime we’re gonna be more on the extremely advanced cruise control side of this transition. I could be wrong tho. Once we hit the technological possible side of this, it’s got to go through economically logical part. Yea they’re going to save tremendous amounts of drivers salary but it’s going to be a little more to it. As driving is 80% of the job. These machines are going to be expensive but best believe major carriers can afford them. The will need repairs obviously, hence why Tesla can’t even seem to get it right and I don’t see aurora as the only one able to strike gold to this operation. Hell the cruise cars in SF can be stopped by setting a cone near them. Regardless it’s coming but when is the question we will never know but of course these companies want to be the first to do it and are going to make it sound “oh so sweet” pitches to get that money flow coming in from investors that can almost make it sounds like it’s tommoro it’ll be here. As someone who is fascinated by new technology I just can’t buy the pitch now but I’m always open minded I can be wrong.
