Batteries puffing up into pillows? It's pretty common in much older electronics. You have to be careful if you find something like a 15 year old iPod in a drawer you forgot about. It might be in perfect working condition but the moment you plug it in, it could inflate like a balloon, usually cracking the screen in the process. - This is pretty much my first time experiencing it in person tho. And that battery wasn't much more than 7 years old, so it really should have been fine. Again, best guess is that it was just plugged in for so long.
