Sir Alex is the greatest football manager of all time for not only what he did at Man Utd but also how he transformed Aberdeen in an era dominated by Rangers and Celtic who had won 68 league titles out of 82 between them - Won 10 trophies in 8 years which included guiding Aberdeen to their first league title in 25 years, breaking Celtic and Rangers' 14 year league title streak Won the Cup Winners Cup after beating Bayern in the semi then Di Stefano's Real Madrid in the final and then followed it up with the European Super Cup. Not bad for a team that had to train in the local park because they didnt even have a training ground

As a Rangers fan Fergie was class for that league. All we want as fans is competition and exciting games. Fergie’s management turned the Scottish league into something worth watching. One of the best to ever grace the game.

@Veekshan Sunny Its about succeding with the team you have and even if pep has more trophies than ferguson pep should have always won more based on how rich his clubs were relative to competition. Man utd started off as barely a top 8 side when sir alex took over and then used his skill to dominate one of the most difficult leages for 20 years straight. A league filled with other massive teams btw. In conclusion based off of expected succes and how rich your club is relative to opposition Sir alex is the greatest of all time.

Don’t think it’s fair to compare people like Paisley, Clough and Fergie. They’re all true legends of the game. This is coming from an NUFC fan who loves Bobby Robson. These figures are the people who have built the game to be what it is today. All heroes.

Paisley was a great manager but he took over a very good side at Liverpool and improved them. Ferguson had a build a side from the ground up at Man Utd and Aberdeen. You cannot really compare across era, I would not put one above the other. Both legends

It was never Peps blueprint it was Johan Cruyff’s and it was Rijkaard’s team for a lot of his rein. He just took over. Never gonna get the credit when he’s never coached with billionaire owners. Ferguson transformed Manchester United into the biggest club in the world. And recent success or not they still are.

Any other manager take two teams from the bottom of a lower League to win a Division one title? Then win two European Cups back to back when it was a straight knock out competition containing only other League winners. No getting beaten by Young Boys in a group stage but still being confident of qualifying. All this with a team made up of players that no one else could handle like Larry Llloyd, and Kenny Burns. Genius.
