This really is one of the most satisfying and funniest episodes. Finally seeing someone put Cartman in his place and teach Liane to stand up for herself and discipline Cartman. The sad part is that we saw the potential for Cartman to truly change but that possibility went away the moment Liane started treating Eric as a friend rather than treating him like a son. Her own feeling of loneliness and desire for friendship are the reason Cartman feels like he can do anything he wants as a result of her not having connections and as such Cartman emotionally exploits and manipulates her weakness

It is AMAZING how well Matt and Trey captured the essence and character of a sociopath. The way Cartman thinks and acts is completely in line with that of someone who truly only thinks in terms of dominating others socially, mentally, and emotionally. Things I heard parents say when I worked in education. “I tell him to do ____, but he tells me no.” “He cries if he’s in trouble.” “I can’t stand for him to be mad at me. I’m afraid he’ll hate me.” That last one made me sad. Lot of parents were disciplined so hard as kids that they swing too far the other way with raising their own. But a lot of them are also just idiots. I remember this mom once with twins who were such good kids in my class. She came in after school one day, genuinely concerned. She wanted to know why I hadn’t been in touch about their behavior. I was confused and it took me a while to figure out she assumed they were in trouble every day. I was able to show their behavior charts. The girl was literally NEVER in trouble. She was a class leader. The boy had a couple of warnings for talking. Not a big deal. She insisted they were nightmares at home. She said they were out in the car acting up right now. I walked out with her at her request and they were beating the SHIT out of each other in the car. I tapped on the window and they froze. I said something about how surprised and disappointed I was and told them I wouldn’t have believed it. They apologized to me AND their mom. Their mom said, “Why do you listen to her and not me?” And I WISH I could have told her. Little kids NEED structure. You have to praise the good things they do rather than just rebuking the bad. And you have to piss them off sometimes. Lol. But teachers aren’t allowed to do that, so I just said it was probably cause it was late and they were tired.

What’s crazy is that I see parents in my neighborhood who acquiesce into their toddlers very tantrum like behavior and let it happen, which I think is weak parenting because they’re then being submissive to an errant child. Funny how this episode uses the dog whisperer as an analogy to discipline kids, when in actuality it’s true. People aren’t saying to beat their kids for discipline, but you have to show your kids that they’re not your friend who you let boss you around, you’re the parent and must be assertive to show who is in charge. The ending is also scary because it shows that father figures are important and that lack of having a partner leads to parents projecting their loneliness onto their kids.
@etsap1236

Part of it too is likely guilt. Single parent, busy working multiple jobs according to the show... almost certainly feels bad about not being around as much as she would like/he needs, as well as about his absent father figure what with him having repeatedly asked her about him. Add in being an only child, her too busy to have a social life and their poor economic situation, and yeah. Doesn't absolve her of anything, but it's understandable, at the same time.

Ok, so the Cartman’s dad saga goes thusly: 1. S1E13, the finale, Cartman’s Mom Is A Dirty S**t 2. S2E1, Terrance and Philip in Not Without My Anus. (This one isn’t actually essential but watching it in between helps you understand what the wait between episodes for fans at the time was like.) 3. S2E2, Cartman’s Mom Is Still A Dirty S**t 4. S14E5, 200 (as in, the 200th episode of the show.) The only problem with the black nanny is, sure Cartman might get that ass beat and that'll win her the battle, but let's not forget how mad genius Cartman becomes when seeking vengeance. Remember Scott Tenorman. Cartman would win the war.

You guys there's a trippy movie called Altered States, 1981..that is what that 2 in 1 person of Cartman was borrowing off of. It's an end of movie scene. A professor was experimenting w hallucinogens

Notice how Cartman is one of the only people in his friend group without a father and the worst out the group.

Technically you have seen Cartmans dad 😂. I’m not gonna spoil who it is but there is 2 episodes (Banned episodes) that explains who it is. The episodes are called “200” & “201” if you can find them guaranteed you’ll be shocked 😂
