Yes, David woke up one morning and thought "I think I'll bail today but first I must split the country." He followed through on a campaign promise (not one I supported) to hold a referendum on remaining in the EU and campaigned heavily to remain. The country voted otherwise and he was simply too polarizing a figure to remain Prime Minister. When the Head of Government's vision does not align with the country that obviously, it's impossible to remain.

The scots won't get independence. Their whole notion on leaving the UK is to rejoin the EU, but they can't do the that as Spain will just veto them. They'll be alone and probably bankrupt within 20 years.

Even then, they would still have a better chance of getting into Europe than if they'd stay in the United Kingdom.

Just to give her the benefit of the doubt, she spoke in very general terms. Women do "earn" less than men. They just don't have lower wages. There's an earnings gap but not a wage gap.
