La canción fue grabada en febrero-abril de 1968 y está dedicada a la relación entre Serge Gainsbourg y la cantante y actriz de cine francesa Brigitte Bardot, considerada una de las mujeres más bellas del mundo en su generación. Tras separarse de él, partió para España, en la ciudad de Almería, como se menciona en el último verso. La música fue compuesta por Gainsbourg y fue influenciada por la Sinfonía No. 9 del compositor checo Antonín Dvořák, también conocida como "Del Nuevo Mundo", que fue interpretada por Therion durante un concierto en Miskolc y fue incluida en el álbum "The Miskolc Experience" de 2009. I've enjoyed it every time Therion have gone "off the rails" and tried something new, weird, and experimental - they always seem to bring it back home into the main body of their work and build off it in ways that make sense in the end. I think you can still hear a lot of what they do in this album in their newest album, and hints of it in songs like their cover of ABBA's "Summer Night City" or in "Dreams of Swedenborg". Really, the choirs and avant-garde orchestral stuff that we know and love Therion for, started out as experiments back in the days when the band were better known for Celtic Frost-inspired death/thrash/black metal, and have helped the band grow and evolve in a direction that I think their fans have warmed up to and come to prefer over the long haul. I wonder what Christoffer will pull out of that magic hat next?
B.B means Brigitte Bardeau. She was a model who was a feminist and animal activist. She dominated a male controlled industry, and forced positive change, using beauty and wit. I think this song actually has some pretty deep symbolism behind it. Women who possess beauty enough to seduce the entire world should, and once you have the world in your hands, force the change you want. Strong, sexy women take over the world!
