Just wanted to say thanks for the video. I've only just heard about Thermacell and came across your review. I really appreciate your looking into the toxicity to bees!
I love the Thermacell. Lots of skeptical people out there.... They absolutely work. Mosquitos are horrible at my local dog park. This keeps them away. I live in south Alabama. The Mobile Tensaw Delta is a mosquito hellhole when above 60 degrees. If you are hunting, it's unbearable to the point of leaving. With a mosquito face net, you can see hundreds on your face. I set the unit up next to me and I am mosquito free for about 3 hours. I once thought maybe they just left. Turned it off and oh 💩💩💩. They are expensive to operate. But they are worth it... I am amazed how many people say to me it's just a gimmick and I am wasting my money.
Mine doesn't seem to turn off. It doesn't matter what I do. The same lights stay on and vapor comes out no matter how many times I press the power button. The cartridge lasted about an hour for me. $18.95 an hour?
I wanna buy this mosquito repellent from Costco and flying to another countries. Is it okay if I’m carry this on a airplane? Not sure if TSA approved or not.
I had a dickens of a time getting the cap off the liquid. And it appears when I forced it off firmly with my thumb the wick broke off right at the top of the chamber. I'm not sure if it's still functional in that case
Hi is this better than the Thermacell 2.0? Can you please do the comparison between several of their rechargeable? I have the lantern patio and it works but I don’t like using 4 AA batteries
I do not have a 2.0 to test but the 2.0 has only a 15 feet protection radius and the E55 has a 20 foot so the E55 is better in that regard, which is most important when comparing the two models.
@@steveva7591 Furthermore, the E55 is rechargeable, so no NiCad AA batteries to deal with. :) My neighbor whom lives next to a small creek and in a small valley set this out on the table when we were visiting him. When I irrigate the pastures next to his RV in the evening I get swarmed by skeeters galore. I wear long sleeved shirts and sometimes a skeeter headnet. He set this out on the table, and NOT ONE SKEETER THE WHOLE VISIT. WOW. I was sold right away, and next time we were where the are sold, I bought one. I also ignorantly bought the wrong refills for it, as they were on the shelf next to each other. I think the refills I picked up are for the butane version. I didn't see any refills for this model.
@@steveva7591 I did a little research. Apparently the E-series is a newer version of the Radius and has a 20-foot radius of protection versus 15, but at the expense of about an hour less battery life.
I bought one of these from facebook. It came and the make was Thermaoell and not Thermacell. Everything else looks the same. Tried it and absolutely rubbish, not sure if the issue is that I have a cheap fake rather than the original item. Anyone else experienced this
I do think about it, I just don't really know what other options are there. If you put spray on your skin, your skin will absorb it all, I like the idea of those zapper things, but you need a cord and you can't bring a cord camping so I'm not sure what else to use.
