This is a product review and application guide for Thermal Grizzly's Kryonaut thermal paste which I have just discovered and it's a game changer when it comes to temperatures and overclocking.
I highly rate this bit of kit and coming in at £15.99 at the time of making I'd say it's well worth the investment.

Question for you. I've had an NZXT X62 since 2017. I had Arctic Silver on it on an i7-7700k for a long time and it ran in the 80s pretty consistently I recently upgraded to an i7-10700KF and am using this Kryonaut stuff with stock clocks and it also seems to run kind of hot. Is my AIO just not that great? Even when I run everything at 100% it can sometimes spike to the mid-high 90s. I know I have the paste installed right. I have the radiator top mounted. I'm wondering if I should give up on this X62 and just go back to air.

This thermal paste is amazing. My PS4 sounded like a jet engine. I decided to clean it and change the thermal paste. Cleaned all the dust and used a thermal past i use for my laptops ( i don't know the brand, a cheap one) and the situation became even worst! Today i bought Grizzly Kryonaut and changed tha paste again. I was stunned! I had to stop my tv to hear my ps4 vents, and the sound my system produced in main menu and while gaming ( PES2021, Diablo 3) was absolutely the same! I reccomend it to everyone, you won't be disappointed!

Same dude, I didn't even overclock anything on my laptop and when playing more demanding games it can reach 90ºC/92ºC. THIS is when I haven't cleaned it in like 2 or 3 months. I've also been using Arctic MX-4, but I think it has "expired" as it's getting a couple darker spots and some bits are getting kinda liquid. Also, my room is very hot, specially during the summer (it's finally over :D), so my ambient temp is usually pretty high and not that great for my laptop. I also use a cooling pad btw. I've just used the remaining of my Arctic MX-4 today after I cleaned it and everything and then I'm gonna buy this one to try it out next time. My laptop is a couple years old so it's getting hotter easier than before, so hopefully this one can help with that.

I lost my applicator extension in the unboxing so I just went with the normal x shape with some dots in the squares as per usual. After LTT's test I'm not worried anymore. Used it for my GPU. Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut seems not as strong temperature wise as the Conductonaut. "Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut" But it seems experts say it will damage your gpu or cpu aluminum head! pcgamingbuilds.com/best-thermal-paste "Don’t use these on Aluminum CPU/GPU coolers. Your heatsink will be destroyed by the Gallium ingredient in Liquid Metal." So Kryonaut seems the best option, right?!

@josephtiessen
@josephtiessen Год назад
@@alik5226 yeah the Arctic 34 Duo and the grizzly thermal paste dropped my average CPU temp down about 15c or more. But I ended up ultimately getting a new PC case and then it dropped quite a bit more. Was running about 80C in my old case after changes and now 72 in my new case. I think my massive GPU and power supply was given off extra heat in my case and I couldn't seem to cool it down. But I definitely recommend the Arctic 34 Duo if your running the stock cooler. The stock cooler is garbage. The Arctic 34 duo is cheap($50) but also pretty big though so make sure it'll fit in your case but it'll definitely drop it down a good 10C or more or an AIO cooler would be even better but are pricier. Good luck man, it's definitely a shitty spot to be in.

@josephtiessen
@josephtiessen Год назад
@@alik5226 I'm not sure what case that is but the CPU cooler that comes with the 5600X is complete garbage and cannot handle how hot the CPU gets. I don't even know why they offered one with it to be honest. I would definitely get a new CPU cooler and that should handle it also that CPU runs hot anyways AMD says that it can run up to 90c and still be fine but that just makes me nervous. But you can definitely get it down to 80 and that should be fine or even lower depending on the CPU cooler you get. And when I upgraded my case to a bigger case that helped me also but I got that new NZXT case I can't remember the name off the top of my head but the thing has 10 fans but it's absolutely massive. But you don't need to go to that extreme honestly just a new CPU cooler should fix it and as long as it's not getting close to that 90 it should stop crashing also. Once I threw in the new cooler I could play pretty much anything and didn't have any issues with a crashing anymore after that. Keep an eye on your rise and software also to monitor those temps The grizzly paste should drop it 5 to 10 c on its own but with a new cooler you'll get at least another 10 to 20. But you really don't need anything fancy either just go with something cheap I opted for the Arctic 34 Duo because it has a push-pull configuration and add fantastic reviews.plus I was looking for something under a hundred bucks preferably around 50 and I picked up mine for around $55 on Amazon.

Yea they say its normal temprature for amd but i dont know my pc kept crashing im not sure if its my bottleneck causing the crash or the high temprature because i got an GTX 1050, with an 5600x my gpu also always uses like 100% when i play game and my cpu like 15-23% and i cant find videos that can help me or anything but im guessing its the high temprature causing the crashes.

As it is a water cooler unit shouldn't you let it run for 45 minutes to get to a steady temperature due to how liquid cooling works. In short how it works is it will be colder at start than a hour in but a hour to whenever it stops or a part breaks will be the same amount of cooling

I stripped off the cooler and repasted the gpu using this paste and it is now running much much cooler, peaking at around 62deg C under constant load That’s a 10degree drop, I would not have believed it unless I’d done it myself, I just hope this kind of performance lasts

Right now I have an 8700k running at 1.272v at 4.8ghz all cores not delided. I'm using some crappy paste that came with the Hyper 212 Evo from my old pc build, but surprisingly the temps are 60c under full load. If I was to use the Kryonaut paste, should I expect some decent temp drops? Yes I know a 212 Evo doesn't seem like enough for an 8700k, but for now It looks to be keeping it well within safe temps.

+Ronald McBigD It depends on lots of factors, depends on your airflow, fan speed etc, it just worked well for me. It's upto you if you want to give it a try, my recommendation would be to get a better cooler, you'll notice better temps with a bigger cooler or an AIO.

Kryonaut is garbage. I bought the 1.0 gram package first and applied it according to their instructions. My temps went up over the stock paste from Corsair on my H150i pro on an i9 9900k a few degrees. I thought maybe I just used too much so I bought 11.1 grams of Kryonaut next and also ordered some MX-4 2019 so I could do some comparisons. I just applied Kryonaut twice today, first using the pea method with a very small amount which caused my temps to go MUCH higher. I didn't even test in Prime 95 because my bios temps were over 5C too hot. I then used a very big pea next and my temps were better but still not as good as my previous MX-4 2019. I reapplied the MX-4 and made sure to use around the same amount of my last kryonaut application. After 6 mins in Prime 95 26.6 my temp was 74C overall with Kryonaut. After 8 mins of the same test with MX-4 my temp was only 71C. It consistently rose to 70C within seconds with all kryonaut applications, while MX-4 would consistently take a few minutes to reach 70C, similar to the stock paste that came with the cooler.

@stupaod
@stupaod 5 лет назад
@@88oscuro I re-ran the test today. 74C after only 2 mins of Prime 95 26.6. Small FFT's. Consistent with all my other applications and tests of Kryo-NOT. I'll repeat that MX-4 2019 is consistently 3C cooler every time, over multiple applications. I haven't tried any other pastes besides the stock Corsair paste but it was on par with MX-4 2019. I bought Kryo-crap hoping for an improvement but instead was met with HIGHER temps. This is no fluke. I'm convinced Kryonaut is nothing more than marketing hype and paid off reviewers.
