@@hadhiqkhan Usually the reason for components not displaying in the library list are because you may need to restart PLECS after setting up the thermal description path pointing to the folder containing the XML files, or you are using the incorrect device type to match with the given thermal description (e.g., MOSFET with Diode component versus separate MOSFET and Diode components). Of course, if you continue to have an issue related to this, please contact the Plexim support email as indicated to the previous commenter above.
@@Plexim When I click on the block parameters tab - > thermal, the 'From library' option is disabled. But when I can see the description in the Thermal Library under Windows tab. I tried restarting, but that doesn't help.
@@hadhiqkhan This means most likely then that you are using the wrong component type for the thermal description (which are defined for a given device type). You may need to use a "MOSFET with Diode" or "IGBT with Diode" component rather than a standalone switch (without diode), or vice-versa.
Hello and sorry for the very late response! You can always email us at support@plexim.com to inquire about building thermal loss models for a specific component(s). We may already have access to such data from certain manufacturers, or have someone we can contact to request the data. Otherwise, we can recommend some classical equations to generate Eon/Eoff calculations in PLECS using a few approximations and constant values always given in the data sheets.
These are very basic example files, but lots of vendor-specific models are available for download. A list for many of them can be found here: www.plexim.com/download/thermal_models
