I've been using a thermal printer to print custom stickers to elevate my packaging for my small business on a budget. I design them on Canva and sometimes cut them out of larger label sheets. I recently received a brand new PINK printer from MUNBYN. It's super cute and I hope to provide an updated review on it after a year of use. Thermal labels use heat instead of ink to print which helps keep costs down. The labels have a limited lifespan (usually six to nine months) so keep that in mind. That's why I use them specifically for packaging vs. product labels. There are many label options available now and the possibilities are endless! Hope this inspires you to design some of your own labels ❤
Label printing tips:
1- try to use darker shades of grey or black for all your elements. Lighter colors may not show up or may be too light (unless that's the effect you want)
2-If you don't want the printer to feed a label every time you turn it on, place the sticker in the printer first before turning it on. When you turn on the printer, it won’t feed the extra sticker.
3- If you've tried all my troubleshooting steps in the video to center your design and it's still slightly misaligned, adjust the actual Canva image before printing. That's how I got mine perfectly centered.

Thank you!! I was thinking of you while making this video! So glad you came back to watch it :) I used a thermal printer for all my packaging in the beginning and I still do. I even printed my barcodes and small thank you stickers on a 4x6 sheet and cut them out. Just a few ideas for starting your small business ❤

This was a great tutorial! I was able to print from Canva using your video. How can I adjust the size to print to my 4x6 labels? So far the image is only printing half the size of the label. Thanks again!

I'm so glad you found it helpful! To adjust the size, double check that you've selected the right paper size ie. 4x6. If you've already selected the correct size but it's still printing on half the label, then you can play around with the "scale" of the image. 1.) If the file that you created in Canva is 4x6, you can select, "scale to fit" then to the right of it, select "print entire image" or "fill entire paper". Play around with both and you can see in the preview how it'll look. 2. If your Canva image isn't 4x6 (maybe a smaller size) then you can select "scale" and adjust the percentage up so it fills a larger part of your paper size ie. 110%, 120% adjust the % until you like how the image fills your paper. Hope that helps! Thank you so much for watching :)

Hey, this was soooo helpful! you don't even understand. But I have a iMac. I am trying to figure out how to change my custom paper measurements to mm like yours to make sure the alignment is right but it keeps reverting to inches instead. Do you know I can get my measurements to be in mm instead of inches per your troubleshooting part of your video that you showed?

Thank you for watching :) I'm glad this helped someone because I went through a lengthy troubleshooting process to figure out how to align everything. I use a macbook too and tried to figure out where you could change the measurements, but I think it's actually a system setting on your computer? I'm in Canada where we use the metric system ie. cm, mm so it may be built into my settings. I'm not 100% sure, but if you're in the states, I believe your settings may be imperial so your system shows inches? Hopefully that can help you down the right path to find an answer :)
