@@saltybox1019 you should fucking be playing when this shit happens, when the ww3 starts, when fallout starts, mod creators tried to scare the shit out of us... esp. ww3/thermonuclear war event audios and thermonuc. war event pictures
Its crazy how this plays out/ You sink so much time trying to right the wrongs of the world, and as the nukes fly, you watch as the countries dissipate one by one. In the end, you look at the map. The game is over. No one is left. Earth has been transformed from a flawed but hopeful planet into a wasteland and little more than a tomb world. Very well-executed.
And worse, the descendant of the survivors won't even KNOW what cause of it. Heckle shrug the so called "collapse" even exist. The narration (hidden somewhere after the thermonuclear event) notes that it is very likely they are gonna repeat the same mistakes.
@@TricksterPoi The narration is actually quite hopeful, detailing how they too eventually land on the moon and find a bleached white flag planted by those who came before. It's a world reborn from the ashes and given another chance.
thankfully, nuclear war would not turn the earth into a "tomb" world. Human society would collapse momentarily. But would rise up once again. And the earth generally speaking would be "fine".
@@kurimu2392 Im one of the people who agree. A lot of the paranoia about the effects and scale of a nuclear war are proliferated by people who are either building off Cold War paranoia (which was a lot more realistic) and other outdated theories about nuclear blasts. Stuff like nuclear winter simply isnt possible and thinking that human civilization would collapse without public utilities is bullshit imo. I would imagine things would be close to back to normal within 50-100 years, with of course lots of ruin and a lower population, but nothing too crazy like a stone age or Last of Us world.
@@AndrewJ9673also consider that in these things they act as if literally every part of a developed and promising developed nation would get nuked. Think of it like this, there are people in the Scottish Highlands that own and live off their farms already. They'd need not but adapt their tools to compensate for their machinery not being applicable once major cities are gone. My family used to own a farm and when it comes to animal care and small scale crop production it's not even necessary to need electricity or fuel. The most worrying thing for these communities protected by extreme terrain and distance from target would be the winters and the heating. Something humanity has had issues with since time eternal. If they even have solar panels they can get a good decades worth of electricity too. Nuclear war would stunt civilisation for maybe 200 years before these small communities began developing and reforming across the globe, some with the explicit goal of profiting from the empty lands and fewer people to grow their own wealth.
I hope they dont do that. A part I love about TNO is that it is unapologetically tragic about human society. Germany massacres millions of people no matter what, and a thermonuclear war leaves you sitting here realizing that all life on Earth is gone. There isn't supposed to really be a silver lining imo, but its supposed to make you just kind of wake up and be happy this whole scenario is just a feverdream that never happened. This mod reminds me a lot of DEFCON and taking the themes of that game to an extreme.
@@-WarCriminal-22 I agree especially about them being overrated today, but during the height of the Cold War in the 1980s I disagree. Nuclear yields increased by almost a thousand times. While nuclear winter still probably wouldnt happen, the sheer amount of warheads in the 1960s-1980s would have inevitably started to be fired at civilian targets after military assets got wiped.
I heard that there's going to be some kind of continuation of game for aftermath thermonuclear war in future. And it's quite logical, I mean it's only few countries getting hit by those missiles and only major cities will get targeted, so pretty much few anarchy territories on globe and that's it.
Actually if You Stay Around a Little Events Start Poping Up,Revealing That Humanity indeed Survived,By The end of the event Chain Humanity Fully Recovers and is even Capable of landing on the Moon Again,There They Find The Abandoned German Flag from the Start of The Game
At their peak, the US had 31k warheads and russia had 45k. If we had 3, 4, 5 world powers all pouring resources into nukes following MAD doctrine, that would mean potentially over 380 thousand nukes, and that's not considering how much harder it would be to negotiate a rollback on production when there are multiple countries involved, especially when a good amount of those countries are fascist and have not just utilitarian reasoning but actual ideological precedent to display strength and power rather than compromise.
it’s probably going to happen in reality however if it makes you feel better i believe humanity will survive as a whole and will build a *hopefully* better and new world
@@bluscout1857 i really hope it happens and the Earth just dies, because if humanity survives, it WILL repeat the mistakes. God created us in his image; that was the first "human error"
This makes me feel weird, like how in an instant the entirety of human history was just proven to be pointless. Then ya think about how close we were to nuclear war during the cold war. If things did ever hit that point, most of us would never have been born, the few that would be around would have grown up in a wastleland picking over ruins and attempting to build a life in a bleak world with the almost impossible dreamlike idea of what the world once was,

Imagine this right. They have a owb's mod for hoi. They should make a post nuclear apocalypse mod about if ww3 happened in the tno universe. Just an idea
@@botelladeaguamediollena4885 Cold war probably would've never happened. We would have just immediately gone to war with the Soviet Union without thinking about it because nukes were the one thing that scared us out of war with eachother.
