Dan, your channel was responsible for rekindling my love of camping and using my mind and tools to make outdoor life more comfortable. I was a scout in the 80s. Been watching learning applying and teaching the skills I learn from you for about 4.5 yrs now. It’s always an adventure with you. Thank you. I don’t comment much, but I love the work you do, I teach it to my son and my girls kids. An several tips of yours have saved the day. My gf even went on a “girls only camp out” her buddies were looking for a plug and outlet. My baby. She pulled out her knife I helped her forge, and a ferro rod. The kids gathered wood, and presto! There was a quick cook fire. The pot hoist I forged and para cord kept them fed and warm at night. Learned the application from you. So from my family to yours thank you so much.❤
Post script: Today was my step daughters 6th birthday. I worked from 0600 to 1500, my ex brought my son (same age) to my workplace, and we rolled out through a massive thunderstorm. He used the lensatic compass he got for Christmas to know where we were headed the whole time. When we got to the state park, he hand delivered his step sisters gift and then proceeded to lure all of us, with his brothers help out to the lake, and could tell me directions from the recently showing sun, and used my pocket knife to show all the kids a makeshift compass. It is and was a proud moment for all of us. My girl an me, we raise warriors and hunters. My son and the apple of my eye worked out a full trail map today. I could cry. If I’d never sold my tear ducts for a roll of bank line and a new draw knife😂

I am hetero, but I do not have a problem with these ppl. living the lifestyle that they want to live and don't understand why people like you do? Who gives a rat's ass what they do? They are line .0017% of the population. Let them have their rights and be done with it. Why is it any skin off your nose? It does in some cases remind me a bit of the scene in Monty-Python's film "The Life of Brian" where "Stan" wants to be called Loretta, but so what, who cares? Even if it is a fantasy or a delusion on their part, what does it matter? I mean, we have had belivers - Jews, Christians, Muslims, Budhists, (e.g. religious people) engaging in other kinds of more harmful and hurtful delusions/fantasies for Centuries and that never seemed to bother anyone, so why do people like you get all bent out of shape about a few people, who want to change their gender? I do not get it. What is the big deal. Please explain it to me.

I was instantly a fan of your T6 Zero tarp, and bought one of the first runs you sold. It stays in my day pack and backpacking kit every time I'm out in the woods, just in case I need a quick shelter.
Way to go Dan. Congratulations. I enjoyed the fact that all of your favorite gear holds a sentimental value. Over time it's almost like we form a partnership with some of our kit. Those pieces that are always there for us providing assistance when needed or giving comfort just knowing it's there ready to serve. I've become a big fan of yours. I have a LOOOT of stuff from I call camping/bushcraft. Tarps, packs,knives, hatchets, saws. One of my favorite knives is a Morakniv Scout. Me and my grandson watch your channel every week,and I try to get him out in the back yard as often as I can. Congrats o n the 10/1000 day! I hope you have many more!
I started following you after your videos with Townsends and have learned a TON from you! I’ll be passing this knowledge on to my kids and their friends, and will be one of the guys in the nursing home still watching you talk about bushcrafting between pudding cups

Thank you and congratulations for your 1,000th video. Great review of key items. I too have a few items that date back to the good, old days. There might be better available today, but I doubt it. In addition, I got them when parents and grandparents passed, so the cost was zero, the value is immeasurable, and the memories are priceless.
You’re one of my favorite bushcraft teachers on You Tube! Just wish some of your videos were longer though. Congratulations on a 1000 videos!🤩 I hope you go down in You Tube history like Ray Mears and Dave Canterbury, to name people I personally follow. You seem to have an open mind and know how to teach stuff that is easy to follow, even for this retired Marine!😂 I finally got the Truckers Hitch down after watching your video. I have moved on to the Australian Truckies Hitch, of which I am trying to perfect now. I moved away from having to carry a hasty ridge line premade all the time. Another You Tuber I like is Canadian, “Kusk Bushcraft”, who teaches some simple knots to set up a tarp using the cordage you have with you. He also does some great bushcraft and survival videos for being a younger fellow. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and skills with us all over the years. It means a lot to me and has come in very handy on many occasions. I live in Arkansas, but would love to come to one of your courses just to learn the bow drill fire alone, because I know you would teach it well enough for me to get it down.
