Trading Trae instead of DJM is like trading Steve Jobs instead of another software engineer because you can get more value for Steve Jobs… Anyway, Clint is an easy trade cuz he’s an expiring contract. I think him and ol boy from Detroit in a trade can bring back a solid 3nD guy. Also, not mentioned is the 25mil trade exemption from the JC trade that we have to use soon. That could be used to get an even better 3nD guy or help facilitate a bigger name star to come n play here.
I hate how our Fanbase doesn’t realize how good Trae Young is. He’s a top five offensive player in the NBA. I don’t care about his defence if we surround him with defense.
I enjoyed your comments they were insightful, the only thing i disagree with was trading dejounte instead of trae, it was painfully obvious the team plays better defense with dejounte, keep up the great job.
@@ATLSportsZone Base on his salary it's going to be very hard to trade him as well,so from that point of view, i wouldn't be surprise if he's still here,
You're not going to find a deal this offseason for Trae and furthermore Dejounte didn't take us to the ECF and he damn sure didn't win us games during the stretch that Trae was gone, Dejounte doesn't run P&R schemes as effectively as Trae and that'll be crucial in Sarr's development, you wanna trade Trae because DJM played slightly better defense? Look at the numbers man, this team will be worse off with Dejounte running full point.
The team doesn't play better with Dejounte. Team was a bit better for 2 reasons, you were playing 1 small guard who can't defend as opposed to 2. So that drastically helped the defense, though the Team's scoring dropped without Trae. The other thing was that Clint Capella was drastically better after the all-star Break than he was before it, and that helped the defense as well.
We need to get AJ Griffin back going too! He was one of the best rookies in his first year.. then under Snyder he just benched.. he's a 6'7, 6'8 3 n D guy we could use
Since the possibility of drafting Sarr is feasible and Trae is the better guard to pair with him, Murray can be traded. Bufkin can backup Trae. Move JJ to the 2 spot (though he can play 3 as well) bring Vit off the bench to relieve him. Put Hunter at 3 with Bey at backup. Wu and Fernando can play 4, while Sarr and backup Gueye are your centers. Murray, Bogi, and Capela should be traded.
I agree with your list I would make a few changes I would do the Ingram trade and also try to add Dyson Daniels he’s a big guard with good defense for dejounte and OO. Instead of the Duncan and nikola I would make another move for defense by trading hunter for Matisse thybulle and add Robert Williams just for salary matching. Also I would try to resign bey for the most team friendly deal possible since he got injured and I don’t know who well he will fit with the new team
These are some really good suggestions. If we are able to get Dyson Daniels then I am all over that. I also would agree with the Thybulle trade. Like your analysis. Thanks for the comment!
Completely in favor of getting Sarr, trading for Ingram (as a second playing creator on court) and looking for someone in return for Capela. But I would not trade Hunter, as he can play both forwards positions in today's NBA, is a good defensive player, shoots well from three. We must not forget that Bey is out for the season.
He fits the Hawks more than he fits the Pels, this team needs size and shooting, I do believe Quin can help Ingram with the latter but it's definitely a high risk high reward move, regardless you don't go into next season with Dejounte still on the team so if Ingram is the best we're gonna get then it's a no brainer.
What team is scrambling to throw picks and assets at us for Trae? What team even has picks and assets that are simultaneously in need of Trae? DJM is the easier contract to sell and the less talented player at that, you don't trade your best player because you fear him walking, you give him reason to stay. There's no situation where Trae goes to a new team and immediately contends, he knows this, he'll stay unless we give him a reason not to.
DJ also has very friendly contract too. I can see other teams wanting DJ. I like BI better than PG13, but BI wasn’t what he was a year ago…. I’m afraid he has peaked already. Idk how big of an upgrade BI is compared to DJ. I also like Sarr at 4, rather than 5. He is lengthy blocker who can move to guard perimeter and paint, but he will not win any box outs. Maybe in the future when he bulks up. I like to see Trae & Kobe at 1, DJM(or BI or Og) & Bogi at 2, JJ & Dre at 3, Sarr & OO (or Gueye) at 4. Hawks should trade Capela for picks or other players, but until then Capela and Bruno at 5. Hawks need a physical big man at 5 who can use his size to protect paint and bully ball in the paint. OO is strong for his size, but idk if he can stay healthy playing against other bigger players. We should also keep looking to add 3&D players. Good video though. Go Hawks!!!
Hunter came out of his shell this past season. But it's difficult for him to play his game with ball dominant, shoot first guards. Like John Collins, he's been misused or underused when available.
I agree with you 100% I was literally ranting this to myself yesterday but I think Bogdan Bogdanović needs to be dumped too to move the money around and build a more in depth roster all around the salary is struggling with them not even averaging 20 ppgs
Actually trading CC and Bogdan is a better option, I wouldn't trade DJ for BI, the numbers don't match, DJ makes 17 BI 32 million, trade CC and Bogdan for BI those numbers match
@@ATLSportsZone I totally agree, I think we can pull off 2 trades, Bogdan and CC, and I think Trae and Spida would be a good fit, but we'll need length the SF position, that's y I want BI, Trae, Spida, BI, AJ, JJ and Sarr/O, with Kobe, bey, Dre, Vit, Bruno, Trent, Lundy and Matthews on the bench, I would consider trading DJ and AJ also if needed, Gueye is a beast our Ace in the hole
1st, Miami aren't trading Jovic for Hunter. Jovic is on a rookie contract, and Hunter's contract (20 million for 3 more years) is considered bad because he's always injured and his best year, last year, he was best off the bench. And he's not a great defender one on one. Good team defender now, & is good against similar sized players who aren't fast, like Luka or Kawhi, but that's about it. Anyone taking that contract we'll have to add something too it. Also Hawks had a top 5 shooter in terms of percentage last season in Garrison Mathews. 2nd, Sarr wouldn't play starting center at 1st next season, as he's not built enough yet and would be better as weak side protection, like Aaron Gordon. He'd play power forward early.Chet Holmgren is taller & didn't play until his 2nd year, & he still has problems with the physicality of Center. You have to hopefully keep Onyeka as the starting, and hope that his 3pt shooting the 2nd half of this Season was true. Then you can play 5 out, and he, Jalen and Sarr would be able to almost switch anything defensively. Be a defensive nightmare vs teams. Paul George is old, & a free agent, and wouldn't fit the Hawks timeline. (Trae is 25) Pels do need a point guard, Valenchunas is a free agent, so they'll need a Center, and they don't want to pay Ingram a max, or anywhere near, so they probably would trade Dejounte and Capella (who's on an expiring contract) for Brandon Ingram. But Ingram would probably be best as the starting 2 guard. Ingram has played 2 guard for the Pelicans & Lakers. When he played with Lonzo Ball, he did shoot 40% from 3. Only thing is, how'd he hang on defense if and when he had to guard point guards. Even though his length would help. If Hawks want defense 1st at that position, maybe a trade for Lou Dort of OKC. Backup point guard is maybe Kobe Bufkin, Rest of the bench is Bogi, Hunter (if he's still here)Vit Krejci if he resigns, Garrison Mathews,Mo Guye, & Bruno Fernando. Maybe you also resign Saddiq Bey, though he won't play most of next year, if at all. Also if you want to get creative, guys like Josh Giddy, and Jarrett Allen might be available. Also, if you draft Sarr, you're definitely keeping Trae over Murray. Trae is one of, if not THE best lob passer in the league. He's the point guard who'll put Sarr in the best position. Unless it's a simple read DJ isn't making that pass. Jalen is a better pure passer than DJ. So if you get the Big, you keep Trae.
They have scorers but they don’t have reliable scorers. I agree the defense needs help but there were some games where we struggled to put the ball in the basket
Trade cc bogi for Ingram trade hunter and bey for bridges then pick sarr with number 1 then would see if we could get a late second round pick for edy ware or a back up centre then see if we can pick up tyrus jones from Washington then trade Matthew’s vit Matthew’s 2 for a second round next year then fill rooster with vets So our starting 5 Trae Bridges Ingram
Trade saddiq bey for Josh hart bro and trade Deandre for Duncan Robinson and trade dejounte for Ingram. Trade Clint capela for somebody on the pistons. Starting five PG:Trae SG: Josh hart SF:Brandon Ingram PF:Jalen Johnson C:Alex sarr
My only disagreement is that we should move Trae not Murray.Think about it!!! Sarr, Ingram , Murray, JJ, Hunter or Bey is a lethal 5 man starting squad with no weaknesses on either end of the court.
I really don’t hate this either. I think a core of a point guard Ingram, Sarr and JJ will be lethal. We can use Trey for additional bench players as well!
You’re a prisoner of the moment. We went to a conference final with Trae, not Murray. Murray is good. He’s not a guy who’s the centerpiece of a championship caliber team. Trae has already proven he is. You move Trae, you’re rebuilding-period.
@@dukeonwheels can’t burden one player with offensive load anymore. U saw what happened at conference finals. Here you got at least 2 potentially 3 players who damn near unstoppable
