Setting up and running a grind for a Great One or for any trophy in The Hunter Call of the Wild can be a tough thing to do, especially when you've never done one before! In today's video, we go through SIX THINGS that you definitely DO NOT want to do or it COULD RUIN your GRIND!!! Enjoy the journey and the only advice I can give people is just to take your time. Hunting early game really is about patience in my opinion, Take shots you're confident in and eventually you'll rack up trophies faster than you think. The one thing I noticed my friend was doing wrong was just taking the first shot that he could instead of taking the time to reposition or wait for the animal to move.

Tip for new players. Set up a croc grind and use it for money grinding. They are easy to kill once you get good at hitting the neck, as a preditor you cant blow out their zones, and I've found it easy to just plonk a tent onto the zone and pop from zone to zone shooting the buggers (they are stupid slow about running away).

Great video! For tahr, although you don't need all the feed zones I find it does help with getting bigger respawns. Shot down loads of zones but was still only getting small respawns in my main zones. Went out and found a bunch more zones that were stuffed with big males, including a nice diamond that must have been sitting on my map for ages! Now I'm getting a lot more level 4 and 5 tahr in my main zones again

I'm basically working on doing the same right now. I got my first 3 diamond tahr this week. Zones are starting to fill up with 2s so I've been shifting tents around and looking for new decent zones

Well timed video since i am just starting my first grind with the moose on layton. It is taking me 10 hours to find all the drink zones though. Any tips to speed this up? I am already just following all the rivers and stuff to find them

With white tail do you only shoot baskets or do you shoot stickheads as well. With red deer, do you shoot only racks or do you also shoot stickheads?

I know it isn't what you asked, but I'd absolutely kill for a lion G1. For the ones that do exist, I'd love 1 of the 2 moose variants that have the gray/black fur, unfamiliar with the different rack types that qualify Also the game definitely needs more multi mlunts and lodges, they add so much to the game, a more uniform and symmetrical lodge with more Xl head mounts would be great

A great one Turkey would be amazing. I have buddies big into Turkey hunting, and they always have stories about the massive Tom that is always just out of range or gets spooked. So it would make sense to make a great one Turkey

Any animal on any map will stay there in it's zone until you shoot it or someone does (if you open your map to mp) or until EW does an update and resets that animal species which doesn't happen very often. Nothing was reset last update

i only have 23 drink zones for fallows but i have multiple zones with 3 herds in that zone, what should i do, im about 600 kills in with 20+ diamonds, and 3 rare furs

Dont shoot anything in the mega zones that shows up as a 2. I have a mega herd with like 8 level 2 males in it. Diamonds started spawning like crazy after i shot that zone down.

why is Med Ved the worst map ever? i can go back to my zones over and over and no animals ever. the whole map deleted all my zones and tents, tripods, stands and nothing was returned to my inventory. map now looks like it did day one, oh and all pressure completely gone. any idea how to get the lost inventory back or do i just accept the loss. after years of playing COTW i will never waste any more time or money on Medved .

Too much information, brain hurting. So... you need to run all over the map and find all the drinking zone for a particular animal otherwise spawn zones get messed up and you have to go searching again? I've been shooting everything (except Trivial and Minor) I can find to try and level up my Skills and Perks and get some cash, and apparently in so doing making a huge mess of spawn zones and wasting a lot of time... man I feel like a noob. Never know this game had so much complicated rules.

If you don't have all of your drink zones (for herd animals), you will get inconsistent respawns, yes and will have to go find the rest of them in order to get your respawns to work properly

I've just shot my first ever great one red deer ❤ But I have to say..... He spawned in that one zone where I don't pick up my kills (I'm shooting it down). And I thought great ones don't spawn from animals when you don't pick them up, but he spawned in that exact zone.... PS i am picking up all my other kills, just not that one zone that I hate and want gone anyway

Hey LadyLegend, I have a question about my moose grind. I'm currently on the preupdate version of the game and I've been grinding for over 2 weeks for a great one on Medved. What level of moose do I shoot? I've heard to shoot every level 3 and above, I've heard to shoot 120 or higher scoring moose, I'm so confused, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ew should make a map that is both the south and north poles. It would be 2 maps that both have different animals but be sold as a bundle (Some animals could be penguins,polar bears,seals,puffins,snow foxes e.g)

Guys I need help I like to duck hunt and goose hunt but recently the decoys and stuff have been weird like the duck's land on me and spook so I can only ever shoot 1 per flock maybe 2 if I'm lucky and geese go very far from the decoys so I have to use a rifle it never used to be like this is it some weird update I've moved the decoys the blind and everything but they always land very far or try to land on me and it's sooo annoying

My 2 lakes at the top for fallow deer on the te Awaroa and there all herd of buck no females and the zones say female when I shoot any of the buck my zones disappear but I have constant respawns of herd of buck. Is that good or bad idk

While watching this video i accidentally hit and killed a cow moose on my grind. Now my moose are not spawning in well. Guess i need to run the map and find where the moose went. My best trophy is a great one moose spruce with the typical rack.
