Hi Paul, after watching your review I bought this, I have truthear nova too, I'll say nova is a bit more enjoyable because of its super smooth presentation but this has slightly better details.
I've only tested the SM4 from this list, but the Oriveti OD200 is also a great set and a little more affordable. I do prefer how the SM4 is tuned over that one though. Planning on doing a comparison sometime.
amazing video . I've bought the sm4 few weeks back and it has been a amazing upgrade from my TH zero red i've been using it mainly with my jcally CX31993 dongle dac with my phone the quality is amazing and quiet satisfactory will i feel a significant upgrade if i invest on a better expensive DAC and if the differnce would be significant please recommend some
Absolutely! Because of how transparent it is with equipment, I had a lot more fun listening to these with my desktop setup. These sound great with the iFi Go Link I've paired it with, too. Feel free to give my review on it a look if you'd like to.
Checkout the video by Jays Audio a few months ago where he and a few other fellow audiophiles test the Supermix 4 and compare it with other $300-400 IEMs like the Dusk, Pilgrim, Hype 4, and the SM 4 came out on top. That was before Simgot revealed the retail price and people thought it was a $300 set considering its sound quality. That's how competent the SM 4 is. The EM10 is an upgrade to this.
I have no idea. All I know is that these sound absolutely phenomenal with my desktop setup. I did drive these on Low gain though. High gain I wouldn't recommend since they're as sensitive as they are, and high gain can introduce a noise floor.
tube amps are generally more noisy and have higher impedance output than solid state amps. Wrt noise, iems are more intimate and detailed listening and more noise from the amp is contraindicated. Wrt impedance, iem generally have low impedance like 16ohm or less which is not an optimal match for tube amps of 300ohm output. Hope this helps 🙂 Edit: there are always some expectations, which i forgot to mention earlier 😅
These iems are 7ohms, so it would either be too bright or muddy. I'm guessing bassier, because it sounds amazing on my btr7 4.4 port, which is 2.8ohms. I'm guessing the people that say it's too bright are using an apple dongle or something really low. just a guess, or unit variance.
Hi Paul, sorry to be asking this question on an superior iem review, but I don't see your review of the truthear Crinacle red ones. My friend buy has been the wan'er SG but I'm itching for more bass. This one's great for most stuff I listen to except heavy metal. My OPPO enco 2 neckband is much more punchy. So I need your opinion on the project red to see if they are more bassier than the tangzu SGs. I need more expertise before I climb to sm4 level quality as well as price. I'm just a week into IEMs and its getting addictive already. My entire RU-vid feed is full of iem reviews already. Now my partner wants me to buy her these too. Expensive indulgence.
Yes, it can be an expensive hobby 🤣 Sadly, I haven't had a chance to review the Crinicle Red IEMs, but I've heard good things about it. The oppo set you're using will be a bit on the bloated side compared to IEMs, but the punch will be from the upper and mid bass regions. IEMs usually don't have that much punch for various reasons, but I've found the FiiO JD1 to have good enthusiasm there. If you're planning on going for the Simgor SM4, it's a one-stop shop. Great for all genres. Everyone I've handed it to, to try out, can't believe how enjoyable a set of IEMs it is.
@@PaulsPOV yeah but I'm afraid to commit such a large amount so soon as I don't know if I'll like it. What do you think of the kz castor for bass, especially for heavy metal music. I want to re-live some of my college days, I'm now 52 😎
I've heard good things about the castor, but sadly, I haven't gotten my hands on one for review just yet. A set I really like is the KZ ZSN ProX in that price range though. Very dynamic set of IEMs.
@@PaulsPOV It would be great if you could make that comparison, as both IEMs are impressive. It would definitely make for good content, and I hope you have both of them on hand.
Truthear Gate vs Headphoneszone × Tangzu Warn'er vs Moondrop chu 2 dsp Which one better for 1.Movies, 2.online class, 3.Music , 4.calling ? I have Realme 9 pro plus, Realme Pad mini and Apple iPod Air 5. And What about Fiio jd1 dsp! Please Suggest me better iem Budget is ₹2300
Sadly, I haven't tested the Gate or Chu2 so I wouldn't want to give you any wrong information. Have a look at my review on the FiiO JD1, it's a good all-rounder.
Hi #paul's pov, please review realme buds T310. Eagerly waiting for your review. My requirement decent sound, good calling device. Please post the review soon
I don't have any immediate plans on reviewing it. The last realme I reviewed was the Air 5 Pro, and I quite liked it. I think it's been going for some really good discounts lately. Feel free to watch my reviews on it if you'd like to.
