It refers to shell shock. Basically after WW I some soldiers were so traumatized that they developed somthing called shell shock. They'd shake uncontrollably often described as "Shaking like a dog shitting razor blades."

That whole album has a lot of weirdly worded lines but that one is up there lmao

I'm 90% sure the "daddy" in the song is just the girl's current bf. Since the two of them have an implied sexual relationship ("can he do to you the things that I do"). That sort of language was more common in the 80s before we all collectively realized it was weird and stopped using it.

Factor in that it's from the perspective of a baby and all it is, is a little bit zany, something not a lot of other people might think of writing and it really ain't all that nuts

But one person's 'strange' might be another person's 'original' might be another person's 'progressive' might be another person's 'interesting' might be another person's 'zany' or 'funny'. It really ain't to biggie to me. Those are the lyrics. I don't really much care. I greatly appreciate their music. There's always been people out there trying to be way more oddball than Faith No More. Frank Zappa, for one. Then there are people like Unknown Hinson with 'I Ain't Afraid Of Your Husband Baby' who I find really funny ("He don't scare me none.. And he sure don't scare my gun...").
