I know... I was coming to write the same thing... lost half credibility in the first minute... Though, to be honest, there seems to be only one amplifier, so the one has the amp and the other is passive. I don't know if anyone can confirm this, but it looks that way from what I see.

But at that price it will be shit single amp per unit for each two speakers. In a decent studio monitor there will be bi-amps one for each speaker and a very tight crossover to ensure accuracy between speakers. You can't do that for less than £100 per speaker. These are combined amp and speakers and should be marketed as such. They are not flat response studio monitors as they are being advertised as. Luv and Peace,
@wishandwatch

@@ianedmonds9191 - interestingly(and i agree with you) I bought my JBL 305's for $100/each(almost contrary to your point....but black friday don't count, right?) and they have biamped speakers....separate for tweeter vs. woofer. I had totally forgot about that until i saw you make that point. So it can kinda/almost be done but hard to find. I have a pair of the Eris 3.5's and would not ever want to use them as 'studio' or 'reference' monitors. more like a glorified a/v or MM speaker. Not really worth gaming on either...not that i would. and they're certainly NOT flat response...very colored.

Presonus Eris 3.5 is a great monitors. High quality video. BUT...... I think you are misleading some beginners, you keep the "acoustic tuning" to zero, doesn't mean you will get the flat sound. It base on where are you using it, maybe you have a good room will not make the sound's low or high change much. What if in a small room? big room? place it very close to a wall? A room without any acoustic design? It should be adjust for difference room where you're using it.

I never used any of these but by reading from the specs on these pair it said that it go as low as 80Hz while this video shows that it can get as low as 50Hz.. As for my thinking, that should be decent enough for Trap genres. I love my Presonus 3.5s, I think it's a myth that their bass response is poor. To my ear they slightly enhance lower frequencies like especially drums and bass tones. Drums are the hardest part of music production so I love this character. You will hear superb drum rolls and the real sound of acoustic toms jumping out! A great choice for your general playback in smaller flats and apartment setups. Perhaps a bit of semipro mixing as well if you cross check them against Senheisser headphones.

I use Presonus as my main speakers for mixing. And have Mackies. But they are hard to rate because bookshelf speakers suck. Good speakers in the 70s, 80s and 90s with horns, bass reflex and a decent amp had a big sound and big magnets. Little plastic and steel speakers do not. And artificicially bossing them wont help. I have to settle for Sony MDR7506, ATHM40x and DT770 to guess what bass will sound like. Presonus are ok. Haven't tried Rokits yet, but I asume they are also small squeezed sounds.

Will the sound still be good if i connect it directly to my monitor? I read a review saying it requires an audio interface to sound good.

If you want good balanced sound and get the best out of the speaker it's needed yeh

Keep in mind before buying them, it does not come with the trs 1/4 cables, you need to get them yourself.

Why people recommend this for music production while it doesn't cover the low end frequencies lol?

good bass is usually tied to the physical size of the monitor. If your looking for rattling bass then I would suggest a bigger pair of monitors

Hi, I'm getting boomy sound for frequencies around 100hz no matter what tweaks I make. That must be the only downside from my perspective, but it's a deal breaker for me so I will be changing them for a 5" speaker.

How you guys don't mention that e3.5 does not have a good low end? It's really bad for trap music, can someone prove i am wrong? Huh ofcourse not

"Passive"? These are active monitors with a POWER CORD for the INTERNAL AMPLIFIER. Misinformation.

I had these for two years. They’re good for what they are. Solid for the price. But they have ZERO low end. If you make hip-hop or EDM, you will be disappointed.
@imamusicmogul

You defiantly don’t get the bass rattling stuff from these. But for entry monitors on a budget they fit the bill
@bodhibeats8257
@bodhibeats8257 3 года назад
@@imamusicmogul Yeah, agreed. They’re very good for $99/pair. But if you make bass heavy music, it may be better to save until you can afford something that will give you the low end you need.

Yes I completely agree. Otherwise mixes would be very bass heavy.

@@bodhibeats8257 do you have any suggestion for a budget pair that have better low end?
@bodhibeats8257
@bodhibeats8257 3 года назад
@@CarlosSousa-of6ru KRK Rokit 5 and Yamaha HS5 are among the best budget choices - but of course they’re nowhere near $99/pair. You aren’t going to get much bass out of any $99/pair near field studio monitors.
