@@lethalassassin1754 over the past 25 years I built a diverse wardrobe and have found I needed a variety of clothing items. Back in 2005 everyone was hyped over pairing Ralph Lauren Horween leather wingtips with jeans and sport coats. LP are great shoes if you hang at the yacht club.
I guess it can work if you’re in relatively warm weather. I’d rather go with an ankle cut boot like a Chelsea or Chukka if it’s my only option other than my sneaker. His choice makes sense for a weekend trip to someplace warm but not a year round 2 shoe collection.
