There is a lot of forgotten history in those t0 uniques. Well rolled Lioneye's Glare was the to go weapon in the early beta era for the end game players. Upto 30k dps which was more than enough. :) Bino's are in the same basket. They were for a while the go to weapon for chaos builds with good clear speed. Essentia Sanguis had 42 health on hit and in combination with old molten strike they made you almost invincible with fair DPS. I think the returning pattern here is that most of those uniques were for a period the strongest go to items of that era. GGG forgot to rebalance them or remove them from the list.
@@everydaynormalguy883 Oh yea, she got added in 1.0.0, I dunno why I remembered it as still beta days then. I guess because we only had 4 acts in 3 difficulties?
@@christerjakobsen8107 if I remember correctly, at launch the game ended at general gravicius? Then was added Piety and Dominus a bit later. And there were 3 difficulties. Yeah, true. I totally forgot about it.
I think voltaxic needs a another buff considering original sin feels more like a T0 than the bow does, would love to see it maybe make shock increase chaos damage taken or %increased poison duration or something per 1% of shock effect idk .
@@samarakaye2779 It is, I run it on my poison herald of thunder build, but an original sin with a good staff / sceptre and or shield makes it even more tanky and more dps over it.
What hurts the most is how many T0 drops I've had (15+ in previous leagues, this one doesn't really count even though I haven't dropped a good one). And the most expensive one I've ever dropped is Soultaker.
Only 42% of Squire builds use Arkali's. It's always just been an amazing shield that can pump all sorts of numbers in many, many, many builds because of the weapons you can craft. Also fun with Poet's Pen and a popular Poet's+Squire is actually the new Frostblink of Wintry Blast.
@@micdonallls8853 Squire is good with any build that wants to socket a skill they want to support in their main-hand weapon. So something like Poet's pen or Arakali's is great with it because you want to support the gems in the main hand, but normally only get 3 sockets in that weapon to play with. Squire lets you have a 5L poet's pen or 6L Arakalis.
I really like this video. A video that I would love is if you do a video on what strange things are done with unique item so that we can understand better how to use unique items and their effects.
I didn’t know that Marohi erqi was a T 0 that makes it my first ever and thankfully my second was Mageblood. I know people have issues with this league being so juiced but as an Xbox player where the economy can struggle and someone who only got like 150D last league having HH and MB and saving for a mirror bow feels amazing
I think thanks to ritual it's now possible to exactly confirm the tier of unique's, no more guessing based on drops... :D One thing I'd love to know is if it first rolls the rarity of the item, then what item, or if it simply rolls an item, and the rarity is simply a easier way for GGG to set the rarity. In the latter case "it could have been X" whenever a T0 drops would simply be false, in the first case it would be true, and magebloods would be more likely the less other T0's exist.
I think I got a Lioneye's Glare once. I chucked it not knowing it was a T0 unique. I've also gotten a Soul Taker ages ago and The Squire this league. That is the sum total of my T0 natural drops in 2000+ hours of PoE since closed beta.
Ralakesh is such a great item. Combined with arn's it really does help more survival-focused builds to be DPS applicable in a lot of good ways. I'm running these boots and the belt on a cast on crit slayer over leech DD build and it's so damn fun to play.
Imo, keeping each temporary league contents to be integrated permanently in the core-game is not good especially league contents that able to provide alot of power, directly or indirectly. These includes original sin (sanctum), headhunter (originally from nemesis league only drop), kalandra touch (kalandra league), fractured and synthesized item (synthesize league), hinekora lock (trial of the ancestor), and annoints (blight). And I really think that by keep making every temporary league mechanic and content getting into core game, is the one of big reason on why we have bloodseeker, lioneye glare, essentia sanguis to have the stat and usage that reflects more of t2 or t3 uniques, even after the buffs, but having the droprate of t0. Also by today standard, those uniques are not even on vendor-tier list unique. I still remember back in bestiary league, bloodseeker claw was a very good endgame weapon when offhand statstick was a meta. Despite the old stat of bloodseeker was also trash, the instant leech is really good. Having past temporary league mechanic and content to be always integrated into the core-game heavily limits the amount of "buffs" or positive changes to improve both the current ascendancies / gems / archetype / unique items in each league, and the "underperformed" ones. By having past temporary league mechanic and contents to be rotated / cycled in each new temporary league like it used to, I think GGG will have more freedom to give alot of buffs or even crazy rework for ascendancy, gems, passive tree, and uniques.
i cant belive you think unique high pdps bow would be an acceptable design. lioneyes imo should have some unique stat that relates to the random mana it has
Damn, I didn't realize all of these were t0s. Some of them make sense - Voltaxic, Soul Taker, and Binos are surprises but I understand for their build enabling power. Some of them, like Bloodseeker and Marohi Erqi... That's gotta feel bad to drop instead of the others.
I hadn't had a clear answer yet. Damage types such as bleed, fire, impale and poison. Can they all proc at the same time? I know the individual damages can reset as the highest damage will apply the additional damage but, what about multiple types if damages? I appreciate any help and thanks in advance
@@SirMcAwesome It's cool looking, and kinda works with the new transfigured gem At some point in the game you just try things, I made my own frozen legion build this league and it's running alright
I think Lioneye's rarity is probably just because it's never been buffed in drop rate since ye olden days when Hits Can't Be Evaded was BiS for crit builds. You know, back when it was basically Reach of the Council and Lioneye's as the best bows, but then we had all the crafting buffs, the huge nerfs (gutting, really) to Reach and accuracy was allowed to go up to 100%, not capped at 95%.
I think they actually made Lioneye's Glare T0 somewhat recently? Several leagues ago I was dropping them like candy (easily dozens of them per league), despite never dropping HH/MB/etc in those leagues. Like, I think it *was* T0 very early in POE's history, then was dropped down to T3 or something for many years, and then more recently was bumped back up to T0.
Hey dude I recentlyfound your videos due to D4 and havve decided to give PoE a shot. I am looking for an Ice witch esque build and havent had any luck other than what appears to be a melee build with cyclone. any hints?
Hey @Zizaran, I think PoE police has muted your video when you started to describe the best places for fishing. Could you maybe post another video with a fishing guide? I've been looking for it for a quite long time.
I just got a Rakiata’s dance…no idea it was T0.. that’s the only T0 I’ve found…I’ve got 2 magebloods this season but it was from a void key and Valdos so I don’t know if that counts.
Ralakesh's doesn't come with any downside given how strong it is. Without scaling any charhe you already get 12% action speed 12pdr 12res 150% crit chance
Man, I've vendored SO MANY Marohi Erqis in my playtime that I'm surprised to learn it's a T0 unique. It always looked like such garbage to me. Trash AS, trash crit, reduced AR even.
This is a video i was always curious about when i first joined league. Especially since I thought all oranges were just super rare (When i first saw my first orange item I lost my shit thinking I won the game, that first item was the princess XD)
Marohi + Ice Crash = Love Voltaxic Rift is just great to experiment with. Why these items are so rare? I can understand overpowered MageBlood. But just interesting items? Bruh...
Some of those T0 are a straight up joke items with insane rarity, I wonder what the thought process was to make them T0, like essentia, bloodseeker and bino's are all great as starting items during league start, but they are so rare that nobody can really use them as starter items anyway, so what's even the point.
@@burningpipe2627 I do. I get that those items were once great and deserved to be T0 but that time has long past, now those 3 would be good in early game with those stats but because they are T0 they are not really usable in the earlygame and are quickly overshadowed in the mid to lategame, no point in having items like that in T0, either rework them or move them down a tier.
GGG design philosophy doesn't allow giga high DPS unique weapons because they think rare should always be numerically better (same reason they gutted starforge, totally undeserved imo). Instead I propose t0 weapons should all have something unique and build enabling (like rakiatas having invert resistances) and scalable to make up for shitty base DPS. In theory lioneyes glare has far shot which is actually really good on slayer who also gives it 8 base crit. Bloodseeker and essentia sanguis need some form of damage scaling (e.g. 2% more damage per 100 life recovered recently, or hits with this weapon deal double damage while at full es). Binos can get a buff to the aoe of poison prolif so non pathfinders can use it for clear. Voltaxic is already interesting with the lightning to chaos conversion and shock stuff going on, maybe just make it 100% increased shock effect (global) instead of hits with this weapon, since I feel like it's mostly used with spells anyway.
Honestly, I feel like most unique weapons are underwhelming. A few have some uses here or there, but really wish there were better chase weapons in the game.
It is sad that some uniques have nice effects, but the damage/effect wasnt update through time and it became shit with powercreep. I totally understand the concept (and i support it) of well crafted/mirror crafted rares being almost always better than usual unqies, but tier 0 should always be build enabling or close to that.
I have a soft spot for completely useless insanely rare items like the dirtiest block in terraria It’s a dirt block pet, there’s a few per world and look exactly like dirt so you have to randomly stumble across it
Not mentioning how Tidebreaker used to be THE PREMIER slam weapon, and used to destroy content before the Atlas rework post Shaper/Elder map incidence takeover mechanic, actually hurt my soul. This item is so old and iconic, that all it needs is a little bit of a buff to rise to popularity again. Give it the Atziri's Disfavor/Voidforge treatment, and you'll have a gigaweapon once again. Tidebreaker's current usage is simply a product of the times escaping its usability. Buff it and it will be used again. Marohi Erqi actually replaced it when it came out in very similar builds because Marohi Erqi was simply superior, and Tidebreaker was neglected. Just buff it, GGG. I thought you were supposed to be buffing older items anyway over time? That was what you said when you buffed some deterministic boss drops anyway.
Give Doomfletch "Adds [1-300] physical damage to attacks" and there you have it. It's already such an interesting unique to build around, if only it was stronger.
Getting depressed learning how many T0 uniques I've actually found despite never once finding squire, hh, mageblood, or kalandra's touch. In fact i think ive found almost every one of them except for the good ones
@@JuicyG_ Oh thank god........ lol Im sitting here like... I've got about 10 years back luck saved up from playing since beta and only finding the trash T0s.....
this video just made me sad i didnt know i had got so many t0 drops that just suck lol and now every time they drop ill just be thinking could have been a mage blood lol
Did they make some of these rarer? how is the rarity for this decided? because I've found a ton of a lot of these crappier uniques, but none of the good ones. That means I'm either incredibly unlucky, the rarity here is wrong, or perhaps the most likely that they somehow made these items _rarer_ when they were _already_ quite mid-at-best items. Regardless of which of the circumstances it be, that is messed up.
