In this video we go over the Asics Nova Surge Low, maybe an under-the-radar shoe but with amazing performance.
This is a shoe with excellent cushioning and traction. The Flytefoam feels soft and responsive, its lightweight setup gives you good agility plus top notch impact protection. Very minimal dust pick up on this outsole too. They fit true to size, if your size isn’t available you can refer to the length in cm provided on their size chart to find your usual length for the best fit. The outrigger part is another highlight that ensures great lateral containment. Perhaps the only concern is breathability given the leather upper, but from my experience it was not an issue.

Thank you for your review. Really helped me a lot in deciding if I should get this shoe or not. I purchased the black colorway size US 8.5 (265cm) since the size 9 which I normally wear with other brands has 270cm and it fits me perfectly. Before wearing it though I thought the shoe was small lol.. What I did not want at first was the grip (used it on a dusty court) but after break in, I agree with you, these shoes are one of the best performance wise. I love the premium leather which gives it a classic look (90s shoes vibe) but not heavy on foot. Breathability is its downside so after playing I always remove it. What I love most about this shoe is its cushion. My knees did not hurt after playing more than 2 games which usually happens when I wear my other basketball shoes. Overall Im very satisfied with it's performance.

Yo man, thank you for the review! I got it after watching your video, mainly to use for volleyball. The grip, cushioning and support is great! I also have Jordan 36, Zion1 and Why Not Zero .5, but amongst all of them this was the best!

Got mine 2 weeks ago, Thanks for your review, it helped a lot and I made the right choice, I was choosing over Gel Hoop 15 VS Gelburst27 and the Tatum 1's. The comfort and the response on these shoe is very good, Fit is 10/10 props to Asics! though it seem pricey, but you get premium quality off of it. overall very happy with my pair.

I had a pair of ASICS Gel here in the USA way back in the mid-90s and those were great shoes, one my favs for hoops. Very quick shoe with instant energy transfer. Was curious what they are making today. I’m old but still go and shoot around.

Looks like the perfect shoe for me. The way they did the heel is genius too imo. Its not caged w great foam and is shaped/flaird out in a way that looks like itd be amazing for heel to toe transitions, and all w/out goin too "runner" w it. Also really like when the heel foam is designed around crease areas. Yea Id prolly pick this shoe up if it was more easily available. Great review!

Oh ny God I had no idea! I was just running in my dynablast 2s yesterday and thought to myself, why the hell doesn't asics make a basketball shoe with this foam!? I have that foam (flytefoam) on my Asics Max Trabuco 2 trail shoes. It's a really fantastic foam. Really cushioned and great energy return. The shock absorbtion is really good. I highly recommend the Asics Gel Nimbus 25. It's the Flytefoam combined with their new Pure Gel. Literally the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn

The Novasurge 2 is the upgraded high cut variant to the line. Thinking of getting one myself. Its good for bigs who need support and cushioning over the closer to the ground courtfeel of the gelbursts. Highly recommend checking them out. Although pricey 😅

Yeah great impact protection on these from their Flytefoam. Those two are fantastic for bigs, I wouldn’t say these will beat them but it’s certainly one that you can’t go wrong with. Also more wide foot friendly but that depends on your foot shape.

Umm honestly this is my very first experience with Flytefoam, so it’s probably not enough of a sample size to call this better or worse. Boom is for sure great and long-lasting. I do think this shoe is worth that price tag, given its performance but if it’s anything over 200 bucks maybe not lol

I’d probably go with these. But to me this shoe and the WOW 10 are pretty much both in the Top 3 of all things available out there, so no bad choice here 😃 I think the Asics are better for wide/flat feet, while the WOW 10 may be the better option if your feet are medium-narrow. Hope this helps

Woo that’s a tough one. WOW 10 beats these in bounciness, but otherwise they’re pretty much evenly matched. These are much softer on feet and have better court feel too while the WOW 10 is a really elevated setup. So they’re quite different, but at the very least same level of performance.

Hey. I can tell you now that the Trae Young 1 is a lot more wide foot friendly, but has heel slippage issues. Both are great for indoors with durable outsoles. Traction performance indoors I would say Dame Certified is slightly better, but Trae Young 1’s cushioning setups takes less time to break in. That’s about what I can think of 😃 The main difference is width, so it depends on your foot shape I guess.

They have some similarities actually. About the same amount of heel compression, I would say these give a more fluent transition but the LeBron 20 is bouncier.

Their sizing is very confusing. Their US 11 says its only 28.5, unlike nike 11 = 29cm

As mentioned, they fit pretty much true to size. You can go with whatever your normal size is, if they have that option.
