The sky turning green essentially actually means nothing when it comes to tornados. You’re just looking straight up into the core of a strong meso. The only thing it can usually indicate is that there is VERY large hail falling up in there.
@blakebarber6935 well.. yeah? It basically just shows how strong the updraft is and usually indicates a pretty strong storm. No it's not a tell tale sign of a tornado, but if you're staring straight up into the meso it's ominous either way lol
This is honestly the clearest footage I've ever seen depicting a dead man walking tornado structure... That's chilling watching how quickly it moves like that.
Pecos Hank has some pretty spooky looking tornadoe videos over the years, and this ranks right up there with some of his best. Just calm and relaxed no yelling and screaming about the obvious. Nice video
@@missbecky2571 Reed is getting better though, I can't stand the Southern accent yelling about some, "VIO-A-LANT TOR-NAY-DA", lol as if there there are tornadoes that aren't violent HAHAHA gets me every time!
I love that Cop! He was running from it and tried to protect Gabriel from getting hurt by blocking him..... then he gives him the go ahead to continue chasing. Cops really are awesome people.
Awesome video. No screaming or yelling, just good camera work. That thing changed shapes and multiplied so many times…incredible. Oh, and I loved the music.
I grabbed a snack and sat down to eat it. This was so intense I completely forgot about the snack. An amazing chase. Love and light to the affected families 🖤
Great job buddy... that thing was a mile from my house, hit several friends homes... It sure didn't like big trees... fortunately no one injured! Thanks!
I like Reed Timmer's footage but the nonstop screaming makes my ears bleed. This was great. The music was good but a tad loud at times but otherwise quite dramatic without being annoying and me wanting to hit mute lol. Also, props to the steady camera work. Look forward to more. Stay safe!
That's an extremely childish way to look at things. People criticize Reed BECAUSE he is so good. Unfortunately he is practically unwatchable bc of his big ass mouth. I like Reed and his passion but sometimes I'd like to hear the storm and not him screaming inane BS.
@@suelancaster6959 To be fair I usually have to mute him too, though I appreciate what he does. But it never fails that every tornado video has comments freaking out about how awful Reed is 😵 It's just funny to me and I guess that didn't translate very well in text. Me and my "extremely childish" self are out. Have a nice day.
The Joker music!! Perfect for this absolute crazy, unpredictable tornado! "BE the agent of chaos!" "Do I really look like a guy with a plan...?" "What doesn't kill you makes you... stranger." 💀☠️
watching this on the 8th month on the same day of the month this tornado happend, that is *_TERRIFYING._* you storm chasers are incredibly brave for chasing down these massive, terrifying vortexes of sheer insanity.
It’s a general rule of thumb. Dead man walking tornadoes tend to be violent as multivortex monsters, but I’d they don’t hit anything or anyone, no one dies from it. I actually saw a dead man walking tornado as a child but it was weak, only knocked down a few trees.
Incredible chase (and fantastic music choice), I'm glad no one was injured or killed. Best possible outcome, tbh. Stay safe out there and good luck with your studies!
TOTALLY AWESOME FRIGGIN FOOTAGE.!!!! The music, the chase , the hair on my arms standing straight up. I wanted to be a " Storm Chaser " and this was PHENOMENAL.!!!! Thank you. God bless you and yours. Stay safe, be careful. Happy Chasing.👍💕👀
My mother and her friend were actually driving on that road when it was heading towards them. The storm was predicted to be to the north and along I-44 so she took 60 the south road but the tornado was actually south of 60. Hearing it was heading her way she went south (right side in the video 8:30)only one or two roads. She almost drove right into it. I’m so lucky she is still alive.
This day was my birthday and I was opening my presents during this time I live in Missouri aswell near Monett and it was the scariest experience I've ever had
Used to live somewhere southeast to where the tornado struck. These things are very wild experiences, even making me want to try chasing once I'm older and have more knowledge about the weather and these events. Cool vid!
You did a great job filming this. I've seen hundreds of videos over the years and this is one of the best in regards to the contrast and overall picture. You sure can see the green color of the skies, along with the overall way the clouds were forming and moving.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'm getting mixed comments on whether or not the music was a good addition, but I personally thought it added to the thrill of the chase, and made it a bit unique compared to other storm chasing videos.
@@gtaylor_wx personally, I totally agree. I feel like storm chasers and the people who watch them live for that adrenaline rush, and the music was so fitting, majestic yet terrifying all the same!❤
I saw one of these as a kid! I got up early for school as a 5yr old kid because I wanted to play some Donkey Kong and a HUGE tornado was approaching! I opened the door to see what was going on and there it was! A massive elephant trunk tornado with little baby tornadoes coming off of it! It missed my house by only 3 blocks! I remember thinking geez, I just want to play some Fing Donkey Kong 😆😆😆
Whenever I hear tornado sirens I just know the whole spooky sound thing is intentional. Its incredibly distinctive, and the terrifying noise is practically guaranteed to get the attention of anyone who hears it. Also props to those cops for doing their best to keep people from wandering into a tornado and having the awareness to do so. Most people killed by tornadoes while driving die because they don't even know its there to begin with, often because the storms are rain wrapped.
STUNNING footage! The music was well chosen and dramatic, I just wish you had let us hear the tornado at some point though. Still, it was so nice to have such fantastic footage and not have storm chasers screaming like little b1tches over the top of it! Absolutely excellent work!
I started having a panic attack a few weeks ago when my parents rold me that rotation was in the sky and headed toward our road. I never had a panic attack about rotation until then, 2 years ago my carport (that was 3-4 feet away from my house) was picked up and dropped into my neighbors yard from a funnel cloud. I like watching tornados on videos, but when it comes near me I start having a panic attack and an SVT (Because I have an extra pathway in my heart that sends extra heartbeats to my heart when I get stressed)
Local monett garbage man here, I would have just gotten off work and been right there coming back from Verona transfer station, but I was on vacation. Came back to the park trees being all torn up some damage on hywy 60 in monett. Major damage on the business 60 stretch headed to aurora. Thanks for the video upload, stay safe out there.
The strangest and scariest tornado I have seen on RU-vid!! No clear path and jumped around. If someone who was chasing this that didn’t know what they were doing could have gotten to serious trouble!
search “el reno 2013 tornado” and watch it, that will definitely change the scariest tornado on here, 2.6 miles wide, 300+ mp/h winds in the main funnel, sub vortices that will literally “chase” the storm chasers, erratic path (changed directions and caught storm chasers off guard) and killed some of the most experienced storm chasers along with other people.
Agreed 😂 I think he would shit him self with El Reno full vid or that old guy with the nuts of steel on the 2nd floor .. Tuscaloosa is a pooper and my home town Joplin even worse than that... Tornado newbie? @@-108-
