I work in habitat restoration in the Presidio and our staff & volunteers have been working for years to restore Mountain Lake to a state where it can support wildlife such as birds, bugs, plants, and of course the Western Pond Turtle. Thank you SO much for making this video!!! Its really a treat to see someone sharing with the community what we are doing here in the park, and why we are doing it.
+Alyssa Pun It was a real treat to get to spend time around the lake (in the case of my colleague, cinematographer Josh Cassidy, inside the lake, filming the turtles). Thank you for the work you do.
"so far they're thriving" *turtle drops back into water from his climb* XD. too funny. I've seen only a few of your videos but I'm getting hooked deep look-ed, ha, get it? cause it rhymes...ok I'll stand in the corner
Yay, another great video from Deep Look! Your videos are so elegant, it's always a real pleasure to watch. You guys are really inspirational, you need much more views! Keep up the excellent work!
I remember when my turtle was that little, his head looked 3 sizes too big for his body... such an adorable turtle still. He is 7.5 inches long and about a pound at 2 years old
Good to see you back, Deep Look! I wonder: how long does it take to create this kind of video for you? By "this kind" I mean great quality, obviously. ;) Does it depend more on your direct resources like time and money - or is more connected to finding a good topic and willing cooperators (like science institutes and such)?
Hi +Rufus Blackwood. Thank you for your question. I'm one of the three producers on the Deep Look team. It takes us two days to film each story, then about two days to write the script, four days to edit, three to four days for the composer to create the score and one to two days for the sound mix. This doesn't include the time it takes us to research our stories, which can be one or two weeks. The research time is shorter or longer, depending on the story idea. Thank you for watching!
Gabriela Quiros Thank you for a very detailed answer. So the rule "Easy reading means hard writing" applies quite nicely to your videos. :) Thank you for all the hard work and I hope you will increase you reach soon. :)
Dude, its crickets. They are not venomous, they dont bite and they stay away from excrement, so no infections either. Theres absolutely nothing that could happen here.
In the first season of Pokemon, Squirtle squad makes so much more sense now. They don't really need a trainer, they're all preprogrammed with all their skills.
+Nguyen Henry Thank you! We love ocean creatures too -- we've produced videos on sharks, squid, jellyfish, sea otters, corals, plankton and pygmy seahorses. Which creatures did you have in mind?
Aww these turtles are so adorable! Turtles are my favorite animals if you couldn't tell by my username and icon haha. These videos are always so interesting and detailed. I love this channel!
