Thanks for your videos - very informative. Question: I understand the need for certification, but it’s not clear when to have a stamp graded. Several stamps you showed appeared to be well centered, but were not graded. TIA
I only get graded if I think it will be Very Fine or better centering and completely sound with no faults. That way it will be worth close to the catalogue value. See this other video I did explaining the different grades. Go to the 2:20 time in the video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-X6W7F4-iGoA.htmlsi=91NYhX7J5v8lYOC7
I thought a couple of the stamps that you included in this video would have graded 80 or better - maybe there were faults. Also, which of the expertising sources do you recommend for grading - most objective in judging centering?
@@richardnason6441yes they can be perfectly centered but if they have a fault then I may get it authenticated if it’s a more valuable stamp, but not graded. I go with PSE professional stamp experts for my grading. Sometimes Crowe will grade if I’m sending off a large group to him. But 90% I go with PSE.
