I will always remember when she was trying to distance from the whole cosby young actor era and she posed on the cover of rolling stone. It was such a graceful, artistic photograph and I feel it showcased her independence.
Bill Cosby was a hypocrite, because he fired Lisa for getting pregnant. But when Phylisha Rashad was pregnant by her husband, Bill & the producers made sure they hid her pregnancy during that whole season (behind counters, carved out the mattress when they had scenes in the bedroom ect). But he didn’t do the same for Lisa Bonet when she was on a different world. Although later he did bring her back to the Cosby show with a naval husband & step daughter Raven Symone. 🙄
She minds her business, and keeps everyone out of her business. So as you can see from the comments all people are left with, is to bash her acting, and her career.
I have always had a quiet admiration for this actor since I first saw her as a Huxtable all thos years ago! She is still serene looking and her inner beauty shines out
Lisa Bonet is a naturally gorgeous and unique talented 🎨 artist. She does not follow trends has built her own lane. She is into embracing nature organic diet. Wisely, Lisa and her two children, who are now teenagers, have been kept off social media & TV and encouraged to think outside the box be creative & free thinking play outside !
I was extremely upset when I heard that they split up in my opinion he was getting more famous and didn’t want the away from it all lifestyle because of that I could be wrong but I can’t help but believing it’s true especially because of his telling the world what he said about her when he was a kid I’m sad about it and I’m mad at him
The Black kids at secondary school called me coconut because I wouldn't join in with their mean, antisocial behaviour. I was no follower and did things my way, still do. I have always been eclectic, I still am.
You can feel from a different race even inside your own family. I grew up being the "foreigner" because I inherited my grandfather features, he was Brittish and I look too different from my brown eyed, brown hair, Spanish parents. Too white, too blonde I guess. When my mother received any visit I could feel her shame and I thought there was something wrong within me. I didn't find out about my Brittish blood until my father died when I was in my 30s. I guess my mother thought people were suspicious about me not being the daughter of my father ( most people don't know about the second law of Mendel about genetics) and she being a cheater but my family always made me feel like I didn't belong.
They were on a show together that lasted only one season on Sundance called the Red Road. I loved it and was disappointed when it was cancelled. I love Lisa Bonet and she was so good in that show.
Lisa Bonet is beautiful, talented and dripping with class. She never seems to age. Any man would be more than fortunate to have her. Love you Lisa Bonet, I wish you all the happiness in the world
She is her own person to live and speak as she feels also not to comment if not wanting to , Being an actress. mother, wife a Woman of color is a lot to balance in the public eye she has done what she could to kept it together.
I appreciate Cosby's decision to not allow "Denise Huxtable" to portray an "out of wedlock" pregnancy. That is too much of a common astigmatism among black families. And though his portrayal of the black family was not perfect in natire, it was a reality for many families. And I'm just glad that he kept the Congeniality where it was, and not allowed her to be shown as a out of wedlock stereotype! No judgement on single mothers. Just love the statement he made about the black family with the whole series.
This mini biopic video about Lisa Bonet claiming the only time she, & partner-at-the-time Jason Momoa only worked together was in the movie "Road to Poloma" is inaccurate. They also co-starred in the short-lived, 2-season, TV series that aired on the Sundance channel called the "Red Road." This project began around the same period of time as the Momoa-directed movie, "Road to Paloma" was released
She loves to be free she dont care about stupid stuff she loves to just live thats what i see in her and free spiriits dont do well with marriages nor anything with tight rules etc bless u beautiful woman🎉
not sure about the subject line, the title seems misleading. it is a nice review of lisa bonet but i think claiming that it will be a big aha or change anyone's perception of her is a far stretch. it is a decent review but as a lifelong fan of lisa's, it surely does not tell me anything revelatory. i am the same age as lisa and i am a Lisa too, in high school my nickname was "Bonet" because of our similarity in funky fashion and total vibe. i adore her.
Lisa was the first to sound a warning shot about Bill Cosby. As she got older and living her life, Cosby started intruding on her choices off season and making demands. Lisa said in an interview, part of the reason for her moving on from "A Different World" had to do with his control over her and the role, to the isolation from other actors.
Im sick of hearing how "mixed people," had an awful time fitting in or finding themselves. Im not "mixed," and Ive found that its just a part of life for many people.
We come in all colors. Oreo is a 60's Era slave mentality adjective. Lisa Bonet snagged 2 of the worlds finest and successful men. That takes skill, intelligence, and panache. She's awesome.
She really brought out the best in the those two men she went public with! It's almost like the way we see them in the world is how she looks at them. ImageMatters
Stop the 🧢 the black community loved lisa shes just using everyone who is mixed talking points! Wish her the best but her good is not good enough!!! To allow your daughter to speak on the cosby situation is wrong!! Lisa is a treasure who shinnyness fell short once she dicided to sit willingly on thoes casting couches and do god knows what....yes bill saw she had potential but she wanted more to soon. And again 60 women with questionable past can all have the same story nvmd that you all be well. Lisa was ran through by whyte hollywood and just remains silent 😶 just like hallie berry the world is a wicked place and a lie can become true and flase.
She was not fired from A different world. She left because she was pregnant. She was fired from The Cosby show because she simply stopped showing up. It was during that time, she was having problems in her marriage with Lenny Kravitz. If you stop showing up for work, you get fired, and that's what happened here. It wasn't because she got pregnant.
You do remember this was the 80’s and Phylicia Rashad was a MARRIED WOMAN. Things were different at that time. In this day and age a sex tape makes you a star. It took years to get Rob Lowe’s career back on track.
What do you care what anyone thinks of Lisa Bonet.. is she even famous anymore? Perhaps when people leave the spotlight willingly they should just be left alone in peace. Her vibe was all that ever mattered to me and she seemed cool. The men she tangled herself up with through the years..not so cool. Its not really too complex.
I wish someone would help me, when a man commits a crime against a woman or child what happens to the spouse, there are no support groups for us, there is nothing
The blacks called her oreo. I believe the person narrator said she wasn't accepted by either.. Doesnt seem to be the case. She didn't say the white community called her names or made her feel unwelcome. SHE didn't feel she belonged with rich white people. It wasnt that they didn't accept her.
Yeah that whole family is just strange. Her daughter Zoe clearly has issues with dating underage boys. Ezra Miller when he was only 17 and she was 22. Then she was 24 hitting on Jaden Smith
" She's a queen always" says the love-struck for How long Momoa? ANd yet, still ...cheated on her. And Cosby, well That man shattered his image and my decades long regard of his accomplishments and humor.(can't listen anymore) So also, it would seem, perhaps Kravitz grew up a little, but I personally understand going inward, separating self because of not really belonging anywhere among most people & being betrayed way too many times by them. I still have empathy but I keep super private and no longer a joiner in most group. There's a huge difference in feeling connected to all, thus being All one & whole, than societal inference of weirdness or wrongness in label of "loner"
I'm so glad Liza you got together with a real man you are a good couple . you all should get Lola and then other child close to you. They need this . Jason momma its like so whatever.
