The hydrangea may not stay pink. They change color with the change in the ph of the soil.

Look up what to add to the soil, steel wool turns them blue I think, baking soda may be what you add to keep them pink…

Alkaline in the soil makes them one color ,acidity makes them the other.Add lime to the soil for pink,add aluminum sulfate for blue flowers.

Very nice bit of colour i do see. I see you have a Coleus plant which is grown as a foliage plant for their beautiful coloured leaves . Pinching out the growing point will make it into a bushier plant. I always nipped out those long flowers as takes the beauty from those leaves. The amount of affection you show for each other is amazing. True love was found when you met each other. You have 2 Coleus Lava coloured and a lime green with centre of purple , The Flame Nettle. I do hope you kept the labels for info. All the best guys.

love the shorts. My mom was known for her lovely gardens, she'd been ill and didn't get things planted so she filled in the corner around the bird bath with artificial flowers. She turned the sprinkler on so the garden club ladies wouldn't venture out. They looked out the pictures windows and raved they were the prettiest yet.

Advice on hanging pots. When you buy a hanging pot, dump it out fill with moisture control miricle grow. Separate the plants that wete in the pot. Many times these store bought pots don't have much soil and/or have starting soil that had little nutrients and can't hold water. Now replant the basket plants into the miricle grow. Water and hang in the proper lighting. 😊

Rae, I always put a few fake flowers in between my real ones and no one ever knew the difference, I would always get compliments on how nice my flower bed looks so no shame! ♥️🙏🏻🇨🇦 by the way, your garden is going to be gorgeous when it fills out a bit, have you considered putting some solar lights in your garden, they look so pretty at night. Rae, most hanging baskets are meant to last a season, an annual. They are hard to keep alive!! Don’t let that get you down!! Find a perennial that is bushy. Check with a local nursery not a box store, they will be sooo much more helpful.

Chad, valentines day should be easy now. I don’t let anyone buy me cut flowers, WASTE OF MONEY. I tell them if they want to buy me flowers buy a live plant that I can enjoy for years to come. Design a garden bed just for those type of gifts. They turn out beautiful and can be expanded as the years pass.

My parents, when my siblings started having kids, had them make stepping stones with their names and hand print. Even the little nephew who died as an infant had a stepping stone. About a year ago, after the death of my father, the family home was sold. The stepping stones were dug up and given to the parents of each child so the treasure will be kept.

The shrubs should be at least 4 feet from the house if they get 8 feet wide. I worked at a garden center for years so I know some stuff. The liripoe should be in the front of the bed because it doesn't get too tall.

Rae, I have found that if you feed your hanging baskets with plant food that you mix with water and feed them every two weeks they do great. Chad, I'm with you on the perennials, and when your grasses get to big you can split them and replant in another location. Your laropie will grow and fill in an area, you can split and move them too. Front garden is taking shape and looking good!

that was fun to watch. when I moved into my last house I stripped the existing beds, brought in top soil and amendments, and tilled it all together to get it ready for the new plantings. for that I went a little overboard. I had a color scheme, got out my garden catalogs, and mapped it all out on the computer so I knew exactly where every bulb was going to be placed and how many of each I needed. when the boxes were delivered it was daunting but when everything came up and bloomed it was so worth it.

A lot of grasses propagate horizontally. They might not be that wide as a mature plant, but when you have a clump of 6 or 7 plants it can get overwhelming pretty fast. For most plants, you can transplant them later. Have fun! Prayers for health and safety!🙏❤️🙏

They are very drought resistant if you forget to water them and they like full sun. But you do have to water them a little but they just need to be moist. Grandma planted some in her tiered tower garden.

That plant is "luh-RYE-oh-pee" with the accent on RYE.... It makes a lovely edging but will attract bees when it blooms if that is an issue. Your flower beds are going to be lovely when you get them all done and they take root to start growing and filling out.

Hi Chad and Ray, the burgundy plant, and the plants that has burgundy with green edges are called coleus and they are annuals so they will probably not return next year. Ray you should look into the plant called bleeding hearts they are quite beautiful of a bush and have hearts hanging from the limbs. I think you’ll really like that, and it comes back every year! Thank you for another great video never missed one! ❤ oh also the Celosia that you bought ( dragons breath) is also an annual just in case you wanted to know. I work at a greenhouse, and a lot of people get confused between the annuals and perennials. But they will look pretty this year, and that’s all that matters!

Your dragons breath like well drained areas. They don't do well in soggy. But love direct sunlight. Beautiful plants. I use to beg my dad to buy the bright varieties of colosia plants especially the hot pink and orange for my little garden as a kid. I was always so proud of them and dragged peoe to see my garden just to see those flowers.

Happy Father's day 😊 love the shorts, they're fun! I had a holly in front of my house that grew almost to the windows of my second floor - they can grow huge if you don't keep them trimmed - I had a hard time trimming because the leaves are really sharp and I got scratched up trying to work on it. We ended up taking it out. My mom had hydrangeas in front of her house and they do bush out a lot. 😊🌸🌼

Hanging pots are a little harder because you have to keep them watered, plus you need to remember the amount of sunlight that they like. But, you live and learn.

Keep the plant labels tethered to the plants or in a file with a map where you planted the plant. This way you can further research the plant type and needs as they grow. You have a tough climate for raising garden plants. Rae go for pretty. Balance your annuals and perennials. In time you’ll get a greenhouse to extend your growing season.
