I loved this game as a kid. My dad would be asleep on the couch and when the Grinch said “ANOTHER ONE!” he would jump out of his sleep and his heart would be racing, and then slowly go back to sleep. Lmao.

I love Arin's enthusiasm for the snowmen, but I was internally screaming for him to get the mailboxes lol (Edit: He walks up to them and does nothing. Everything else in this game is done by smashing, and he doesn't even try it on the mailbox. Arin, your mind never ceases to amaze me)

Watching that one final fail with Dans “not even that, huh god” was everything I needed today

Dan ALWAYS has a band in mind for any musical sound he hears and it's insane, a bucket of kittens could fall down concrete stairs in a tin trashcan and Dan will be like "oh yeah that sounds like laguna Beach by Phillip Williams from the 1978 album laguna beach" 🤣

the combination of dan's great rhyme lines and that way to loud "ouch" sound effect really make this episode.

I'd always hoped that Arin and Dan might get around to playing the same Grinch game that Ross and Barry did where a small child got permanently attached to their character

Legit thought Arin was messing with us by doing all the narration, it sounds like a voice he could do and the rhymes sound a lot like things he would say anyway.

Dan managing to come up with these hilarious rhymes on the fly is just so impressive to me. Shows you how truly talented he is

I feel like it's a Jingle Grumps tradition now to have some sort of emulation-related disaster/masterpiece.

When Dan said “I’d love it if the narrator painted himself into a corner haha” I thought he meant the narrator painted himself the same pattern as the Grinch’s living room walls and was hiding

At first I thought the volume of the game compared to their voices was a joke, but then…

I played this game as a kid, and I actually think it was pretty good for its time (ie, the first real generation of 3D games). It's kind of an open-world adventure with a wide variety of objectives. Arin's first problem was getting too distracted by/focused on smashing the presents, when they're really just a secondary objective (that also restores your health); it's the other missions (and collecting blueprints) that actually progresses you through the game. The second problem was not realizing that there are two different kinds of jump you can do off of the horizontal bars, and that he happened to keep doing the high jump where he needed to go long and the long jump where he needed to go high. And the third problem was not realizing (until after they'd already given up on the game) that you could open the door by the sleeping policeman; I know it may not have looked obvious, but the tutorial text telling the player to sneak to not wake him was certainly hinting at it, and you need the who cloak inside to get into the post office and continue the game. It's a shame, because there's a pretty groovy Mission Impossible-style musical track inside the post office that they never got to hear; the Whoville theme isn't the only music in this game that punches above its pay grade.

The fact that a poorly made Dr Seuss game confuses arin brings me absolute Christmas joy,and he's dead set on playing it more lol

Arin's legs moved at different walking and running speeds when he tried to leg out the rationale as to how The Grinch got a mortgage on that house with all of those super doors.

I forgot this game existed and I loved it so much as a kid. Thank you for bringing it back to me.

I have never clicked on a video so fast! This video game was my entire childhood! They had demo CDs of it inside cereal boxes at the time and I kept replaying it until I finally was gifted the full PlayStation game for my birthday. I also literally just mimicked the Grinch’s sneaking animation when walking on black ice the other week. What a fancy fellow, that Grinch. Oh man I loved this game as a kid. I remember getting 100% completion in it over winter break.

I had the demo of this game on PC, and it was so unstable you could only change maps something like four times and then the game would crash when you tried to change maps a fifth time. As a result, I spent my time optimizing the route needed to accomplish everything in the demo with the least number of map changes.

This game and its music brings so much nostalgia.
