This is the video that launched their career. They were 14, 12, and 9. Dany and Pau had already been playing for six years. James Hetfield tweeted about this: “The drummer kicks maximum ass!” Dany spent hours practicing her stank face which annoyed her sisters.

Ale maintaining a perfect bass line as Dany is playing her solo blows me away. She was 9 at the time and had been playing the bass for a year and a half. She was born to play that bass.

I love that even back then you can see that they took it seriously, while also having fun! Shawka, I bet you'd enjoy seeing their cover of Atlas Rise as well, seeing them sorta between then and now.

Another cover from this time period that is a much watch is Muse cover of Resistance. It really showcases all of their skills. Ale switches between picking and plucking. Dany plays keyboards and guitar. And Pau displays very dynamic drumming even more so than what you noticed in this video. It has vocal harmonies in addition to separate vocal section for each girl going on simultaneously. Love your breakdown. The Resistance video is about 4 months after this video and Pau has graduated into her first DW drum kit

Ale had been only playing the bass for about 2 yrs at this time! She didn't miss a note (at 9 yrs old). Pau is beating those drums like they owe her money! Her kit has owed her lots of $$$ of the years. Dany practiced her "stank" face for a couple of days before this (and endured much good natured teasing from her sisters).

If time is taken to listen to all The Warning catalog closely through all their years as a band. Then It's easy to know that Dany is an excellent Guitarist Just because she chooses not to play solos doesn't mean she can't. Dany can Riff, rip licks, rip lead lines all while singing, And Yes, she can rip Solos!!! She now knows the fret board position on the baritone guitar, and the dropped tuning positions... She is now singing as well as, any of Rock's greatest female Vocalists ever. Yes I said it. Someone needs to. And yes Pau and Ali are Masters as well ❤️❤️❤️ 🎉🎉 The Warning 🔥🔥🔥

I like this reaction. Its refreshing to hear a kid music teacher reacting to kids play. And your praising of them was well balanced. Its more about dedication and fun than technical skills. You want to do at and take the time to do it and then you grow.

As a teacher, I think you'd really enjoy seeing more steps in their progression: Check out the 2017 Tedx performance. It's a 3 song set at the U of Nv, and it's just after they made their first album. Great performance, with the 3rd song really showing their chops.

They've said the Berklee program was a big turning point in their stage presence. Others would know if they added the wall size mirror to the front wall of their practice room before or after Berklee. They've definitely worked at all aspects of their craft.

If you ask the sisters which one is the best musician, both Dany and Pau will immediatly say Ale. Pau says Ale is a human metronome and will give Pau a look if Pau is getting off beat! They both say Ale makes it look so easy even though they all three work long hours practicing.

re: 2014 *Enter Sandman* cover : for a trio, much less a young trio, this is fantastic! slightly different but a full wall of sound filled with raw power and grit... the child's prayer with Pau (drums) and Ale (bass) is beautiful and takes me back to my own youth and bedtimes with one of my parents coaching me along... the power of Pau on the drums, Ale's driving bass line, and Dany rocking out on guitar with her James Hetfield scowl are... whoa! then you think who needs two guitars when you have one Dany? 😹 also, i'll note that the wall behind the camera is a full mirror so all the girls can see themselves playing... this was done so they could work on their stage presence... the wall on Ale's (bass) side also has a window into the equipment side of their studio known as "The Warning Cave" or "The Cave" for short... they were 14 (Dany on guitar), 12 (Pau on drums), and 9 (Ale on bass) when this was recorded... yes! this is where they went viral, out of the blue! 10 years ago... i mean 🤯 TWA ⚡🤘😸🤘⚡ TWA

Dad Luis made the video so he could send a copy to the girls grandparents as a sort of progress update. The file couldnt be emailed so he posted it on RU-vid, and the rest is history. I believe it's had something like 25 million views over the ten years since.

talking about practice and learning to the point that playing is effortless... DPA/TW were practicing like 5 hours a day, every day... they'd practice by themselves for a few hours and then practice together for a few hours... e.v.e.r.y. day... they remind me of how i was when i started working with computers and my hyper focus would kick in... can't stop until i get this one part perfect! yep! and the girls have also said the same in numerous vlogs and interviews... learning troublesome parts kept them at it until they got it right and they still do the same, today, too... TWA ⚡🤘😸🤘⚡ TWA

I was always impressed by what they were accomplishing at that age. They couldn't have picked a better song to introduce themselves to the world. Then you look half way around the world to a band called Hal-Ca. They are Hal-ca (guitar 12 yrs), Miyu (bass 13 yrs) and Mio (drums 15 yrs). You can also check the live performances of TEDx 2016 & 2017. They gave really good performances, but the most important thing is that you will learn more about their personalities.

The next best video chronologically for seeing The Warning's development is their school concert Liceo, the Trey Salazar video is good. The girls play 4 cover songs, one each to showcase a sister and then one for them as a group - did it as part of getting into a summer program at Berklee school of music. Then they play their original songs off their first EP Escape The Mind which had been released already. The next videos after that would be their TEDx 2016 talk then their return for a 2017 TEDx, which is legendary amongst TWA. I enjoy hearing your comments as a music teacher of kids, gives great perspective on TW's level at these timeframes.

And we may watch this video because it was too big to send by mail to their family so Luis their father uploaded it on you tube and send the link but some people saw them and the rest is history Pau sing and drums since she play drum One her first teacher encourage her to be on point and tight. Recently she explained in a ITW she doesn't even pay attention anymore in it Dany is a wonderful guitarist. Yes she doesn't shrd on supers solo . She does it always wisely and she often play a guitar riff which is very different what she sings

Many kids could develop into real prodigies if they discovered something that they love very early, and got the opportunity to practice it and the recognition and teaching that corresponds to their talent. It’s just that most don’t even get to try out enough things. Of course, Dany, Pau and Ale are a very special case. I applaud their parents for fostering their daughters’ talents. They had excellent jobs and a high standard of living, but they chose to put the music of their kids first.

Pau's been singing while playing drums since she first started learning the instrument. Her drum teacher used to make her sing while playing to help her practice her coordination. That's why she's so good at it.

They spent a ton of time practicing for this, it had to be done in 1 take. If someone made a mistake , they had to start over. Though Pau and Ale did get a little upset with Dany ,because she spent a lot of time practicing her stank face, lol. Posted for family and friends because the file was to big for email/ They went on vacation, and got back to find out it had blown up. Metallica saw this, with Kirk saying that the drummer kicks maximum a$$. Ale's Mustang bass is a 3/4 scale, and is still as big as she is. lol Alessia Cara was invited for the Metallica Blacklist album (30th anniversary of the Black album). Someone they share , in management (international booking agent?) suggested a collab with TW. Check out that reimagined version, live from Teatro Metropolitan CDMX 2022. Since you mentioned you teach kids, and like to see them play, I would like to suggest to you a band of 3 Canadian teens (current ages 17,16 and 15), partly influenced by The Warning. They are called "Freeze the Fall". Suggest "Daughters of Witches" or "Broken Glass"

Wonderful reaction. Their concert at Liceo show cases each member by song. Everlong for Pau, Hysteria for Ale and Crazy Train for Dany. They were too young to go to Berklee music school so they performed to get accepted into the 6 week program.

This performance inadvertently helped launch their career. Interesting to hear a music teacher's analysis of the youthful musicians. I second @jeffreyjameson5510's suggestion for TW's Muse "Resistance" cover. The performance is at least as good as "Enter Sandman". Also, their performance of "Hysteria" by Muse in front of students at Liceo. According to the description, they're all a year older by this time. They all did very well, but Ale's mastery of the bass line is just amazing. They did at least three other songs at Liceo including their original, "Free Falling".
